Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict-Chapter 540 - : 539 Celebration Banquet
Chapter 540: 539 Celebration Banquet
Luo Haofeng touched his nose and left the building, not heading to his own office, but heading to Qin Mu’s. He took a seat on the couch, lazily leaning against the backrest.
“I think it’s a good opportunity. Mo Xiuchen has no intention of staying at the MS Group anymore, why not seize this chance to develop Haochen? It will eventually fall into Mo Zixuan’s hands anyway.”
Luo Haofeng picked up a cigarette from the box on the coffee table. He placed the cigarette lightly between his fingers. His narrow, almond-shaped, romance-filled eyes were filled with a glinting humor as he sought Qin Mu’s opinion.
With a slight frown, Qin Mu looked at him coldly, “Xiuchen may loathe his old man and wanted to retaliate against him and Wenqing, but he might not want to do so.”
Upon hearing Mo Jingteng’s name, Luo Haofeng snorted coldly. The handsome contours of his face hardened a bit. “Xiuchen appears cold-hearted and ruthless on the surface, but deep down, he is pretty kind. If it were me, I wouldn’t consider that so-called familial bond. Mo Jingteng is totally unworthy of being his father.”
The hardships Xiuchen faced over the years were all orchestrated by Mo Jingteng, who even turned a blind eye to them.
Qin Mu’s expression also turned cold.
As close friends of Xiuchen, both of them knew exactly what Xiuchen had undergone over these years.
Once, his mother had said, “Xiuchen’s parents are equally cruel. If it were me, I would not allow my own son to suffer so much in this world.”
“Regardless of Xiuchen’s decision, we can only respect it. As for Haochen, whether we should seize the opportunity or wait a little longer, I’ll call An Lin later. You don’t have to worry about it!”

At the evening’s celebratory banquet, both Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen did not bother to get all dressed up. They wore their usual day attire. The man looked handsome and distinguished while the lady looked elegant and graceful. They appeared before everyone, hand in hand, still stunning in their simple attire amidst a crowd that had spent considerable effort dressing up, sparking off feelings of admiration.
In the afternoon, when Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran went to the company together, only a few people saw them. Although word spread throughout the office, nothing could match the impact of seeing them in person.
At that moment, seeing Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran hand in hand, they were the perfect couple, male and female, handsome and beautiful. That sight left everyone dumbfounded, their eyes wide open in surprise.
For some time, rumors about them had been spreading quietly within the company. Everyone knew that there was a problem between Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen, she even refused to see Mo Xiuchen and even moved back into her mother’s house.
These past few days,Even more people were saying that the president and his wife were considering divorce. It fueled speculation whether it was because Wen Ran had found out about her infertility that was reported by the media some time back and thus wanted to leave Mo Xiuchen.
This sudden reappearance of Wen Ran left everyone in shock.
Moreover, the president looked at his wife with tender affection, his eyes brimming with love. It elicited the admiration of the men and the jealousy of the women.
Some people from the PR department looked at Wen Ran, and couldn’t help turning their heads to look at Cheng Jia. Apart from two people who were close to her, everyone else’s gaze towards Cheng Jia was filled with undisguised derision.
Cheng Jia’s facial expression changed a few times, her grip on her glass tightened. She had to suppress her strong feelings of jealousy in front of everyone.
“Mr. Mo, Miss Wen!”
Bearing a smile, she stepped forward to greet them. Mo Xiuchen didn’t even glance at her as he looked at Wen Ran with tender eyes, seemingly oblivious to the people in the surroundings.
He accepted a drink from a waiter and softly said to Wen Ran, “Ranran, have a drink first.”
Taking the drink, Wen Ran said thanks and took a sip of her drink before giving Mo Xiuchen a tender smile. Only then did she raise her eyes to look towards Cheng Jia, as if just noticing her. Feigning surprise, she gave Cheng Jia a faint smile, “Miss Cheng, congratulations to you.”
Cheng Jia showed a moment of disappointment in her eyes while her heart was filled with jealousy.
However, with so many people in front of her, she did not dare to express her love for Mo Xiuchen, nor her jealousy toward Wen Ran. On her delicately made-up face was a charming and poised smile, “Thanks, Miss Wen!”
Her words had scarcely left her mouth when her adoring eyes moved to Mo Xiuchen. She was about to say something when Mo Xiuchen spoke first. He said to Wen Ran, “Wait for me here for a moment, Ranran.”
Wen Ran nodded, “Okay.”
Mo Xiuchen completed his sentence and then let his gaze fall on Cheng Jia, then turned around and walked to the stage.
This was an internal celebration party of the company, not as formal and with fewer rules than other events. Mo Xiuchen walked directly onto the stage. The emcee gave a brief introduction before handing over the microphone to him.
Amidst thunderous applause, he took over the microphone. His deep and cold eyes scanned the audience before he spoke, “Tonight’s celebration banquet…”
Wen Ran’s phone rang. She pulled her gaze away from the stage and turned around, walking out of the hall to answer the call outside.
“Hello, Xiaoxiao.”
“Ranran. I heard that you attended the banquet with Mo Xiuchen?”
The voice of Bai Xiaoxiao came from the other end of the phone, sounding cheerful yet filled with curiosity. Wen Ran lifted her hand to brush away a tendril of hair from her ear and replied with a smile, “Yes, I was idle, so I came to partake in the buzz.”
“Now that you’re there, you have to watch Mo Xiuchen closely, don’t let that wretched woman Cheng Jia have a chance to get close to him.”
Wen Ran chuckled lightly, “Don’t worry, I’ll accompany Xiuchen. Cheng Jia won’t get a chance.”
She sent her gaze into the distance, pursed her lips slightly and thought to herself, even if she was going to leave eventually, even if Xiuchen needed someone to take care of him, it wouldn’t be Cheng Jia.
“Then I’ll rest easy.”
Upon hearing Wen Ran speak in that firm tone, Bai Xiaoxiao’s worries evaporated.
After chatting for a few more moments, Wen Ran ended the call. From behind her, a soft voice rang out, “Ranran!”
Startled, Wen Ran turned around. When her eyes met the deep, dark eyes of the straight-laced Mo Zixuan who was only two steps away, her eyebrows furrowed lightly, and her voice was slightly cold, “What is it?”
Mo Zixuan looked at her, a mix of complex emotions in his eyes. She was not decked up like the other women that night, she didn’t even change her clothes. However, in his eyes, she was far more beautiful than any of those women around. She was as pure as a clear spring, and as beautiful as an angel from heaven.
Her image compelled him to approach, but he wasn’t quite sure what to say. He pursed his lips, hesitating, “I’m trying to persuade my mother to tell us Fu Jingyi’s whereabouts.”
Upon hearing this, Wen Ran’s expression underwent a subtle change.
Mo Zixuan’s own expression was somewhat unnatural too, he didn’t know why he had brought up this topic with her.
Just now, when he saw her step outside, he couldn’t help but follow her, just wanting to be close. He just picked up a random topic to break the silence.
Ever since he had regained that memory, his affection for her had returned. A couple of days ago, when he heard that she was considering divorcing from Mo Xiuchen, he was gleefully joyous.
But just before, when he saw her appearing with Mo Xiuchen, being as affectionate as ever, he felt as if his heart was blocked by a pile of random rocks. It was a terrible feeling of discomfort.
Why must she return to Mo Xiuchen’s side?
