The name did roll off his tongue, but he preferred calling himself Nameless Death.

Nameless Death as a name somehow felt... fitting.

He checked what everything meant in the status.

It seemed he could not use River of Time, Tyrant, and Truth.

The reason was not meeting the pre-requiste such as not having the element upon which the Concept was based.

This was an important distinction. He could use Spells or techniques even if he did not have their affinities, but using Concepts was impossible.

"Well, I do have some proper techniques at least. I should be able to put up a proper fight with this much."

Nameless Death turned his attention to the red gemstone left behind by the Berserk.

Its surface was smooth, and a faint heat radiated from it.

"How do I use it?"

There was no instruction manual that came with it.

He tried different things. Turning it in his palm. Holding it to his forehead. Squeezing it. Channeling a bit of World Energy into it. Even dropping a drop of blood on it.

Nothing worked.

He paused and thought for a moment. Then he tried something else.

He probed the gemstone with his Intent.

That changed everything.

The moment his Intent touched the core of the stone, something clicked.

The gemstone pulsed once with a soft red glow, and then waves of information began to flow directly into his mind.

The flow wasn't overwhelming, but it was fast and dense.

He closed his eyes and let it come.

Among the flood of data, one phrase repeated itself more than once.

EverGrowth Soul.

Nameless Death opened his eyes slowly.

The name of the technique was strange enough. But what it did was stranger.

He stood there, unmoving, processing everything. For a while, he said nothing.

Eventually, he let out a breath.

"This is… insane."

The technique didn't function like a combat move or a Spell.

It wasn't something you activated in battle.

It was a soul-based technique, and it allowed one to accelerate their growth through manipulating Intent and the soul's natural behavior.

"Learning this will take a few hours," he said. "But I should do it."

He sat on the nearby stone, and placed the gemstone in front of him.

Then he started.

He spent the next four hours learning it in silence.

He didn't skip anything, and memorized every line of instruction, and detail about the soul's role in evolution written within the stone.

After four hours, a notification blinked into view.
