Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 90: Phasebound Sanctum [2]
Chapter 90: Phasebound Sanctum [2]
As for the aspect chambers of the magic related aspects? They need to create, perform, experiment, on those aspect chambers, to create something or solve problems. Depending on what their aspect is or what problem they are facing.
On every floor of the aspect chambers there will be a new Nexus core added with the same gas like mana. So a second phase Seeker in that sense should have 4 nexus cores in total. The surface chamber will have 2 floors and underground chamber will also have 2 floors then, having one Nexus core on each floor making it a total of 4 nexus cores.
Another issue to keep in mind is that to advance to the next phase as a Seeker, you first need to complete the challenges of the last floor in both your aspect chambers. Only then, by accomplishing a certain amount of achievement, the world Will shall help you convert all the nexus cores’ crystalline energies to the next state.
But there are other complications here as well, let’s say someone has the aspects,
Saint (4-star) + Fighter (1-star)
So, the total potential of the said person is up to the 5th phase. But his aspect chamber of the Fighter aspect will always remain as a mere 1 floor when he advances to the 2nd phase and above. For those reasons, because of the disparity in the levels of both of his aspect chambers, he will be much weaker than someone in later stages who has equal floors on both of his aspect chambers.
Because of all these reasons, Axel had no choice but to get the bloodline of a demon. The other races, because of their bloodline they are always destined to awaken at least a 3 star aspect, and every dragon or demon would always awaken the 4 star aspect, they are simply destined to be strong right from the birth. Even without that advantage because of their racial superiority, those races are much much stronger compared to humans in the same power level.
Not to mention humans live in the one side of the continent which has the lowest level of energy density. Professor Darwin also explained that they all need to attend the specific lectures of the specific aspects they have. But there are some general lectures that they all must attend.
Missing lectures without any proper or excusable reason will result in a point deduction. The professor also warned them to never discuss the specifics or details of their Phasebound Sanctum with anyone. The professor then proceeded to show everyone how to enter your Sanctum, and you must only enter your sanctum in a completely secure location, because you will be vulnerable for the period when your consciousness enters the Sanctum.
"Close your eyes, relax your mind and body, no further thoughts, utter the words towards prime nexus after opening your Nexus Panel, ’Enter Sanctum’."
Axel closed his eyes and did just that. Opening the Nexus panel, he uttered softly, "Enter Sanctum."
He felt his consciousness pulled by something unknown, the sensation was quite different from what he is used to when entering the Soul space. His eyes abruptly opened wide and he found himself in front of a massive looking Sanctum, it was extremely large intricate in design but slightly ominous as well as advance looking.
All over the structure there were golden runes running in a complex pattern. Some sections of the sanctum seem reddish as blood had been spilled on it, but got dried because of the long passing of the time.
He looked around the sanctum, and it was simply barren land as far as he could see, nothing but barren land. High in the sky there was the similar red sun, it was exuding red light, he could vaguely discern the rune on the very center of the red sun, but he had to avert his eyes and could not look at it.
With some hesitation, he walked closer to the ginormous door of the Sanctum. He slowly placed his hand on the door, and from the point of contact, all over the Sanctum, the golden runes started to light up as the gigantic structure shook for a moment.
Eventually, the massive 5-meter-tall and 3-meter-wide doors started opening inwards with a loud stone creaking noise. He hesitatingly stepped forward as a barrier was blocking his sight from seeing what was on the insides.
And what he saw inside took his breath away, a highly advanced and sophisticated looking rune engravement room, rune engravement pen, mana ink and everything was right there. Calling it a room is an understatement. For a moment, it brought out his memories of the trial, how many hours, days even years he continued to do the engravings one after another.
But in the end, his brother was dead, he felt sorry for the kid named Rugen who was manipulated by the Librarian’s illusions. With a sigh, he shook off those thoughts. There was no need to think of those bad memories.
He looked around and finally saw the so-called Nexus core. It was like a dimly lit white ball. Gases of mana were dancing around within the Core, which looked like it had a half-meter radius, perhaps. Then saw a door connected to the engravement room, on one side.
He went closer and tried to open the door, but was unable to. For a moment he thought if this was the path to his secondary aspect chamber, but then shook his head, that should not be the case. He closed his eyes and tried to think that he wants to go to his secondary aspect chamber, maybe the sanctum will automatically show him the path.
Because that’s what Lucian did, as expected, it worked like a charm. Right beneath him, a doorway opened, going beneath. Again, he wasn’t able to see. Was he supposed to jump down? With a shrug, he did just that. He was a bit unsure since the aspect chamber of a demon was never discussed within the story.
And the moment he passed through, he found himself standing....
On a large, slightly uneven terrain, but it was littered with corpses. It looked like the aftermath of an enormous war or something. Warriors, mages, humans, and many other species are all dead, lying down.
There was a small river in the distance, and that itself had turned blood red, from all the bleeding of the dead bodies. Strange, he did not feel revolted, disgusted, or any negative emotions. Rather, it was, kind of... welcoming?, which made his eyes narrow; he was totally wandering in the uncharted territories here, having no prior information.
Suddenly, a groggy and sinister voice spoke from behind, "Do you like it? It feels calming, strangely, doesn’t it?"
Axel hurriedly turned back with a wary expression, and something akin to a demon, no, it was him, in his demonic form, most likely. The demon spoke, "Yes, I am you. The demon inside of you."
"I am the sin that exists within you."
"What sin?" asked Axel incredulously.
But the demon asked back, "You did not answer my question?"
Axel frowned then said, "No, I am not a psychopath, I don’t belong in the middle of a battlefield filled with thousands of dead bodies."
The demon chuckled in dark amusement and said, "But this is what you wish for, the consequences of your actions, this is what you will get, for the things you wish for."
His frown deepened at that response, his eyes narrowed, and a dangerous gleam showed in his eyes as he said, "You better stop talking cryptically and say what you have to straight to my face."
The demon smiled as its sinister eyes glowed menacingly. It said, gazing deep into his eyes,
"Be careful of what you wish for."
Right then his vision darkened, and he found himself back in class, but everyone was already out of their sanctum and they were all looking at him strangely, only the Valkyrie was not looking at him, as if she was not worth his attention, a silver of disappointment flashed through him, but that soon vanished as he turned towards Heinz with a questioning look, but it was the professor who answered him,
"Mr. Axel, you were not waking up, that is all. But are you alright?"
"Uh, yes, of course, I am alright," stated Axel, trying to be as calm as possible.
The professor asked again, "Could I ask for the reason why it took so long for you to come out?"
Axel spoke while scratching his head, "Nothing much, I was just looking around my aspect chambers, it all looked very captivating."
Listening to his statement, someone laughed out aloud, "What are you? A country bumpkin?"
Many other heirs hailing from high status, similar to Ken, joined in on the mocking laughter towards Axel, his expression turned cold as he looked directly into Ken’s eyes. His anger rose just looking at the arrogant face of that trash. But he tactfully looked away, not willing to garner any more attention.
Ken snickered seeing that gesture, but he did not like the defiant look that son of a hoe gave him, he made note in his mind, to beat the shit out of that bastard when the time is right. Lucian watched all this with an uninterested look. Similar to the Valkyrie herself. He only glared at his cousin Ken, but the latter simply ignored it.
