Extra's Strategy: Cultivate Protagonists, Become Invincible-Chapter 157: A Discourse To Rip The Sky
Chapter 157: A Discourse To Rip The Sky
"If a great cultivator of that supreme realm of power cultivates the language of laws and manages to pull off the design and activation of a self-made law that nullifies the force of gravity of the planet, this would approximately be the effect.
"Everything that’s not anchored to the surface of the soil would be thrown off the planet in a straight trajectory, launched directly out of the atmosphere. Even the air and the water on the surface of the planet would share the same fate.
"The soil itself would be ruined, with its crust ripped apart and the molten core erupting violently. The very trajectory of the planet would veer off, leading to high possibilities of colliding with other stellar bodies. freeweɓnøvel~com
"Within the first ten minutes, the planet would become unsuitable for all life under the Dao Genesis realm! And within a year’s time, it might just be destroyed into smithereens!
"So, as you can see, messing with a single cosmic law can easily wipe off all life from the planet’s face and even the planet itself. But to achieve this feat, as I’ve stressed earlier, you’d need not just unimaginable skill and cultivation, but also a supply of fuel beyond your comprehension.
"The laws of the cosmos can be likened to elastic bands. With some force, you can stretch them a little, but they will return to their original forms the moment you stop applying external force.
"This is how all laws operate so that simple, isolated manipulations by few cultivators cannot destroy the balance that has been created through a billion-year-old growth."
At some point during Xuanyuan Zhou’s speech, the sun had donned a red apparel, flooding the world with its own moment of fashion. But this was just natural during dusk. What was unnatural was the legion of nimbostratus clouds that began to shroud the sky over the mountains. Faint purple streaks of lightning flashed across the sea of clouds, yet no sounds reached the audience’s ears.
Han Xuhan would have missed the detail too, had it not been for the fact that he was able to dissociate his attention from the contents of Xuanyuan Zhou’s speech. The appreciation and awe he felt at this young lady was overwhelming!
What a speech! What a strategy!
Giving the crowd an insight into concepts so esoteric on the very first lesson, as if cultivating the language of laws and wielding world-ending power were two synonymous concepts... Hahahaha!
Miss Xuanyuan Zhou, I apologize for doubting you! I wasn’t familiar with your game!
But while he was holding back his laugh, his gaze fell on the darkening sky over the mountains, and he noticed the silent, churning thunder within the clouds.
A bad premonition grew in his heart immediately. He had studied about various categories of tribulation clouds during his ventures into the archives. These clouds overhead bore some resemblance to a certain type...
While he was mulling over the possibilities that could summon tribulation clouds, the ringing sound of a guzheng broke his chain of thoughts.
Eyes wide, Han Xuhan watched in dumbfounded confusion as Xuanyuan Zhou sat on the grass and twirled her fingers over the strings of a large guzheng on her lap.
Where did that thing come from? You can’t just hide something that big in your pockets!
Judging by the gasps resounding among the audience, he wasn’t the only one caught off guard. But Xuanyuan Zhou’s guzheng rang out incessantly, harmonized with her voice so well that her words became enveloped by a surreal quality.
"Disciples, if a cultivator can grow strong enough to meddle with the laws of an entire planet, what’s stopping them from growing strong enough to meddle with the laws of an entire macrocosm? All over the world, the law of gravity is the same one, operating with different materials and conditions. Like these strings across my guzheng, the law of gravity stretches to every corner of the universe where matter exists."
Twangs originating from the strings struck his ears like sea tides in a storm. Han Xuhan couldn’t even form a coherent thought anymore, his mind being pressured into listening to the lecture in a subtle, yet overwhelmingly forceful manner.
"All laws originate from one primordial source, and thus they are connected. Pluck each string of a guzheng, and a sound shall be the effect of your actions, just like the manipulation of a law. But if all strings are connected, the echo will resound from all of them. Harmony, or disharmony, it all depends on how you pluck the strings. And that is where we law cultivators stand."
The unnaturally quick dusk was transitioning into a starless clouded night, accompanied by the nonstop waves of the guzheng’s ringing. In the dull, static corner of his mind that was still struggling against the hypnotic music, Han Xuhan noted the lack of nature’s presence in the mountains.
Birds did not screech while flying back to their homes. Bats couldn’t be seen leaping across the trees, and the insects that kept the night alive were silent as well. The observation made his confusion and dread grow even more.
"The universe as we Law Cultivators see it, is an instrument full of strings, and the language of laws is our fingers trailing across their body, eliciting music that pleases our senses and imposes our will upon the world.
"Whether you produce harmony or disharmony, it all depends on your skillful fingers and the state of your heart. But remember this, disciples! Laws have come to exist because the universe was born, and the universe now exists because laws continue to function. We, the Law Cultivators, are but admirers of this eon-spanning harmony, doing our best to learn from it and through the process, evolve into a form closer to Celestialdom!"
Soundless lightning tore through the clouds and blinded the audience as she finished her discourse, falling right on top of Xuanyuan Zhou’s silhouette, repeatedly.
Yet the carnage the onlookers expected to see did not take place. Rather, the aura of a breakthrough spread across the mountains, enveloping their senses once more while the sound of the guzheng’s strings died down.
Compared to regular breakthroughs, this aura felt somewhat different, yet Han Xuhan couldn’t exactly figure out the reason behind this sense of discrepancy.
But as his vision and rationality returned to full performance, only one thought occupied his mind.
"What the fuck have I done...? What disaster did I invite this time? Good heavens!"
