Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 259: Vines
Reeva was not in a good, mood. They had to travel along the mountain, trying to find a gap in these vine walls. However, they only saw endless walls of vine reach across the mountain.
If Reeva was alone, he’d think that this place was the sun god heaven where the field of reed stretched across.
"Let’s burn it"
After seeing how far the wall went, Reeva made a decision. It would take them far less time trying to burn through this than trying to find an opening. The sun god flames was made for this kind of thing.
Max nodded to one of the priests and they lit up a torch. The torch was then passed around another, creating a whole lot of people with burning yellow flame at their disposal. They quickly try to burn down the vines.
As the flame touched the vines, it retracted. This startled the nearest person a bit, however, they quickly realized that this was actually good. The vines reacted like a cat when burned by fire.
They tried to escape from it but failed miserably. The people start getting more and more cocky, the knight frail the fire around, and everything retracts back. But some of the fire burnt the tree, leaving a black mark in the endless collection of vines.
Before long the wall of vines had a hole in it, a hole big enough to fit every single one of them inside.
"Let’s go"
Reeva takes the lead, they need to get out of Duranberg fast. If the beast didn’t kill them in here, then hunger will. So he just needed to take the chance and get to the other side before that happened.
As they entered the wall of vines, Max and Quin maintained their highest level of awareness. By evading the fire, it had demonstrated that it still had some life. One could reasonably assume that this vine was a monster of some sort. They are prepared to take a significant risk with Reeva.
The entire group eventually went inside after a minute. Compared to the frigid temperature outside, the air felt a little warmer. This wall of vines was illuminated by the yellow torch.
The brown vine within was covered in thorns, and the vines slammed into one another to form a dense wall. When the tunnel was once again obscured by a vine, darkness descended.
This situation unsettled everyone in the group since they felt like they could be attacked anytime. But they were desperate enough to go through this collection of vines.
"Do you think we’d make it?"
Reeva quietly discussed such a matter with Quina and MAx, if the people following them heard, they would lose quite a bit of confidence in Reeva’s direction.
"At most a way, I didn’t know any of mystic power that could have done this."
Quin provided the most accurate information he could. They must have used an immense amount of mystic force to construct a wall this long and wide. This indicates that the vines’ owner was a seven-circle entity or just a plain demon that they were dealing with. But he didn’t think it was so simple to find a seventh circle expert.

"Knights! Be on your guard"
Max shouted from the front. Reeva and Quin’s expressions became serious as they observed what Max was seeing. The vine begins to redirect them in a specific direction. This could be a coincidence, but he knew better than to let their guard down.
The vine began snaking around like a genuine one. It attempted to identify and exploit their vulnerability before engaging in combat.
The vine unexpectedly jumped upon one of the knights and quickly drew their attention. However, the knight reacted quickly since he was completely focused on the vines. He quickly blocked it with his sword.
"Fire!"
The knight yelled out, his hand stretched, wanting a touch.
The vine’s attack on him was primarily motivated by one fact. There was no torch for him. He was one of the fortunate knights who had none on him. The knight who had one swiftly passed it on, and the knights quickly waved it around. They eventually scared it away.
"Praise the sun!"
They didn’t forget that he was alive thanks to God, who sent him to this squad. More than that they also got quite a few humourous moments.
"Keep your torch ready," Quin said again because some of the knights started to lax.
"You could take my torch." When they were handling it out, Reeva also got one, even though he was sitting behind Max who already had one.
"No sir. please don’t give the torch to me."
"I insisted," Reeva said with a smile "The torch will be more useful in your hands."
The knight felt warm knowing the apostle cared so much about them. They were just knights, not the power of the sun god, and they were regarded with the same reverence as priests.
If this was not honor, He didn’t know what is.
However, the happy mood lasted only a short time before the vine began its attacks. Following the failure of the first one. One of the vines was now attempting to eliminate the lights and civilians.
They approached from every aspect and position the vine could occupy. The knights and some locals cleared it and began to walk forward. Quin completed most of the job, as he always does.
The brown priest word play was nice and destructive. He slices through the vine without using a mystic power even once. both knights and civilians were impressed by such a performance.
They too dreamt of the day they had that kind of power, to cut down any enemies that came his way.
However, no matter how much he cleared the vines, a new one took its place in less than a second. The only way to make progress was to make a fire that burned brighter or a plant plague that killed off the plant instantly.
"Watch out!"
One of them yelled out when weird things started to fly out of the vines. It looked like a bag of rice but upon inspection, one could see that there was something deeply wrong about this bag.
