Fated love: the unwanted bride-Chapter 2141: Not Even Interested in Small Change
Jasmine Yale hurriedly took her phone out of her pocket and examined it under the streetlight. It turned out to be Sylvan Cheney.
"President," she calmly spoke.
"Take away your insulated box." Sylvan Cheney, on the other end, was clearly drunk.
"I don’t want it anymore."
"A new box and you say you don’t want it? Ha, truly the style of a rich person. It seems you got a lot of money while out. Of course, I sent you a red envelope of 999, and you accepted it without blinking an eye. Who knows how much money you’ve taken from others behind my back? Do you look down on small money?" Sylvan, head pounding, lay in bed, feeling very unwell.
"I’ve only ever accepted a red envelope from you, and I’ll give it back."
With that, Jasmine Yale hung up the phone.
She accepted that red envelope purely because she wanted to buy a gift for Chale Cheney, considering it a gift from his father.
The woman beside her recognized Sylvan Cheney’s voice. Although she didn’t know what Sylvan said, she was extremely jealous. Why did he only call Jasmine Yale and not her? 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Jasmine Yale didn’t have that much money, but luckily Flora Sutton was online, so she borrowed money from Flora.
Immediately afterward, she transferred it to Sylvan Cheney.
Sylvan Cheney’s call quickly came through again.
She didn’t answer anymore.
The other end was undeterred, calling repeatedly as if haunting her.
Jasmine Yale simply turned off her phone.
A cold breeze swept over her body, as if the chill had penetrated to her heart.
Just then, a taxi appeared.
Jasmine Yale was about to signal for it when the woman beside her quickly ran over to open the car door, leaving behind a trail of perfume and the smell of alcohol.
The woman glanced back at Jasmine Yale with a proud look, her chin held high.
The taxi departed.
It was going to be another long wait.
Jasmine Yale didn’t want to wait anymore. She crossed her arms and headed toward the subway entrance.
However, this area wasn’t close to the subway, and with the strong night wind, Jasmine had to stop and rest every few steps.
Eventually unable to walk anymore, Jasmine sat on a bench among the roadside grass.
There was no one around, only endless grassy fields, devoid of the day’s bustle.
The bench was cold, but she was very tired.
This was an unwelcome place for her, and she wouldn’t come back in the future.
It was quiet everywhere, with no sound to hear. Occasionally, there were faint insect chirps in the grass, a common sound of autumn nights.
The moon hung in the sky, casting its glow on the ground, and illuminating her fair face.
Jasmine Yale’s eyes showed little emotion, her long eyelashes gently trembling, her face as calm as ever.
Suddenly, a black car stopped in the nearby area, blocking half of her view.
Jasmine Yale looked up; it was Sylvan Cheney’s car.
The next moment, Elder Axel jumped out from the car.
"Miss Yale, haven’t you gone home yet? Let me give you a ride." Elder Axel looked at Jasmine Yale with concern.
Jasmine Yale didn’t pretend to be strong; she really couldn’t walk anymore.
She nodded, "Thank you."
"Oh, no need to thank me, thank the President if you want to thank someone; I’m just the driver."
"Is there anyone else in the car?"
"No one left."
"Oh, okay."
Jasmine Yale sat in the passenger seat.
The car was much warmer than outside. Jasmine Yale held onto the armrest, her gaze calm.
"Miss Yale, it’s inconvenient for you being pregnant, if you can take the President’s car, you should, you’re not an outsider." Elder Axel had some understanding in his heart; he knew Sylvan Cheney was different towards Jasmine Yale compared to other women.
"I will work hard."
