Chapter 368 - Buying A House

Returning after an hour, Michael came back to the apartment.

He came out of the bathroom looking fresh with a towel wrapped around his waist and showing off his almost perfect masculine body with that perfectly shaped six pack!

"Hmm...are they coming home late?"

Michael mumbled to himself while drying his hair with a towel as he entered his room.

"Now that I think about it, I need to go to the university tomorrow. I'll probably get some punishment for not attending the first week of classes"

He couldn't help but laugh to himself while getting dressed, as he really wasn't expecting that he'd still be attending university at his age.

After all, he's already twenty seven, and he doesn't have that much motivation of going to university unlike the younger teens.

As they're probably attending university to either study or just to have fun at parties, and get laid drunk!

"What's more, it's been a while since I've gotten a request from the organization. Did Charon forget about me?"

Achoo!

"Is someone talking bad about right now?"

While arranging some documents, Charon couldn't help but let out a powerful sneeze, followed by a frown.

As the faces of people whom he made enemies with surfaced in his mind.

"I have too many enemies that's it's probably all of them"

Charon let out a dry cold laugh.

Michael is currently at the kitchen countertop and sitting before his laptop, and currently scrolling through the Item Market, looking for things that might be useful for him.

"All of the items I've seen so far are just around mid 30s, and not one have I seen an item around the level 40s. Those large guilds are probably monopolizing them and doesn't want to sell them"

"And it's not like I'm one to talk but, there's really nothing noteworthy here, except for those interesting mounts though, which just made me remember about that Drake Egg again. How frustrating!"

He really felt frustrated, Michael wanted to end the quest quickly, but he's lacking a lot of necessary equipment that could match his current level.

And even though he has an amazing class. It still relies on herb discovery with high ratings, and rare herbs only add a stat or two.

It's not like Epic and Legendary herbs are weeds that can be found anywhere where your eyes can see.

"I wouldn't be in this mess if Sofia didn't threaten me to head to the Wildlands to hatch the egg"

Remembering that night he had a conversation with the Frost Dragon Sofia, he couldn't help but get angry when he remembered that subtle threat she made to him before he walked out of that door that night.

Which made him left wondering what's so special with that Drake Egg.

"Anyway, Amanda is busy with the game lately that she barely contacted me today"

Michael looked at his phone, and had the urge to call his girlfriend, but resisted it as he thought she might still be stuck with rebellion at Pan Kingdom.

Ding!

Michael is watching some clips of famous players in the game doing some pvp, and giving tips about hunting this monster and that monster when his phone suddenly rang with a familiar tone.

"Hmmm?"

He raised an eyebrow when he saw that the notification came from the organization that a job has been assigned to him, which he was just complaining about not getting one earlier.

And now, it seems god has answered his wishes!

"A job in the Republic of Joseon? So far away? I've never been there before"

He couldn't understand why they gave it to him when he couldn't even speak their language.

"Wouldn't it have been better if they give this job to someone from there, or someone who could speak Hangul? Why give it to me? These people are sometimes really frustrating too. I even have to attend Uni tomorrow!"

Michael could only release a dry laugh as he wasn't expecting something like this to happen when he had just finished a job back at Pearn Nation.

And now, there's another job from out of the country when he had just gotten back for a couple of days.

"Child abuse? Just over a year old?"

But when Michael saw the details of the job, his face couldn't help but twitch as he felt a little angry at how these adoptive parents had become savages for torturing a one year old baby to her death!

"We're assassins, we make a living out of killing people, but even we abide by the rule of not killing defenseless people, more so a baby. Now, I just learned one more thing about why we assassins exist, it's to clean up trash such as these bastards!"

Shatter!

Michael was about to crush his phone, but then he remembered that there are important things saved inside and opted for the option of breaking the drinking glass in front of him instead.

"And humanitarian organizations? Most of these bastards are trash too, people shouldn't easily trust them. This is why Robin had cleaned up a lot of them too back in his younger days"

"But what to do? I have school tomorrow, and I don't know what excuse I should have to go out of the country. They'd probably nag me about why I'm going away again, especially Amanda"

And once again, he fell into a dilemma. He wants to accept the job because he'd gladly eradicate people like them, and at the same time, it has a decent pay too.

Five millions dollars.

And for Michael, that's a freaking lot!

"Hmm..should I actually buy a house in Amanda's neighborhood? If I do that, then I wouldn't need to make excuses if I leave the country for a job, and at the same time, I'll also be near from Amanda's place, and I could invite her over from time to time to have fun by ourselves, killing two birds with one stone"

Michael suddenly thought of an idea of buying a house that he had been delaying before as he didn't want to suddenly move out when he had just gotten adopted, moved in with them and was just starting to get to know Alice and Tom better.

But at the same time, he's not young anymore and it wouldn't be good if he keeps staying at his parents' place when he could certainly afford a house of his own.

Michael didn't quickly agree to the job, and having the idea of buying a house, Michael quickly called someone.

"Randy, can I come over tomorrow?"

"No, I just want to talk about something with Olivia. I'm planning to buy a house, and I want to know if there's any houses for sale at this place I want to live in"

***

Meanwhile,

"Who was it?"

Olivia, who's currently lying her head on Randy's chest with her arm across his body, looked up at him while breathing heavily, seemingly like she had just finished doing some tiring exercise.

"It was Michael, and he said he will come over tomorrow and wants to talk to you" replied Randy as he threw his phone at the desk beside their bed.

"Why?" she asked.

"He wants to talk about buying a house in Amanda's neighborhood" replied Randy as he just laid back on the bed as he enjoyed the sensation of being loved and satisfied after a good round of working out with her.

"About time he buys a house, he's too old to be still living with his parents"

"Enough about that brat, ready for round three?"

"Anyt- kyaa! You're so naughty!"

"Don't make a lot of noise, the kids are sleeping"

And once again, the room descended to the sound of bed shaking and muffled moans.

"Now that we're done with that, time to head to bed. I wonder what time they will come back"

Ending his phone call with Randy, Michael stood up from his chair while stretching his arms up high while groaning with a satisfied smile on his face.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

But just as he had gotten up, his phone once again rung, and this time, it's a phone call from Amanda.

"Ohh, guess she finally remembered me"

Picking up his phone and answering the call with a smile on his face.

"Hey babe, what's up?"

[Come over quick, I made dinner, and its your favorite]

Michael didn't immediately open his mouth as he was startled by what she said.

"Dinner? You cooked?"

[Yeah, come over quick, okay!? I'm hanging up!]

"Okay, I'll be there"

[Be careful on the road babe, love you]

"Sure"

The call ended, and Michael looked at his phone with a helpless expression on his face.

"But I just had dinner, dammit"
