Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild-Chapter 451 - 242: Ivynis’s Tears (Part 4)
Though she had never heard the cry before, the young girl instantly smiled, as if the frost and snow had melted away.
"Otherwise?"
"I, I actually don’t want you to be like this, it seems like I’m..."
Ivynis wiped her tears and began to cry again.
Li Ang sighed in his heart.
Even in such a situation, she still cared about his opinion? As if she was terribly afraid he’d think of her as a "Holy Mother" or a "Green Tea" kind of person.
"This is entirely my personal thought."
Li Ang reached out and steadied the young girl’s shoulder.
Ivynis’s expression quivered violently, and she suddenly lowered her head, but her falling blue hair couldn’t hide the blush on her face.
In a voice as thin as a mosquito’s whine, she said, "Then, please bring Zoe here..."
She glanced vaguely at the Annihilator segment, then her figure suddenly dissipated, as if she had never existed.
Time began to flow again, leaving only the Celestial Blue Ring warm and undulating, as if it were Ivynis’s heartbeat.
Li Ang took a breath and asked Otto to slow down the attack, then looked at Diana.
The Moon Concealing Rabbit standing on the mechanical armor’s head had been looking over in this direction.
...
On the surface of Mengze Island, after the Demons rioted, Zoe and three others joined forces, joining the battle against the Demons according to Li Ang’s instructions.
The town closest to the Wetland Realm where Huanwo Village was located was called Chaoxun Town. A Treasure Wood Poison Dragon directly targeted it, smashing through the simple fence of the town, about to begin a massacre.
After a fierce battle, the Star Flower Travel Corps, along with other adventurers present, killed the dragon before the damage expanded. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Other Demons were also exterminated.
Zoe pulled out her short sword from a Water Flying Serpent and let out a long breath.
After the strange face in the sky suddenly disappeared, the Demons gradually calmed down, so finally, only those half-dead needed finishing, which should signal victory.
"We saved a lot of innocent people." Alulu, though covered in blood, with heat mixing the grime and sweat into a mess, had a pure smile on her face.
A local Guild office worker nearby was frantically taking notes: "Yeah, you guys were a big help. What’s your group’s name again? We’re calculating the reward."
"Of course, who works for free?" Dorothy was leaning against a nearby wall, pounding her waist.
"Thank you all so much." A laborer from the village, temporarily armed, said.
"Heh." Zoe proudly raised her chin.
"Still, it’s unclear why the magical disaster occurred." The laborer said.
"This isn’t called a magical disaster," the Guild worker said, "It’s called a Demon riot, or Demon Tide. A magical disaster is much more dangerous."
"Isn’t this a magical disaster? What was that strange face in the sky? And did I see the Flower God? Was that the Flower God?"
"Uh, yeah, that’s quite unusual indeed."
The worker wiped his sweat: "This anomaly must have been caused by special circumstances. And that giant girl who looked like the Flower God, I’ll have to write reports to death."
The laborer chuckled, and after the crisis, none of them kept a stern face anymore.
"Just don’t know who exactly caused it, really put us through hell."
Zoe paused her sword-wiping hand, and her motion to sheathe the Wind Breath Sword slowed a beat.
"Who might it be?" the Guild worker said, "Looks like cultists summoned some Demon, we haven’t caught them yet, the crisis is not completely over."
"Why did these bastards come to Mengze Island to cause destruction? Can’t anyone deal with them?"
Alulu watched the suddenly silent Zoe walk out of the town, and jogged after her. Dorothy, puzzled, sighed and followed.
"Where are you going? There might still be wandering Demons outside." Alulu asked.
"I remembered some things."
The joy on Zoe’s face was gone: "You know, some things that should have nothing to do with me, yet seem related, what am I supposed to do about them?"
Alulu was baffled: "What are you talking about?"
"Well, those bad guys, they actually..."
Zoe thought of her mom and dad, the Empire’s villains, the search for Star Souls, all these things were a mess she couldn’t articulate.
"Alas, I know nothing, I just want to help Li Ang, I don’t care about other things... Has he won yet? Why isn’t he back?"
She was merely stamping her foot, splattering water around.
"Hey, you’re splashing me." Dorothy said.
Zoe glanced at her: "You’re dirtier than this water."
"Really? Then you try it too!"
The Half Elf jumped over to stamp, and then the two began a water-splashing fight, splashing water everywhere.
There was no real anger between the two, and after a few clashes, they started playing like children.
Alulu, standing still, got her face full of their splashed water and joined in the splashing.
Their clear laughter echoed across the grassy wilderness.
Andasu sat at the edge of a rooftop after the battle, flipping through a Mechanical Engineer’s notebook, and shook her head at the three’s antics, continuing to read her own studies.
In the grassy fields, Diana brought Li Ang into view.
"Ah, it’s Li Ang!"
Zoe spotted him immediately, splashing through the water to rush over and tightly wrapped her arms around him.
Li Ang, having fought in the cave and possessing a shield and flying ability, was not as battered as the three, though he ended up smeared by this cat’s embrace.
He was about to make a sarcastic comment but saw Zoe’s eyes red.
"Yo? What’s up?"
Hearing his gentle inquiry, the young girl was on the verge of tears again, only wiping her eyes without bursting into tears.
"Just now, someone said they were badly hurt."
"Yes," Li Ang sighed, "the Empire is truly unscrupulous."
Diana, on the side, whenever she thought of Jenoside, would become terrified, recalling how the Annihilation Star Soul Jenoside had left a profound mark on Nebis’s Sky Knights, now she seemed like a frightened little animal.
In ancient times, had the Annihilation Star Soul Jenoside left too deep of an impression on her?
"I, I’ve been thinking, maybe all these things are because of me..."
Zoe said, lowering her head.
"You’re blaming yourself for the Empire’s actions, why?"
"Because it relates to the Star Soul, and it also seems related to my parents, so it’s related to me. Sister Eden wants me to collect Star Soul Power, but I just..."
Zoe tightened her grip around Li Ang: "I just wanted to help Li Ang build the team."
