Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild-Chapter 422 - 233: Breaking Through the Guard
Although the body of this Treasure Wood Poison Dragon is slender, it is still a gigantic creature compared to the human race.
Lacking the usual four or six legs of a Dragon Beast does not hinder its mobility; any segment of its serpentine body can support and entwine itself around tree roots, channeling its full strength to the attack position.
When its body rotates, a pair of sharp and heavy claws, capable of easily gouging through anything natural, exert undeniable power under its tenacious tendons and muscles.
In an instant, all four people moved their feet, each avoiding in their own way.
Dodge? Observing, Li Ang frowned, afraid it’s not possible.
In gaming terms, such a high-tier stage Boss tests certain abilities, generally won’t let you skip the trial.
This strike is the Poison Dragon’s special attack, covering the entire tree root area. If the whole group opts to dodge, someone would surely be hit and directly killed.
The attack was right before them, but only Dorothy, using Flower Vine displacement to another tree root area, could completely evade it.
Zoe and Andasu quickly retreated, but couldn’t escape the Poison Dragon’s attack range.
The shadow of the giant Dragon covered the sky; they assessed and seeing ALulu raise her shield, all hid behind her.
The city-smashing claw smashed down from above, Zoe aimed her sword at it and fired a Wind Elemental Arrow, trying to slow its attack.
At the moment the claw collided with the shield, everyone felt the root beneath them dip suddenly. Next, the resilient thick root sprang back, sending them all airborne, except the giant Dragon, unaffected.
In mid-air, the young girls saw ALulu’s shield surface already cracked massively by the claw, with the holy power covering it shattered into glimmers.
The divine power on the shield came from ALulu’s [Divine Will] skill; without it, even with Li Ang’s system-bestowed craftsmanship-provided sturdy structure, the shield couldn’t withstand such immense power.
It’s ALulu’s brute force that allowed them to withstand the special attack of the transcendent peak demon without being blown away.
Fortunately, this demon, however reckless, hasn’t reached Tier 7 for a qualitative leap, is a situation the young girls can barely handle. A shield starting from the Transcendent Realm sustaining such an attack is cost-effective.
However, after withstanding the impact, Xiaoniu trembled all over, her muscles briefly unable to exert force.
Dorothy extended Flower Vine to support ALulu shaken off, the other two—one could transform to float, one swung to the side using sharp claw chains hooked on the roots.
The Wyrm Dragon’s attack wasn’t a single wave; after the first hit was blocked, it immediately plunged its tail into the root, body arching in several loops like a worm, the just-stabilized young girls heard the creaking roots.
After the dragon appeared, mist on the lake surface dispersed, revealing the battleground of the Star Flower Travel Corps to distant adventurers.
The adventurers were entangled by a Tier 6 Fish Dragon residing in underwater tree caves, but when the vibrations from the Poison Dragon reached that side, the Fish Dragon promptly opted to flee.
Relieved, the adventurers glanced at Li Ang’s group, startled by the tens of meters-long giant Dragon, and began retreating at once.
"What’s it—what’s it doing?" Dorothy said nervously.
"It’s coming at us again!" Zoe quickly said, "Many maggots suddenly spring up to startle, this guy knows that trick too!"
Many worms can leap unexpectedly this way, Zoe realized it was gathering strength for the next wave.
Dorothy felt both nervous and disgusted, "Really didn’t want to know that."
Though she said this, her hands kept moving, spreading vast Flower Vine like wings, twisting into two flower beast paws not smaller than a behemoth, supporting the front of the crowd.
The Wyrm Dragon launched another leap strike, its slender body abruptly stretched, bypassing the floral beast claws, darting at the rear crowd.
In an instant, Dorothy unraveled the vine twist, and the sturdy paws spread into a large net of vines, descending upon the giant Dragon.
The Flower Vine fiercely entwined the Wyrm Dragon, its momentum slowed in exchange for the vine tearing with snapping sounds.
Dorothy’s Demon-Born Flower Branch of Prosperity had reached Tier Six, theoretically capable of battling the giant Dragon, but since she wasn’t a Demon Flower herself, when the vine was pulled taut, she could barely hold on, even if the vines around her roots provided stability, her skin flushed with an unusual red as if her capillaries had burst entirely.
Andasu quickly closed in on the giant Dragon, her fist claws pounding continuously.
The scales inherited from the Poison Dragon Ancestor scuffed the shipbuilding treasure wood, its scales an earthy yellow with a faint layer of Power of Life protection.
Andasu’s regular punches were ineffective on the scales, luckily the Power of Darkness emerged occasionally in attacks, shattering its scales effortlessly enough.
Yet, in battling this giant demon, peeling off scales, breaching flesh doesn’t cause significant efficient harm.
With a flick of the Wyrm Dragon’s body, Andasu had to retreat.
"Got any powerful moves? Now’s the time," Li Ang reminded them.
"Okay!" Seeing the Half Elf couldn’t hold out much longer, Zoe charged her sword with all her might.
She transformed into the strongest Celestial Maiden stance with Yufeng, tightly gripping the Wind Breath Sword, the Light of the Star Soul transforming into a whirlwind, scattering lake water waves outward in every direction.
