Farming Games are All About Grinding-Chapter 28: Beautiful People, Delicious Food, Scenic Views
Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Beautiful People, Delicious Food, Scenic Views
"This system doesn't have any flaws aside from the grind." Han Qiwu was quite satisfied and went to the warehouse to haul out eight pieces of [Wood].
Over these past few days of tree-chopping, Han Qiwu noticed that the trees spawning in the courtyard seemed to belong to several different species, and the wood's colors varied as well.
The wood initially appeared as a perfectly rectangular block, approximately 80cm in length, and about 60cm in both width and height, with smooth edges.
Four pieces of wood made up one layer, and eight pieces formed a two-layer structure.
A simple fish preparation station was quickly set up, and in a little while, Han Qiwu planned to use it to cut the prized belly.
Feeling prepared, Han Qiwu contentedly began performing his body-strengthening exercises.
After half an hour, Han Qiwu barely managed to complete all ten movements, and the skill experience for "Body Strengthening" in his character menu increased to 89.
Victory was within sight!

"Should I just grind until I level up?" A thought popped into Han Qiwu's mind.
*Knock knock knock*
"Han Qiwu, are you home?" Tang Qingying's voice carried in through the door.
Han Qiwu immediately dismissed the idea he'd just had.
Was tuna sashimi not delicious? Was Mr. Tang not attractive?
What was he doing thinking about grinding away at a game!
"Coming, coming." Han Qiwu quickly answered and opened the door.
A down jacket, jeans, and chunky sneakers—Tang Qingying's simple outfit in no way diminished her charm. One glance and you couldn't look away.
"The picket fence is nice. Parking outside should be fine, right?" Tang Qingying turned toward her car's trunk and pulled out a large bag.
"I brought some cured meat and vacuum-sealed rabbit heads. This brand is excellent; I eat it often."
Han Qiwu hurried over to take it. Oh boy, this thing was at least 20 pounds.
Mr. Tang truly gave gifts with flair.
"Thanks, Teacher. Please come in. The fish head soup is ready. I'll prepare some sashimi and grilled tuna liver so we can start eating." Han Qiwu led Tang Qingying into the courtyard.
"Let me see what tuna you caught first. This season, it's probably albacore, right? Yellowfin shouldn't have migrated back here yet." Tang Qingying asked curiously.
"Correct, it's albacore, about one and a half meters long." Han Qiwu pulled out his phone to show Tang Qingying a photo.
"Whoa, that's huge! You've got some skills!" Tang Qingying exclaimed as she patted Han Qiwu's shoulder in surprise. "I brought soy sauce and wasabi from Japan as a gift; let's try them later."
Han Qiwu shook his head mysteriously. "Let's try my secret sauce first."
"Sure thing!" Tang Qingying wasn't picky about such stuff. Whatever tasted better was what she preferred.
Han Qiwu led Tang Qingying to the fish preparation station.
"Mr. Tang, you can just sit over there. Do you want to start with the sashimi or the fish head soup?" Han Qiwu asked.
"Sashimi first. I'm not hungry for the soup yet." Tang Qingying's eyes lit up at the sight of the massive tuna.
She had eaten a lot of sashimi over the years, but no high-end sashimi restaurant would ever carve up an entire fish right in front of you.
"Han Qiwu, breaking down a tuna is complicated, isn't it? Do you need my help?" Tang Qingying rolled up her sleeves, revealing a fair, slender forearm.
"No, no, it's fine, Teacher. You might catch a chill. I can handle this myself." Han Qiwu went to the kitchen and brought out two knives—a pointed knife for skinning and a chef's knife for slicing thin strips.
Tang Qingying's concern wasn't unwarranted. Even in professional tuna shops, breaking down a tuna was a labor-intensive task requiring multiple types of knives and at least four or five people working in shifts.
*Shing*
A cold gleam flashed as Han Qiwu gently pushed the fish bone with his fingertip. The pink flesh cascaded apart from the center, an incredibly striking sight.
"Whoa!! Amazing!" Tang Qingying clapped her hands in delight and quickly pulled out her phone to record the scene. In her eyes, her student seemed more and more enigmatic.
Han Qiwu lightly tapped the fish's body, gauging the state of its bones. Every fish had unique bone structures, and only by understanding them could one carve out perfect slices.
This time, Han Qiwu planned to extract the best cuts from two prized sections of the belly for sashimi.
One section was the "marbled cut," where the fat formed frost-like patterns. The flesh was soft, with the fat seamlessly integrated into the meat, free of any tough sinews.
The other section was the "belly fold," located on the bottom edge of the tuna's abdomen. This part was rich in fat and had prominent sinews. Smaller tuna had narrower sinew gaps, while larger ones had wider gaps.
Both cuts were luxuriously tender with unique textures—rare culinary treasures.
Five minutes later, Han Qiwu produced two simple white porcelain plates—one with marbled cuts, the other with belly folds. On the side were condiment dishes filled with wild chive flower sauce. Just in case, Han Qiwu also included some of the condiments brought by Tang Qingying.
"It's ready to taste." Han Qiwu gestured to the two plates of sashimi with his right hand.
Tang Qingying nodded, picked up a piece of marbled sashimi, dipped it lightly into the wild chive flower sauce, and placed it in her mouth.
At first bite, the lusciousness of the marbled cut stood out, interspersed with the spiciness of the wild chive flower. It was precisely this spiciness that highlighted the sweetness of the fish meat.
A layer of sweetness, followed by a layer of spice, wrapped together as the generous piece of fish quietly slid down her throat.
"How is it?" Han Qiwu asked anxiously from the side.
Tang Qingying gave an enthusiastic nod and a thumbs-up. "This is the most delicious fish I've ever had. The freshness of the fish is one thing, but your knife skills are truly remarkable. I'm very curious, Han Qiwu, where did you learn to handle a blade like that?"
"Oh, at New Oriental Culinary School," Han Qiwu replied offhandedly. "If it's tasty, have more. If it's not enough, I'll cut more."
*Ding*
The oven beeped.
Han Qiwu went over and brought back the grilled tuna liver. The preparation was simple: fresh tuna liver sliced thin, topped with onions and black pepper, and lightly roasted.
"The tuna liver is done roasting. This dish tastes great too; give it a try."
Tang Qingying looked eager, picking up a piece and savoring it slowly. Unlike the richness of the fish meat, the tuna liver had a delicate texture, as if countless tiny granules were sliding across her tongue. Its taste was novel, with the onions and black pepper eliminating any trace of fishiness and adding a deep, smoky aroma.
"I also want to enroll at New Oriental!" Tang Qingying's eyes sparkled more brightly with every bite. "What about fishing? Did you learn that at New Oriental too?"
"Cough, cough. Fishing is from years of practice—over a decade," Han Qiwu quickly clarified, seeing that his teacher was taking him seriously.
What a joke. If he actually convinced Mr. Tang to go enroll at New Oriental Culinary School, the principal might expel Han Qiwu on the spot.
"Fine... In that case, if you make anything delicious in the future, can you invite me more often? I'll pay for it." Tang Qingying said earnestly. "After eating your cooking, I feel like I can't stomach the same dishes from anyone else."
Han Qiwu was momentarily stunned by this. Mr. Tang speaks so directly?
Is this... Could this be that legendary feeling?
