FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 366: An Impulsive And Misguided Father
Chapter 366: An Impulsive And Misguided Father
After six solid hours of investigation and following the breadcrumbs left by the kidnappers, it became glaring to Matt that the people responsible for his family assault and his daughter’s kidnap were no other than his business partner and ally–The Don.
The last call he received from the kidnappers was traced to the Wild Foxes and they made it abundantly clear that his precious daughter would be the star entertainer for the night.
Knowing the fate of the young girls working as strippers at the Wild Foxes, Matt almost went insane with fear at the end of that call. And to make matters worse, he tried to reach out to the Don, but the bastard denied knowing anything about the attack or kidnap.
The Don also went as far as threatening him to stay away from the club and keep to a low profile for one month as earlier discussed, or suffer his wrath.
To Matt, this was a clear indication that he was responsible for the attack.
Acting on impulse and fatherly instinct, Matt quickly made arrangements for his wife and son to be taken out of the city to a safe location where her parents were being held.
With his wife and son safely out of the picture, he reached out to some old friends, and together they all set out to rescue his daughter.

Far from the city’s restless buzzing, a safe house sat buried in silence. No roads led directly to it–only a winding dirt trail, disguised by tall trees.
Inside the warmth of the safe house and in a well-illuminated bedroom, Rosie lay curled up, gripping the soft pillow to her chest, her eyes reddened from shedding excess tears.
Although the men who kidnapped her had been nothing short of nice to her, she didn’t trust them one bit. She knew they had attacked her house because of her father, and she wondered what would become of her without her mother and brother’s protection.
A click on the bedroom door, followed by the creaking sound of the door opening, caused Rosie to jerk and scramble out of bed. She ran to the far corner of the room, sitting on the bare floor and burying her head between her raised knees
"Please don’t hurt me." Rosie cried, her soft silky blonde hair falling forward as she tried desperately to hide her face away from looking at the intruder. Her ears picked up the muffled steps of the intruder, which seemed to get closer, causing her to shrink further into her shell.
"Please, I haven’t done anything. Don’t hurt me." Rosie’s tiny voice shook with fear.
"I’m not going to hurt you, sweetheart."
The soothing voice of a woman echoed in the room.
"I have only brought you, your dinner." The woman crouched beside her, stroking her hair lovingly.
"I’m not hungry. I don’t want to eat anything," Rosie said, refusing to trust this kind-natured woman who could be a snake in disguise. But as her nose sniffed out the delicious aroma of fried plantains and egg sauce- her favourite meal, her stomach betrayed her by growling loudly.
"You shouldn’t punish your stomach for a crime it never committed. If you want, we could both eat together. Your mom told me this is your favourite meal." The woman said, stroking her hair.
"My mom..." Rosie slowly lifted her head to look at the woman squatting beside her. She didn’t look so scary like she had painted in her mind.
Her greying brown hair and warm blue eyes captivated Rosie immediately, making the latter gawk speechlessly at her.
"I am Josie." She extended her right hand forward.
Rosie’s eyes wandered to the outstretched hand and then to the tray of delicious-looking meals on the bed, beckoning to her.
"Like I said, I’m a friend of your mom and they will soon join you here."
"They?" Rosie raised a brow suspiciously at Josie.
"Yes–your mother, your brother, your grandfather, and your grandmother. They will all be here before daybreak tomorrow."
"Are you working for my dad?" Fresh tears rolled down Rosie’s reddened cheek, her lips trembling with fear.
"No darling. I’m just a simple housekeeper. I have been assigned to take care of you until your family joins you. But in the meantime, someone would like to talk to you." Josie stood up and brought out her mobile phone. She dialled a number on WhatsApp video call and waited patiently until it connected.
"Here, talk to your uncle." Josie gave her the phone, a gentle smile framing her lips.
"Uncle..." Rosie whispered faintly. She hesitated a little before collecting the phone from Josie.
"Hello, cutie." Senator Gregory’s deep voice echoed in the room, filling Rosie with complete shock and dread.
The last image of her kind-hearted uncle punching her father’s face after the latter revelation of his evil atrocity flashed across Rosie’s mind, crippling her soul.
"You don’t have to be scared of me, my dear." Senator Gregory smiled, staring compassionately at his niece. "I do not blame you for what your father did to me and my family. Irrespective of what is happening, you are still my little niece, and I care about you, your brother and your mother."
Rosie nodded her head even though she didn’t believe a single word coming from her uncle’s mouth. She believed he hated her just as he despised her father.
What are the odds that he didn’t kidnap her the way her father kidnapped Amelia? Could this be his revenge mission?
"Rosie, I know what, you are thinking. But trust me, I would never..." Senator Gregory had barely completed his sentence when Rosie broke down in tears.
"Uncle please, do not let them hurt me. I’m so sorry for what my father did to my cousin Amelia. Please do not do the same thing to me. Let me go back to my mother and brother. I do not want to stay with my father anymore. I just want to be safely away from him."
Senator Gregory sighed from the other end, knowing the young girl would never believe a single word from him until she saw her mother.
"Alright, my dear. I promise no harm will come to you. I also promise that your mother and brother will be with you in a short while. Tomorrow I will speak with you again when you are all together. Okay."
Rosie bobbed her head, wiping her tears with the back of her hand. "Thank you, uncle." She gave the phone back to Josie with a weary smile.
"So... will you eat now?" Josie made her way to the bed and carried the tray of food over to Rosie.
"I’m not hungry." Rosie withdrew back into her shell.
"Okay. I guess I’ll have to eat everything." Josie dropped the tray on the floor and sat down. She pick up a fuck and started eating, completely ignoring Rosie. She smiled when she caught Rosie chewing her mouth and swallowing saliva every time she took a bite of the yummy golden brown deliciousness.
"Are you going to finish it?" Rosie finally spoke when the food was halfway gone.
"Of course not. There is more where this came from." Josie picked up a second fork and handed it over to Rosie, who wasted no time digging into the food.

After hours of being in the night traffic, groaning in pain from the assault on her body, Pearl was beyond grateful to be back home–where the food was warm, and the bed was soft and cozy
She wept bitterly, as she relayed her ugly experience to her elder sister, who was equally suffering from Harriet’s brutal justice.
"Don’t worry my dear sister." Regina patted Pearl on the head. "Rest for now and let the drugs do their work. When we are strong again, we will pay a visit to that cursed family. I will make sure that every single one of them, down to their miserable-looking last daughter, is not spared from my wrath."
Pearl nodded slowly, tears streaming down the side of her cheeks, as she closed her eyes and surrendered to the comforting arms of sleep.
