Chapter 2702 - When I Bring Order

The four experts were founder-level experts of their respective schools of thought: Daoism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and swordsmanship.

But their names and specific origins weren’t at all obvious. Even amidst this flood of revelations, Su Yi learned nothing about them at all.

All he knew was that amidst the alternation of the epochs, every epoch gave rise to a ruling figure, but only a handful were truly qualified to become Bringers of Order.

And of the Bringers of Order, only four had ever borrowed the Cauldron of Epochs’ power.

Yes, borrowed. None had claimed its power for their own!

The Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend hadn’t been lying about that. She’d told Su Yi in no uncertain terms that no one had ever acquired the cauldron before.

It was precisely because they’d never claimed the cauldron for themselves that these four mysterious experts representing four schools of thought were never considered the Ruler of the Epochs.

Su Yi was different. He could sense it clearly. He might not be capable of refining the cauldron with his current cultivation base, but he had made the Cauldron of Epochs his own. He was capable of controlling it, not just borrowing its strength. It wouldn’t vanish after he used it, either.

A sense of calm arose in Su Yi’s heart. Next, I’ve got to use my Dao to end the Dark Days of Legend.

He’d long since started pondering just what kind of new and unprecedented natural order he’d create should he get the opportunity.

How would his newfound order maintain the past, present, and future? How would it ensure the alternation of the epochs?

To Su Yi, becoming the Ruler of the Epochs meant a chance to rewrite their rules, but it was up to him to decide what this new world order should look like.

Even now, Su Yi didn’t have a clear answer. It all seemed vague and indistinct.

After all, this Battle for Order wasn’t just about the present. It was about the collapsed order of the past and future, and the Dark Days of Legend, too. Su Yi naturally had to take it seriously.

Besides, he hadn’t forgotten that historically, it was the power of reincarnation that traversed the River of Ages and oversaw the order of creation.

In the end, the power of reincarnation vanished, and the natural order descended into chaos.

Su Yi didn’t want that to happen again!

Since I’ve acquired the Cauldron of Epochs, there’s no rush to remake everything. I’ll end the Dark Days of Legend and restore peace to the God Domain first, thought Su Yi.

Time and space were out of whack. The past and future had collapsed, leading to the Dark Days of Legend, a nigh apocalyptic cataclysm.

Now, Su Yi would return the past to the past and the future to the future. He’d cleanse the world’s upheaval and end the cataclysm of the Dark Days of Legend!

When Su Yi inserted his awareness into the Cauldron of Epochs, it rumbled and boomed, scattering an endless rain of light that splashed onto the “scroll painting” of the River of Epochs.

A rain of chaos light suddenly fell from the sky throughout the God Domain, like churning, interweaving layers of cloud. It formed a massive wall, obscuring the endless expanse of time and space beyond.

Suns, moons, and stars appeared amidst the churning chaos clouds, giving rise to streaks of the power of the Laws of the natural order.

Every cultivator in the God Domain sensed the change. All of them gazed into the firmament.

When the Dark Days of Legend arrived, the natural order collapsed, and Fragments of Heaven’s Will fell like rain, scattered across the world.

To the world’s cultivators, it felt as if the sky had fallen.

After all, cultivating and pursuing the Dao was a matter of sensing the myriad Daos of the heavens. When the natural order collapsed and fell, it effectively severed all cultivators’ ability to contemplate the Grand Dao.

Many of them had given in to despair, and countless ancient orthodoxies were terrified and ill at ease. They believed that as the Dark Days of Legend continued, the God Domain’s world of cultivation and all of its cultivation factions would inevitably decline and fade away.

After all, how could they pursue the Grand Dao without the Grand Dao?

But now, everyone sensed that the vanished Dao of the Heavens had returned!

The whole world instantly boiled over.

The onset of the Dark Days of Legend had plunged the world into chaos. Beacon fires lit the skies, and the Grand Dao collapsed, bringing the world untold terror and despair.

Yet now, as these changes unfolded beneath the firmament, they broke the darkness enveloping the God Domain, letting everyone see the light once more!

“If I’m not mistaken, the Battle for Order is over, and the Bringer of Order has appeared!”

“Who is it?”

“It doesn’t matter. No matter who they are, now that they’ve restored order to the world, they’re the true ruler of the God Domain, like the incarnation of the heavens!”

All of the world’s older-generation experts reached this conclusion, emotion coursing through their hearts.

Red Pine Mountain.

An old man in black was gazing at the distant Five Elements Peak when his expression suddenly shifted dramatically. He sensed the endlessly terrifying majesty of the heavens.

Its Laws had deemed him an anomaly!

“Dammit! The God Domain’s Laws have returned!”

The old man didn’t even have time to hesitate before his body split and his soul exploded. In the blink of an eye, he’d vanished.

The reason was simple. He wasn’t of the present day. He’d come here from the past!

When the Laws of the God Domain returned, he instantly suffered a backlash that eradicated him completely. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Similar scenes took place throughout Red Pine Mountain, throughout the Central Divine Continent, and throughout the rest of the God Domain.

All cultivators and factions not of the present day were simultaneously targeted and eradicated!

No matter their cultivation base, they all suffered a backlash!

“Run! Hurry up and run!”

Throughout the God Domain, those experts of other spacetimes rushed toward the nearest spacetime forbidden zones.

But the vast majority died en route.

Only a small portion of those with particularly lofty and deep cultivation bases managed to escape disaster, as well as those near their respective spacetime forbidden zones.

But this was merely the beginning.

Chaos power churned repeatedly beneath the distant dome of heaven, transforming into thick, dense clouds. These in turn gave rise to all manner of Laws, like a silkworm spitting silk and encasing the entire God Domain in its ever-thickening cocoon.

Throughout the God Domain, barren former blessed grounds flourished with newfound vitality. Even some long-desolate wildernesses surged with dense life force.

The whole world seemed to be flourishing after hitting rock bottom. The end of the Dark Days of Legend had ushered in far-reaching, astonishing transformations.

On Sunset Perch Island, the barren peach trees welcomed a downpour, then erupted with new life. Tender buds appeared all over the branches.

The Lord of Sleepless Nights was a Dao-Enlightened Tea Tree, so he sensed the change most keenly. Now, he stopped there in a daze, murmuring, “The heavens have eyes! No, the heavens have returned!”

Everyone else on Sunset Perch Island sensed the changes too. Waves of emotion coursed through their hearts, and they all lit up with delight.

“Mother... did Father just end the Dark Days of Legend?” Yi Chen couldn’t help but ask.

His typically staunch eyes were full of excitement.

Lu Qingmei mulled that over seriously, then said, “Intuition tells me that this is most likely his doing!”

Her eyes sparkled, too.

To Bring Order meant no small number of miraculous changes. The will of the heavens was transforming the world!

Meanwhile, atop Five Elements Peak, Su Yi was bathed in a dazzling rain of light so that no one could see him clearly.

In truth, Su Yi was now meditating in a boundless stretch of void, the Cauldron of Epochs rumbling over his head and repeatedly scattering a rain of chaos light.

The scroll painting of the River of Epochs lay before him, and the present epoch was actively reforming amidst the chaos power.

The long-collapsed natural order of the past, present, and future was visibly rebuilding itself.

Su Yi really seemed like the master of creation!

But he didn’t use his own powers of the Grand Dao to supplant the heavens. Instead, he used his control over Red Pine Mountain’s chaos source to manifest the Laws of the God Domain. The past was once again the past, and the future was once again the future!

Strictly speaking, this was exactly how the God Domain had been previously. It hadn’t changed a bit.

It wasn’t that Su Yi didn’t want to supplant the will of the heavens, but that he was after something greater.

He wanted to fully reconstruct the natural order of the past, present, and future, making the River of Epochs truly inextinguishable. Then, he wanted to create a new and unprecedented epoch civilization.

He might not be able to achieve that in the near future, but so long as he had the Cauldron of Epochs, he’d succeed sooner or later!

The Cauldron of Epochs rumbled and boomed, the images on its sides flashing repeatedly, as if the four figures depicted there would soon come to life.

Meanwhile, four distinct scenes appeared in Su Yi’s sea of consciousness.

An old man rode a blue ox atop the flowing River of Epochs. When he reached the far end of the Path of the Ancient Gods, he held the Cauldron of Epochs aloft, gazed down into the Abyssal Ruin, and said, “The greatest good is like water, clear and inactive.”

A boundless and grand natural order took shape on the River of Epochs, enveloping the past, present, and future.

Then, the scene changed. An old monk appeared on a lotus platform, hovering over the void at the farthest reaches of the River of Epochs. The Cauldron of Epochs floated in front of him.

One hand pointed to the heavens, the other to the earth as he chanted, “The past, present, and future are each a pure land!”

With that, swaying lotuses appeared on the natural order of the River of Epochs.

The scene shifted once more.

A tall, powerfully built, middle-aged Confucian walked along the River of Epochs, sleeves fluttering around him, the valiant aura of a Confucian bursting forth.

The Cauldron of Epochs floated over his shoulder.

“If I don’t restore order to the world, who will?”

Valiant laughter rang out, echoing without end.

The fourth and final scene depicted a sword cultivator.

He was the most unusual, as he used the Cauldron of Epochs as a sword. As he whooshed through the River of Epochs, waves of sword qi coursed out of the cauldron, overlapping and intertwining to fill every last inch of the River of Epochs.

“If the Dao is in disarray, I’ll suppress it in a single slash!”

The clanging of a sword rumbled without end.

Su Yi didn’t know who the four of them were, but when these scenes played out in his sea of consciousness, they resonated with him. An incomparable valiant spirit filled his chest.

The four of them hailed from different factions, and they had different approaches to their cultivation, but they all had grand ambition and spirit. All four of them had once used the Cauldron of Epochs in a bid to Bring Order to the River of Epochs!

All of them were unquestionably legendary figures!

A long time passed before Su Yi thought to himself, When it’s my turn to Bring Order, the height of my Dao will determine the limits of the River of Destiny’s natural order!

Suddenly, the Cauldron of Epochs quivered, as if sensing Su Yi’s thoughts and resonating with them!
