Favoring a Hidden Mistress? Engagement Broken-Chapter 103 - 92:
What does he take her for?
Did he use the same flirtation tactics on her as he did with his concubines?
Xie Wanqing felt a chill in her heart, straightened up to get off him, but Lu Ziyuan reacted faster than she did, pressing her shoulders and pulling her into his embrace.
"When will you stop having such a big temper," he said with a chuckle of frustration, "what does the matter between husband and wife have to do with concubines?"
He pulled open her collar, touched the marks on her shoulders and neck, and asked with a smile, "Is this what you call serving? So when I serve you, do you take me as a concubine?"
"..." Xie Wanqing stared at him in disbelief.
Is this how he wins battles, by being unreasonable and turning things upside down?
Lu Ziyuan lowered his gaze and stared at her intently, "Stop bringing up the concubines. I’ve said it before, no one will affect you."
He was calm, mentioning the two other women in the courtyard as if they were mere trinkets of no importance.
Xie Wanqing had no intention to argue with him.
She had long understood that, in a man’s eyes, one more woman is no different than two more women.
Yet Lu Ziyuan continued, holding her chin and looking into her clear eyes, "Are you that concerned?"
"You misunderstand, I’m not concerned," Xie Wanqing shook her head slowly, "It’s just that I’ve been brought up with the strictest rules, and I truly cannot let go. If you wish for some tricks in bed, you’d better teach your beloved concubines. I’d only dampen your spirits."
You’d better teach your beloved concubines. I’d only dampen your spirits...
Lu Ziyuan felt a sharp pain in his heart, his fingers unconsciously loosening their grip.
Xie Wanqing quickly got off him, only to be pulled back by the wrist.
"Where did the beloved concubines come from?" His voice was cold, enunciating each word, "They are all from the Lu Family’s second branch and won’t affect us in the slightest. Why do you keep holding onto this?"
"You’re right," Xie Wanqing didn’t want to argue with him, so she nodded along, "I’ve thought it through, I won’t mention them again."
Lu Ziyuan felt what it was like to punch cotton.
The heat of desire had turned to mere annoyance after all this fuss.
He even felt a bit unsure about what to do with her.
He should have pinned her down, entangled her until she couldn’t think of anything else, filled her heart and eyes with only him.
Yet in the end, he simply glanced at the marks on her wrist, his thumb gently rubbing over them.
When he spoke again, his emotions were completely in check.
He said, "If you don’t like them, stay away from them, out of sight, out of mind, wait for my return..."
"Alright, I get it." Xie Wanqing interrupted impatiently, "Rest assured, as long as they don’t come to disturb Shaoguang Courtyard, I won’t look for trouble with them."
Lu Ziyuan frowned slightly, "Who has been here?"
Xie Wanqing lowered her head to tidy her clothes, casually mocking, "My sister-in-law."
This address made Lu Ziyuan pause for a moment, then he asked, "What about Er Xia?"
After being taken as a concubine, Er Xia reverted to her original surname, and now everyone in the residence called her Aunt Liu.
The familiar name made Xie Wanqing’s hand tying her belt pause, before she softly responded.
"Have you seen her?" Lu Ziyuan’s tone turned serious.
Xie Wanqing heard it clearly, she slowly raised her head to meet his cold and stern face, and suddenly smiled as if thinking of something.
She laughed, "Of course not, just seeing her from afar makes me nauseous. How could I let her in to dirty my place?"
Though her smile was beautiful, Lu Ziyuan was slightly stunned.
In her eyes, Er Xia was the maid who climbed into bed during the master’s afternoon nap, completely disgusting.
Then what about him...?
Lu Ziyuan’s lips almost pressed into a straight line.
After a long pause, he said, "If you don’t like them, then stay away from them."
Xie Wanqing coldly curled her lips, not bothering to speak.
Lu Ziyuan wasn’t bothered by her attitude, continuing, "I’m going on a dangerous expedition, you should move to the family temple for a few months and pray for me."
His words weren’t a question but a decision already made.
They were husband and wife; it was a wife’s duty to pray for her husband when he went to war. But why did it have to be a command with no room for discussion, as if she were a soldier under his command, only needing to obey orders?
Perhaps too disheartened, her expression didn’t change much, she only said indifferently, "The family temple is within the residence, even for praying, I don’t need to move in."
"To show your sincerity, you’ll have to endure moving in for a while," Lu Ziyuan looked down at her, "I’ll personally come to fetch you once I return to the Capital."
