Fated: The Alpha's Unwanted Luna-Chapter 155: Taking care of her_Part 2
Sebastian had been in her room for some time now, waiting for her to come out of the bathroom. He had been furious with her, so furious that if he hadn’t left when he did earlier, he knew he would have lost his temper entirely at her indifference to his words about not marking her. She hadn’t cared at all, hadn’t even felt the need to ask why.
That was the behavior of someone who didn’t give a damn.
It had hurt something deep inside him, because he had been working so hard to chase her, wanting not only to make things up to her but also to make her warm up to him and help her wolf awaken.
But the senseless little rabbit hadn’t had the sense to tell him that she carried another man’s mark, and had gone ahead and told him to invite that very man here, when she should have been putting as much distance between herself and him as possible to let the mark fade.
Sebastian had no idea what exactly had brought him back here, but he knew he shouldn’t be staying away from her, not with that man in the same building, where his mark might be working to force an attachment back onto her.
However, when he had come in, he had figured she was in the shower as there had been the sound of running water. Unable to stop his mind from beginning to picture her naked beneath the shower spray, imagining the water flowing down smooth, white flesh, over full molded breasts and down her thighs, that fleeting thought had turned his trousers uncomfortably snug at the front and turned his body hot. Sebastian had quickly turned his attention to the work he had brought to her place and forced himself to focus on that instead.
Now that she had come out, he was stunned by what she was wearing. She was dressed in a black ribbed cropped camisole top and matching shorts that stopped just below the gentle curve of her rear, emphasizing rounded hips and sharply toned legs. Her midriff was bare and exposed, and he could make out the faint lines of abs that must have formed through her intense training, and they looked so damned sexy he wanted to trace his fingers against them.
If an hourglass were a person, it would be her, for Sebastian couldn’t take his eyes off her in those shorts. The fact that they hid very little from the imagination wasn’t helping him in the slightest. A tiny red bow sat at the waistband of her shorts and he suddenly found himself imagining taking it between his teeth and slowly, torturously, pulling her shorts down over her hips with it, all the way down, before worshipping every inch of her bare skin with his craving mouth and tongue and tasting the sweetness of her.
He swallowed the lump lodged like a stone in his throat and thought he heard it loud in his ringing, heated ears.
Her cropped top had thin spaghetti straps and hugged her chest snugly, emphasizing her breasts and doing absolutely nothing to hide the fact that she wasn’t wearing a bra, her nipples pressing visibly against the heart print fabric, sending a hot, scorching trail of heat into his veins. She wasn’t even trying to seduce him, and yet he was already getting aroused, and he found himself wondering what it would be like if she were actually trying to. He would be an absolute goner then!
Sebastian’s throat felt like it had been lined with sandpaper and he had to shift and discreetly adjust his trousers to conceal his arousal, but the movement seemed to snap her out of the shock of finding him sitting on her bed.
She suddenly became self-conscious and crossed her arms over her chest, each palm pressed against the opposite shoulder.
When Sebastian’s gaze traveled up to her face, she looked just as indifferent as she had when he had left her hours ago, only her ears, peeking out from the background of her thick mass of hair, were faintly pink. But her face looked pale and her eyes were tired, and her left cheek was still slightly swollen from the slap she had received from that bastard.
Recalling it, anger overtook him and his expression darkened, his eyes turning ice cold and frigid. He should kill the man and break every one of his limbs for daring to touch her and leave a mark on her lovely face just two days before their wedding!
Viola, noticing the change in his expression, assumed he was angry at her again, and her own displeasure rose sharply in response, because he had absolutely no right to come here, sit himself down on her bed, and pour his anger out on her after what he had said earlier. She was still furious with him and hadn’t wanted to see him at all, for the very sight of him reminded her painfully of the fact that she was discardable.
"What are you doing here?" She demanded, glaring at him from beneath her lashes.
Standing for any length of time was causing her discomfort in her abdomen, but Viola didn’t move from where she stood, even when she felt the desperate urge to rush back into her closet and change into something far more concealing. But turning her back on him while wearing shorts that barely covered her bottom was absolutely the last thing she was going to do!
"What do you think I am doing here?" Sebastian mused, looking at her with a blank expression. "Isn’t it obvious? I came here to talk to you."
"I don’t want to talk. I am not in the mood, and I really would like to sleep early tonight without any disturbance from you or anyone else." Viola muttered emotionlessly, even as a part of her was quietly scolding her for wanting to send away the only person whose presence helped her sleep soundly without nightmares.
But then allowing herself to grow accustomed to him when this relationship would inevitably end someday was a dangerous and risky game, and she didn’t want to play it any further or risk breaking herself over it.
For some reason she could feel it within herself, that if she allowed even a single part of her to slip into anything beyond friendship with this devastatingly handsome man sitting on her bed, it would be an early death sentence for her barely mended heart, already suffering under the weight of Evan’s heart binding mark.
"Can you please leave?" Viola asked, keeping her voice polite in hopes that it would make him go, and stay gone, until their wedding was over, until she had married him and faced whatever fate awaited her, whether that be death or giving him an heir.
If possible, she wanted to travel to Nightshade immediately after the ceremony to bring back her sister, and then face whatever came next. But right now, more than anything, she wanted to be alone.
"You don’t want me here anymore?" Sebastian questioned, a look of pure displeasure settling on his face. Apart from his mate bond, which was thoroughly displeased, he himself didn’t like it one bit when she pushed him away, not when they had already come so far past that point.
He watched her nod her head.
Sebastian’s chest twisted and he gave her a single nod in return before he began to move off her bed.
Viola watched him from the corner of her eye as he rose from the bed, and something inside her ached at the fact that he wasn’t insisting on staying, that he was just leaving, like that.
Don’t go. Don’t leave me. Stay and sleep beside me. A desperate, lonely part of her that craved his company pleaded from somewhere deep inside, but those words never made it past her lips and she pressed them tightly together to make certain they wouldn’t.
However, Viola couldn’t hide the quiet sadness settling inside her chest as he began to move. Because she had dropped her gaze to the floor, not wanting to watch him walk out, she didn’t notice that he wasn’t heading toward the door at all, but straight toward her, until she felt him come to a stop directly in front of her.
Before Viola could register what was happening, he bent down and scooped her up into his arms, causing her to let out a startled squeal as she looked up at him with wide eyes.
"Wh — what are you doing?" She demanded as he began carrying her back toward the bed.
"Taking you to bed, of course. You are far too stubborn for your own good and I am helping you." Sebastian said with a small, unhurried sigh. Did she honestly think he would leave after going through the trouble of sneaking here just to spend time with her?
The only way to weaken Evan’s mark on her was to make her fight it by growing feelings for another man. And since Sebastian couldn’t mark her himself to be rid of it, he would make her heart and body grow so accustomed to him that it would happen on its own. Besides, the only way to help her wolf emerge was by keeping her close, just as the doctor had said, and he was going to kill two birds with one stone. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"Put me down right now!" Viola gritted, her annoyance sharp and clear in her blue eyes and voice.
"Not a chance, honey." Sebastian replied without missing a beat. "Aren’t you always curious to hear about my feud with your former pack? Be a good girl and we will talk about it tonight." He murmured softly, looking down at her flushed and irritated face, and at his words, the anger melted from her expression almost instantly.
