Extra's Harem: Invincibility Starts with Marriage and lots of Children-Chapter 84 - The Couple’s First Banter
'Damn it.'
I don't know how to describe this feeling; though I definitely did not feel hurt or devastated, hearing her say that made me uncomfortable enough to feel a slight ache in my heart, which soon disappeared as I turned towards Olea, who was looking back at me with a confused expression in her dirtied state.
Lying there, while trying to lift her with the support of her hand, the white fabric of her dress was clearly dusted, and her mask was nearly damp from the blood she coughed, yet it covered her face enough to show those exhausted eyes, which seemed to tremble as she looked at me in a way she never had before.
"What are you looking at, huh?" I moved while ruffling my hair as I knelt down, knowing I would have to talk with Aleriana afterwards. My priority was to at least heal these two women who needed my attention first.
'What to do? I need to get used to seeing my wives fighting with each other, haha.'
:: Just until the day you die, so not long... ::
'Hm?' I felt a soft pull on my hair as Valeriana finally seemed to wake up.
The first thing she did was try to annoy me, but it seemed I had become immune to her words, making me just ignore her before shifting my focus back to these two women.
"Why did you do that?" Olea was the first to inquire, as I expected it to be her. Considering Prista was probably not even in a state to speak, let alone ask me anything, after getting herself beaten to death from just one inquiry.
I took a peek at her, giving a side glance. What I met with was clenched jaws, bitten lips, and a glare shot towards me even in that bloody state, clearly looking at me with a glare while wanting to hear the answer to Olea's question.
Seeing that she appeared more angry than curious, I naturally understood that it was just one of her characteristics and the past experiences she inherited from the Empress, where she hated being saved by someone—a distorted emotion inherited in her in the form of anger rather than the guilt the original Empress felt.
"Because you both are beautiful?" I thought of many things, like using this opportunity to make myself appear like a hero in front of them, about how I saved them, and maybe planting a seed of love and all.
But thinking that I first needed to sort out the mess I created by getting involved in friendly fire with my wife, I should control my urges.
'....'
"Nonsense!" Prista hissed.
"What? Are you not beautiful?" I raised my eyebrow, giving a confused look.
Updat𝓮d from frёewebnoѵēl.com.
"You are just trying to hide the real reason?" Prista, as if already confident enough that she wasn't beautiful, seemed to catch fire and explode with an enraged tone.
Even though her body was a mess, she seemed to dislike the way I helped her and was not even giving a proper reply regarding my intentions behind helping her.
Something her mind was probably struggling with.
"I already told you..." I said as I knelt, grabbed her hand, considering she was already in a state to not retaliate as she had before when she had swung her sword at my hand without a thread of mercy.
I was kind enough and generous to support her through my shoulder before helping her to stand, continuing, "It's a waste to see beauties just die."
I helped her to a nearby platform, letting her sit there within the training arena before moving back towards Olea, who was on her hands and knees trying to lift herself.
I assisted her in the same way I had helped the first woman, supporting her before letting her sit on the platform beside Prista.
"Tell me your real intentions, Kyle. You cannot mask your true—" Prista was clearly the one trying to fight her senses, which were sending signals to her mind that I was trying to help her out of kindness or something similar, contrasting with her mind that wanted to not believe and assume my ulterior motives.
"I love you," I said, interrupting her in the middle before allowing my gaze to meet her eyes. Both of our eyes met, and she was naturally beautiful; a hell of a sight, but the blink of her eyes and paused lips made her face overall look funny.
"Hm, now be quiet." I found it effective to simply say these words, which could easily bring someone's downfall. I turned my gaze to Olea, who also seemed surprised, looking at me confessing to Prista. Her expression seemed to label me as some playboy going around flirting with women.
But who could tell her that I didn't know any other way to silence these overpowered killer women who could easily be offended and look down on everyone, especially someone like me, a mortal.
"Y-you..." Olea clearly wanted to speak, but given that I was not in a state to have a chit-chat with this woman living behind my wife, I took out a dimensional ring from my inventory, retrieved from the dead bodies of those six.
Initially, I had already given one ring out of the six to the slave I met at the entrance of the capital city, leaving behind only five with me, which were useless to me since I did not possess the internal energy to open them.
Naturally, I should have asked my wife to take them, and I was going to reveal Kyle's secret to at least win her trust.
But given the state of these two women who were beaten to a pulp, I needed to get some healing potions or something to preserve their lives; otherwise, who knows what might happen if someone tried to take advantage of this opportunity given their broken state?
There were already too many enemies who would want to see them in a weakened condition.
"Hm, tell me about the contents of this ring," I said, handing it to Olea to at least make her forget about the useless questions that would only lead to distraction and delay me from going back to my wife.
"...." Olea looked blankly at me, gazing between me and the ring as she stretched her hand, holding it. A sharp glow and a flicker of light seemed to cross through it as she hesitated, maybe due to my gesture.
"If you find something in it, use it," I stated, giving her a nod as her blank look shifted between the ring and me.
Maybe she had found something in it, considering it belonged to one of those four bodyguards. Most likely, they would have hidden potions in it.
"Use what? Hundreds of exorcism talisman?" Olea's eyes twitched as she clenched her fist, as if trying to hold herself back for some reason. This caused me to tilt my head, feeling confused about why she would react that way to an exorcism talisman.
'!?'
"SO, THIS WAS YOUR REAL AIM ALL ALONG!" Breaking that confused moment was Prista's yell; she spoke up loudly from her seated position despite being injured.
It were as if she had figured out my ulterior motives for helping them, and I instantly looked toward her, trying to understand what her messed-up brain had processed.
"So you wanted to trap the Guild Leader of the Ghost Sect into touching the exorcism talismans!!"
'Eh? What?'
