Extra And MC-Chapter 203 - 199 - What’s My Name?
Two individuals woke up in a very strange space.
A strange place that looked like something straight out of an incomprehensible dream.
Boundless white, all around, and yet, a single, magnificent, gigantic gate, stood before them in all its celestial glory and beckoned, inviting them to explore what was hidden behind it.
How they got to this plane, was a mystery to both of them.
Why they were here?
They hadn’t the faintest idea.
For what reason did they find themselves here?
They knew not why.
And to make matters worse, they were both, also, strangers to each other.
People, who had not even a single recollection of who the other was.
But much more than that, they also had no clue, just who they were.
However, staring at the gigantic gate that was inviting them into its abode, they eventually succumbed, finding themselves in a glassy labyrinth of sorts, one that was constantly shifting and moving.
The outcome of that?
A brutal, merciless, murdering.
Pointed shards of glass, one from a trap they had set off, riddled their beings with holes, viciously killing them off the moment they both, individually, took the wrong steps.

-FREEEEEMMMM-!!!
Xavier, using his sudden arrival to his advantage, manipulated temporal space-time to compress the railgun’s destructive ray into a single ball of destructive energy, completely catching the Demon King off-guard.
It all happened within a second.
Just a second.
And yet, Beelzebub, due to the effects of [Time Dilation], another spell Xavier had casted the moment he arrived, felt his arms, regenerate much slower than they should have.
At the exact same time, he watched as a dome of light blue energy, encased the Valkyries and The Sentinel, froze them in time and ’seemingly’, teleported them to an unknown place, one Beelzebub had no knowledge.
This was an effect of [Chrono Stasis], another simultaneously casted spell from Xavier.
Lastly, The Demon King, forcefully breaking out of the [Time Dilation] spell with a release of a walloping wave of nether energy, reacted, to his assailant just in the nick of time.
-KABOOM-!!!
Pushed backwards with a terrifying force, his feet dragging right through the rugged, unforgiving, pale-hued landscape of the moon, Beelzebub’s extended palms, radiated an ominous hue of reddish-black energy as he absorbed the entirety of the sudden attack.
[Orb of Avarice] was once again, his go to spell.
-FSSSHHH…
Clenching his scaly palms tightly, smoke emanating from it as the powerful compressed solar beam of pure destruction seared his hand a bit, Beelzebub’s ultraspeed regeneration kicked in.
And yet, without even giving him a breather, Xavier was already in his field of view, a sword made of pure Aether, descending with the same destructive force as last time!
-SCHWING-!
This time though, The Demon King took the attack head on, gripping the sword of pure energy with a staunch grip, the aftereffect, causing a rippling sound to cascade through the expanse of space!
-TWAM-!
"You, are the only thing, standing in the way of my final conquest." Beelzebub, currently in a deadlock with Xavier, stated with an angered gaze.
"We’ll see about that." Xavier, his blue eyes deathly cold, responded with a murderous gaze.

Two individuals woke up the next day, finding themselves in a strange space.
Who?
What?
Where?
Why?
How?
Questions they had no answers to.
Yet, once again, the ginormous gates, beckoned to them.
Tempted by its invite, no other way out in sight, both, very wary of the other, took cautious precautions as they made their way through the gates.
A merciless death.
Death by traps in a labyrinthine glass maze.
…
Two individuals woke up a week later.
A strange environment.
A gigantic gate.
Two strangers.
A repeat of the same thing.
An excruciating death.
… …
Two individuals woke up a month later.
The five core questions?
They had no answers to them.
However, they were glad to meet an acquaintance.
At least, they could both try to figure out what was going on here.
A single problem presented itself however.
They couldn’t speak.
And neither did they know how to speak.
Yet, the inviting, towering doors, beckoned to them.
No other choice in sight, they stepped in.
Death, once again, made light work of them.
… … …
Two individuals woke up a year later.
Major questions?
Zilch.
Yet, they were glad to see a close acquaintance.
However, they both suffered from speech impairment.
The gates, once again, invited them.
They followed through.
Death.
… … … …
Two individuals woke up ten years later.
They seemed to have aged by a few months.
They also knew themselves?
A friend.
That was at least something.
Everything else was still lost though.
Speech?
Inaccessible.
The enthralling gates?
They went right through it.
Another ghastly demise.
… … … … …
Two individuals woke up a hundred years later.
They had aged by a year.
They also knew themselves really well.
They were both close friends.
As for the root of their existences?
Not the faintest idea.
The reason they were in this strange area?
Blank.
That’s all they could come up with.
Speech was impossible too.
But letters?
They knew that.
So they conversed, trying to make sense of where they were.
Soon, they made their way through the gates.
They survived longer this time.
But eventually, they perished.
Painfully.

… … … … …
Liam and Ken woke up five hundred years later.
Now they were brothers.
They had a stronger idea of who they were this time.
That was nice.
Unfortunately, they hadn’t the slightest idea where, why, what and how they had gotten here.
When had they gotten here?
That also became an important question.
The reason?
They had aged by five years.
Conversing with each other, they did the best to make sense of where they were.
But nothing particularly worthwhile came out of their conversation.
So, they did the only thing they could do.
Walk right through the gates.
And yet, death, once again, reaped their souls.

Surrounded by a mist of clouds, lying unconsciously on the cloudy floor for the thousandth year, Liam’s and Ken’s fingers, twitched.
Twitching their eyelids a few times too, the youths, in almost instantaneous synchrony, shot up from the cloudy grounds!
Blinking their eyes a few times, trying to remember the last few tidbits that happened before they lost consciousness, the brothers soon realized that they had much bigger problems to deal with.
Looking at each other, realizing just how long their hair had become along with their currently mature features, akin to men in their late twenties, both tried to speak, only to realize, their ability to speak was gone!
Literally, as they tried to speak, no words or sound came out of their mouths.
That was the first, major issue.
They were speech-impaired.
But as if that was just the tip of the iceberg, one more thing became very obvious.
Just like their ability to speak was gone, they could not sense a single ounce of energy in their beings, one that they were still struggling to comprehend what exactly the energy was.
That too, was inaccessible, lost without any way to tap into it.
But more than that, more than the conundrum that their current situation had brought, they were both forced to place their attention somewhere else.
Right before them, towering to the watery skies above, was a glowing, gigantic white gate with multiple engravings on it, all of which was composed of different kinds of undecipherable runes…
Or were they languages?
Liam and Ken couldn’t say.
And yet, the gigantic door, seemed to be beckoning to them, inviting and tempting them to check what was behind its magnificence.
However, the youths willed themselves to stop moving towards it, mostly due to their conundrum, something they figured was much more important to deal with at the moment.
Why had they gotten so much older when they couldn’t even remember the last few tidbits of the events that happened?
Why was every single form of unexplainable energy they could harness, sealed off?
And where exactly in incarnation, was this darn place?
These, were all questions that they seemingly, had no answers to.
And so, being the cautious type that they were, instead of just jumping straight into the glowing gate that was literally beckoning to them with an almost inviting glow and energy, the brothers sat still.
Staring at themselves, hell-bent on finding a way to make sense of their current scenario, Liam and Ken, started to converse by drawing alphabets in the air.
[What was the last thing you remember?] Ken asked his brother.
[I don’t know.] Liam responded, a deep frown etched onto his mature features.
[How about you?] Liam questioned this time, one to which Ken replied;
[Neither do I.]
Sitting in silence for a few more minutes, the brothers tried their hardest to remember the last few things that had happened.
And yet, nothing changed, further adding even more to their puzzling situation.
A few more minutes of silence were shared between themselves and after a while, Ken spoke up, a much more important question surfacing in his mind, one that he couldn’t help but ask his brother;
[Say, what is the last thing that we do remember?]
Placing his hands on his chin, contemplating over those words, Liam soon realized, just like Ken, that there was something inherently wrong with their memories.
It was almost as if, almost everything they knew about themselves had been wiped clean, the only thing left, being their personalities.
No sooner had that realization dawned on them though, Liam gazed at his brother and then asked a very, very important question;
[What’s my name?].
