Chapter 442: The End is Nigh

"F*ck! I got carried away! I should have killed him right there and then!"

Everyone thought that Randy was escaping from them because he was outnumbered, but he actually did something that no one expected, and that when he arrived two floors down, he actually re-entered the floor he arrived at and didn't continue moving down the emergency staircase, and of course, the people who had been pursuing him from behind didn't see his actions and went past him and continued down the stairs.

Standing in the middle of the empty hallway, Randy reached his hand behind him and touched the wound his back and couldn't help but complain.

"Damn, now my shirt's all messed up and bloodied"

Randy complained while he took out a key from his pocket and entered a random room and came out a few seconds later in a new shirt. He looked around, before he hurriedly took the elevator and went back to the top floor, and before the elevator door closed, the edge of his lips slowly curled up into a smirk.

On the other hand, the streets around the building had slowly gotten surrounded by the police, with even team SWAT dispatched as they engaged in a firefight against the armed people hiding inside the hotel building.

Brrrtatatata!

Bang! Shatter!

The windows from multiple police mobiles shattered as the vehicle got covered in tens of bullet holes from the person shooting at them with a machine gun from the second floor window of the hotel, while the authorities on the other hand were ducked down on the ground on the opposite side of their vehicles.

"Godddddammit! How did these bastards manage to sneak in those high grade weapons!? Machine guns!? Seriously!? What are those bastards from that department doing!?"

The police chief was so angered that his face had turned red while yelling at the officer lying opposite of him as glass shards flew over their heads. Everyone of them was pinned down, even the SWAT team that came to solve the problem was also suffering the same fate as them since they're not equipped to deal with a machine gun, and would just occasionally return fire if they get the chance.

Now, they can only wait for the window when the machine gun is cooling down and the gunner can't shoot. Though unfortunately, that wasn't the only problem that they're facing, there's also three more machine gunners located at the remaining three sides of the building, and not counting the other armed people assisting them, it really is a big problem with their limited resources.

This also explains why Dray and his men are only armed with handguns since most of the firepower is directed at keeping the authorities from storming the building.

A decision that's clearly underestimating Randy, or are they just really confident in being able to kill him?

"I don't know sir! Should we call the army and request for reinforcements sir?!"

"Go, go! Call them! Also, I want you to connect me to Mine Tech. Industries, and let's see if we can get their help and have them dispatch a couple of their combat drones here"

Their conversation ended almost at the same time that the machine gunner had ceased firing. Though everyone didn't immediately come out from their spot as they are afraid that the terrorist is just waiting for them to poke their heads out before shooting them.

The scene immediately descended into slight tranquility as the gunshots ceased, and the only noise that can be heard are the sound of the rotors of the news helicopter flying over them, and the constant noise coming from the radio along with the police officers talking to each other.

In addition, there's also a lot of news reporters near the area reporting what's taking place behind them, along with a large crowd of people who are too curious for their own good.

But even when the firing ceased, no one moved from their positions, even the SWAT remained from their positions as they started strategizing a new strategy to storm the place.

"Boss, can we really storm the place even if we come up with a new strategy? They have machine gunners on all sides, I think we'll only be able to take a few steps forward before we get shot down" said one of the members of the SWAT, as he's incredibly doubtful about their chances of storming the building and taking down the armed men inside.

When he said those words, everyone fell silent as they really couldn't contradict his words. They might be the special tactics team, but it would already be a miracle for them if they can even survive a gunshot wound from a machine gun.

"Shut up! This time, I want the three of you to provide cover fire again along with the other officers! We'll immediately storm the building in a few seconds! I don't believe those bastards inside still have a lot of ammo left after shooting discriminately" rebuke the SWAT team leader to his men.

"Aren't we going to wait for Martin to take down that machine gunner before we storm the place boss?"

Bang!

The man had just uttered those words when a gunshot rang out, and all of the officers who had just started to pop out from their hiding places all hurriedly ducked down as they thought another onslaught of bullets was coming their way.

[T-tango down! I repeat! Tango down on the west side!]

The moment the team leader heard those words coming through the radio, he looked at his men and yelled, "That's us! Provide cover fire! Go, go, go!"

Rrratatata!

Beside him, three more SWAT members followed behind him as they charged out from their hiding place after a brief scan of their surroundings, and behind them, the remaining three SWAT members and police officers on the scene who heard his yell immediately provided them cover fire and started shooting towards the hotel.
