Fated To Four Alphas Even Though I Am Mute-Chapter 59: Black Witch
Damon’s POV
It was already past midnight when we got to Deadpine Forest. Everywhere was foggy with tall trees that covered the moonlight.
We had already transformed into our wolf forms.
Dylan was by my side. He had gray fur with silver eyes that complimented his fur. He looked strong and ready for whatever lay ahead.
Desmond had midnight brown fur with golden eyes. He was beside me. He was a little bit bigger than Dylan’s wolf. His presence was comforting.
I was in the middle. My wolf had silver fur with blue colored eyes. I was a lot bigger than Dylan. I was also bigger than Desmond. My size gave me confidence.
Damian was a lot more larger than any of us. He had dark fur with burning gold eyes that looked really fierce. His wolf was five times bigger than any of ours. He was massive. Powerful. The ground shook slightly under his weight.
He had Heaven wrapped around his back safely. She was tied securely with cloth. He needed her to be physically present for the ritual to be effective. We couldn’t risk losing her during the journey.
Even though the bond was fading, I could still feel Heaven’s soul. It was far away from me. Like a distant echo. But I could sense it.
We ran through the fog and trees through the forest to the Hollow of Ashen. Our fur was glittering in the moonlight. The forest was silent except for our paws hitting the ground.
I looked up at the sky. It was almost a full moon out. The moon was bright and beautiful. It gave us light in the darkness.
I looked ahead. We were getting close to the black witch. I could feel it deep in my bones. The energy in the air changed.
The pungent smell of black magic filled the air. It was thick and heavy. It made my nose burn. My wolf didn’t like it at all.
Soon after, we saw a hut house getting closer and closer. It stood alone in a clearing. Surrounded by dead trees. The sight of it made my heart beat faster.
We immediately transformed back to our human forms. We were naked. Our clothes had been destroyed during the transformation. The cold air hit our skin.
Damian held Heaven in his arms carefully. She looked so small against his chest. So pale. So lifeless. It hurt to see her like this.
Desmond came forward. He knocked on the door. He knocked once before dropping his hand. The door clicked open immediately. Like it was expecting us.
I looked around the house. I saw that the house the black witch lived in was actually not that bad for a forest house. It was small but looked cozy enough.
The walls were painted white. But they had turned dirty brown in color. This was due to the change in weather over the years. Rain and wind had stained them badly.
If you looked closely, you could see that it was a decent looking house. If not for the location it was in. The forest made everything look darker and more sinister.
I looked at Heaven. My heart couldn’t stop beating so fast. My wolf couldn’t stop howling inside my head. He was crying for our mate.
I was nervous. I was hoping that this black witch would be able to save her. To bring her back to us. We had come so far. We couldn’t lose her now.
Then the door opened on its own. Without anyone coming out into the light. It just swung open slowly. The hinges creaked loudly.
Damian, Dylan, Desmond and I walked in without uttering a word. The inside was dark and cold. The air smelled like herbs and smoke and something else I couldn’t identify.
"Oh Damian, or should I say Alpha Damian," a voice said from the darkness.
She brought out a lantern. She put it close to her face. I saw one of her eyes. It was totally gone. The socket was empty. Just a dark hole where an eye should have been.
Her face was brown skin. Her left eye was missing. Like it was totally out of the socket. It was disturbing to look at.
But she was still looking pretty. Despite the missing eye. Despite the darkness around her. There was something beautiful about her face.
The one eyed witch immediately put the lantern down. She held a staff in her hand. She looked very calm. Like she had been expecting us all along. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
I looked down at her arms and legs. I saw scales that had formed from the overuse of black magic. They covered parts of her skin. They looked dark and rough. This was the price of using dark power.
"Place her here," the black witch said.
She pointed toward a mat on the floor near the fire. The fire was small but gave enough light to see.
Damian walked forward carefully. He placed Heaven on the mat gently. Like she was made of glass. He didn’t want to hurt her more than she already was.
Then the black witch looked down at Heaven. She stared at her for a long moment. Her one good eye studied Heaven’s face carefully.
"Oh we meet again," she said. She looked at us. Then at Heaven again.
I was confused. Had she met Heaven before? She was acting like she knew Heaven. Like they had some history together.
"Do you know her?" I asked. My voice was suspicious. I didn’t trust this witch completely.
I looked at my brothers then at Mother Nyx again. We all waited for her answer.
There was a long pause in the room. The silence was heavy. There was no way she would know Heaven. Heaven had never been to this forest before plus she never left the Pack so that was a lie.
I moved towards Heaven defensively. Incase she wanted to do anything to Heaven, then I would protect her
