Extra's Descent-Chapter 166: Sovereign Fragment [2]
Emerging out of the portal, what greeted Amelia's sight was a dimly lit room.
"...."
And the room was in a poor state.
However, as her gaze landed on the figure laying down on the bed…
"No way."
Her eyes shot wide open.
"Brandon?!"
"Hey… Amelia."
Brandon waved with an awkward smile.
"...Long time no s—"
Immediately, Amelia ran up towards Brandon and hugged him tightly.
Sure, by instinct, she didn't truly believe he was dead. But seeing him here?
Alive and well?
It took her aback.
She was happy to see him. And happy for the fact that Belle still had another family member alive.
She wasn't alone with her mother.
But if he was alive all this time…
Then why is he staying here?
Shouldn't he have made his survival known?
Realizing such a fact, Amelia pulled away and looked at him seriously.
"I'm truly happy to see you, Brandon. But where have you been?"
"Uh…"
"He's been comatosed this whole time."
The woman who had brought her here's voice cut in their conversation.
Amelia's eyes widened and turned to look at the woman.
"What?!"
Then turned her head to look back at Brandon.
"Is this true?"
"...Yes. I just woke up."
"I see."
Now everything made sense. But for why he was comatosed, she had to ask.
As soon as she did ask, the woman introduced herself. She then began to recount everything that had happened on the day of the calamity.
From saving Brandon, to looking out for him everyday for nine months. She spared no details.
It left Amelia in shock. But if supplying mana to his core was all it needed to stabilize him, then she or Belle could do that.
There was no need for Ciel to do all this by herself.
But that was when Ciel revealed a certain fact that had finally left Amelia confused.
"Sovereign's Will?"
She inquired.
The hell was that.
And Ciel began to explain. Although she listened attentively, Amelia still couldn't comprehend anything.
Like…
"Sovereign Fragment?"
"Yes."
And again,
"What is that?"
Despite asking, she was familiar with the Sovereign's Fragment. After all, it was what the interface called itself.
It seemed like Ciel knew a lot. With such thoughts, she used it as a chance to find out more about the Sovereign's Fragment.
"I don't know much about it. If I'm going to be honest."
Ciel shook her head.
"But just know that only you alone have that special power."
"...."
She was taken aback.
But she was still unable to process everything Ciel had said. Just the fact that Brandon was actually still alive had already overwhelmed her.
"And why are you telling me all of this?"
She had only asked about what happened to Brandon. She didn't expect for Ciel to know about the Sovereign Fragment.
"Because you're the key to curing his Sovereign's Will."
"Tell me what I need to do."
There was no hesitation in her tone.
If she could cure whatever plagued Brandon, then she was all in for it.
Just imagining Belle's reaction that he was alive had made her feel somewhat excited.
The thought of reuniting the Locke family had made her heart feel warm.
She had no family left. She didn't want the same to happen to the Locke family.
"Like what I told you. Supply him with your mana."
"Is that it?"
Seems easy enough.
.
.
"Aghk…!"
Nevermind.
She began the process. Brandon laid on the bed as her hand was on his back, passing her mana onto him.
She could feel her body start to fatigue in each passing second.
Just from the first few seconds had already made her feel quite sore.
How the hell was Ciel able to do this everyday? freёweɓnovel.com
But Amelia persisted as she gritted her teeth.
Time passed like that, and before she realized it, the process was done.
At least, she thinks it was done.
"Haaa…."
After all, she had no mana left.
"Careful."
Her legs gave out, and she was about to hit the bed with her knee before Brandon caught her, holding her arms.
"Haa… Thanks."
Brandon nodded and helped her settle on the bed.

As soon as the process finished, he felt the fatigue in his body begin to settle.
In fact, he could now move his legs.
And so, he stood up.
He was comatosed, and scientifically he shouldn't be able to move around this easily.
But it seemed like what Amelia did had somehow worked to ease his muscles.
His body felt light.
But before he could celebrate, the system interface popped up.

"Oh."
A rain on his parade.
So this was still ongoing, huh?
"What's wrong?"
Amelia asked as she met his gaze.
He hurriedly closed his system.
"It's fine, Brandon. She has one too."
Ciel assured him.
He turned to look at Amelia and asked.
"Amelia, can you see the system-like interface?"
"Y-you have one too?"
She stammered.
After all, Ciel had only mentioned things such as 'Sovereign's Will', and 'Sovereign Fragment'.
But that didn't equate to the subject of the system interface.
It was quite refreshing to be able to talk about the system with someone else.
At that, the two began their long conversation. Although they couldn't see each other's system, Brandon still continued a walkthrough on every key detail of the system.
"So this means strength?"
"Yes."
"And this is agility?"
"Yes."
This.
That.
This?
But for her next question, Brandon couldn't find an answer to give.
"How can I increase these stats?"
"That… I'm not actually sure. Before it turned into the Sovereign's Will, there was a stat distribution feature."
"...."
"Sorry."
It was too technical.
"But basically…."
And he continued his explanations.
The two continued conversing for what seemed to be hours. And by the time they were finished, the sun was already up.
Turning his head to the side, it seemed like Ciel was asleep.
"...."
…She was drooling.
And this was supposed to be the Second Seat of a secret organization.
But Brandon truly appreciated her from the bottom of his heart.
If it weren't for Ciel, he wouldn't have known what would happen to him.
"...."
He tried to carry her, but it was to no avail. His strength still wasn't quite there at the moment.
But still…
He grabbed a pillow and a blanket from the bed and gently laid Ciel on the ground.
A pillow was on her head, and he draped a blanket on her to top it off.
"Huaamm…"
He stifled a yawn.
And as he turned his head to the side…
Amelia had fallen asleep as well.
Her legs were dangled on the bed as she laid on her side.
Thankfully, he found a set of clothes in the closet. Using those, he stacked a bunch of clothes to support Amelia's head and draped a long blazer on her.
And finally, it was his turn to sleep.
On the ground.
With only a towel to support his head.
