Chapter 568: Chapter 463_3

The two of them hadn’t seen each other for a few days again.

Bao Ye saying he didn’t miss her was a lie; his eyes had shadows under them and without her by his side, he couldn’t even sleep well at night.

"Miss..."

Bao Ye licked his lips, his eyes shimmering, staring directly at her, then spat out a word: "You."

Two words, brief and straightforward.

Jiang Ruan listened, her cheeks instantly turning red, and she glared at him with feigned anger, "Pervert."

Bao Ye chuckled, "Only a pervert for you."

"What, don’t you like it?"

Jiang Ruan hugged her phone, lying on the bed, her long hair spread on the soft sheets, and deliberately mimicked his way of speaking, "Not liking it...is a lie."

Bao Ye curled his lips, "Tsk."

"Already learned it?"

"Of course," Jiang Ruan said, "I’m just following your lead."

Bao Ye loved hearing this.

Lying alone on the big bed in the bedroom, Jiang Ruan looked at the man and couldn’t help but ask, "How’s everything going over there? When do you plan to come back?"

Bao Ye’s eyes flashed a smile, "What, you miss me?"

Jiang Ruan played it tough, "It’s okay."

"Everything is going smoothly, but there are still some details to finalize. I’ll probably have to stay here for another week."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Ruan’s eyes widened immediately.

"Oh."

"Another week, huh."

She thought he might be back in two or three days at most.

Adding it up, he’s already been gone for ten days.

So that would be seventeen days in total.

Over half a month...

Detecting the lament in her words, Bao Ye’s mood improved significantly, and his tone turned a lot lighter.

"I’ll try to speed things up, finish the work here soon, and come back."

No one was in the office, and he withdrew his gaze, teasing her with a smile, "You’re really missing me, huh, baby?"

The way he emphasized the word "baby" was flirtatious, to say the least.

"I’m not," Jiang Ruan rolled on the bed twice, snorting, "Who’s missing you."

"It’s just that when you’re not at home, I feel like something’s missing, especially at night. I’m not used to sleeping without holding you."

Jiang Ruan summarized, "So it’s all your fault."

Bao Ye laughed with exasperation; how was this his fault?

But it’s true; it became a habit.

Not only for her but for him as well.

"Is it just me holding you that you’re thinking about, nothing else?" Bao Ye teased her pointedly.

The implication was clear.

Jiang Ruan’s ears turned even warmer, quickly replying, "No."

"Tsk," Bao Ye said, "Such a quick response, I must’ve hit the nail on the head."

He picked up the phone, bringing it closer to himself.

Looking at his handsome face, his hair styled with gel, from this angle, he was exceptionally dashing.

This reminded Jiang Ruan of certain moments between them; he had the same angle, but his expression wasn’t so calm then.

His passionate look was vivid in Jiang Ruan’s memory.

Gathering her thoughts, Jiang Ruan bit her lip, softly asking him, "And you, do you miss me?"

Bao Ye was straightforward, "Yes."

"Not just thinking about it at night, but during the day in meetings or while eating, I’m thinking about finishing the work here quickly and then going back to you... and doing a certain activity."

Jiang Ruan listened attentively to the earlier part.

Who would have thought, there was such a sudden twist in the end.

The man’s words were blatant, the meaning exceedingly straightforward.

Jiang Ruan couldn’t handle it, her small face flushed as she called out to him, "Bao Ye!"

Then softly added, "Can you not talk so bluntly?"

Really.

He made her so embarrassed.

She heard Bao Ye’s low chuckle by her ear, "With my wife, what can’t be said?"

"Is this too blunt, baby?"

Jiang Ruan covered her face, her cheeks burning.

"Are you shy?"

Bao Ye asked, surprisingly, "How is your skin still so thin?"

Jiang Ruan released her hands, retorting with puffed cheeks, "Not as thick as yours."

The more she thought about his earlier words, the more her face flushed and her heart raced, rolling a few times on the bed.

She tousled her messy hair, gritting her teeth, commenting on the man, "Bao Ye, you’re too wicked."

Hearing this, Bao Ye only watched her with a smile in his eyes, not refuting.

Just as he was about to say something, a knock on the door interrupted them.

"Knock knock."

"Mr. Bao, are you there?"

A female voice came from outside.

Of course, it reached Jiang Ruan’s ears too.

Knowing he had work to do, Jiang Ruan sensibly said, "Then you should get busy, I’ll hang up first."

But she heard Bao Ye say, "No need."

Jiang Ruan: "???"

"Do you want me to watch you work?"

Bao Ye chuckled lightly, "Don’t you want to?"

Jiang Ruan fell silent, mumbling, she indeed wanted to.

After all, she couldn’t sleep now either.

Then she heard Bao Ye say, "Come in."

The playful tone he had with her was gone.

He had returned to his usual cold demeanor.
