Chapter 839: 838 You’d rather ask Ah Mu for help
“So, if you’re bored, why not help Ah Jin, especially since you’re familiar with the pharmaceutical factory?”
Qin Mu knew Wen Ran reasonably well and understood she wasn’t used to idling all day, especially since Mo Xiuchen had to go to work every day and could be very busy.
His suggestion for her to work at the pharmaceutical factory was just a casual one.
“Qin Mu, you’re really thoughtful. If I weren’t worried about my two brothers getting jealous, I’d want to consider you as my brother.”
Wen Ran’s lighthearted words stiffened Qin Mu’s smile for a moment, but it quickly returned to normal as he joked, “I’d dare not become your brother; that would drive Mo Xiuchen crazy.”
Thinking of the scene in the afternoon where Mo Xiuchen and Gu Kai were vying for Wen Ran’s attention, Qin Mu felt a surge of emotion.

Wen Ran couldn’t help but laugh. After she finished laughing, she changed the subject, “Qin Mu, aren’t you going to take Aunt Qin home before heading to City C?”
“No need.”
Qin Mu’s gaze flickered slightly as he calmly replied.
Wen Ran wanted to say something more, but Qin Mu seemed to have already foreseen her thoughts. He narrowed his eyes and directly asked, “Ranran, did my mom say something to you?”
Startled, Wen Ran instinctively raised her hand to touch her face, prompting Qin Mu to smile slightly: “It’s not written on your face, but I know my mom’s way of doing things.”
“I haven’t said anything yet.”
Well, since he had already mentioned it, there was no point in hiding it anymore, Wen Ran thought.
These men were all sharply clever; her naive mind couldn’t match them. She pursed her lips and softly said, “Aunt Qin only has you as a son; it’s natural for them to hope you’ll stay close.”
A trace of melancholy flickered through Qin Mu’s eyes, but he crafted a mild smile, “Ranran, I’ve already promised my mom that once Mo Xiuchen’s situation here is settled, I’ll move back to A City to develop my career and stay by their side to fulfill my filial duties.”
He paused slightly, his eyes warmly on Wen Ran, “As for anything else, no matter what my mom said, don’t take it to heart. I wish you and Mo Xiuchen happiness.”
He spoke the last sentence very slowly.
Each word, uttered deliberately, was a heartfelt blessing.
Wen Ran felt a warmth in her heart, just about to say something, when a deep, magnetic voice from behind her called out, “Ranran!”
Qin Mu turned around, saw Mo Xiuchen approaching them, and gave Wen Ran a slight smile, “Mo Xiuchen has come out to find you.”
As Mo Xiuchen approached, his deep eyes swept over Wen Ran and looked at Qin Mu, saying, “Shen Yuting said Ranran needed your help with something. I came out to see what it was?”
“You should ask Ranran.”
Qin Mu raised an eyebrow, glanced at Wen Ran, and turned to walk towards the private room.
Watching Qin Mu’s retreating figure, Wen Ran inexplicably felt a twinge of guilt; she indeed owed Qin Mu a favor.
“Ranran, what are you thinking about?”
Mo Xiuchen stopped in front of Wen Ran, his tall figure casting a shadow over her delicate face. Seeing her gaze linger in the direction Qin Mu had left, a sense of gloom settled in his heart.
Wen Ran snapped out of it and met Mo Xiuchen’s deep, gentle eyes. She smiled slightly, “It’s nothing; did you come out specially to find me?”
“Yes.”
Mo Xiuchen nodded seriously, his gaze intense and clear as he watched her.
Wen Ran’s steady heartbeat skipped uncontrollably under his tender gaze, and in her ears, Mo Xiuchen’s voice fell with a warm, masculine breath: “Ranran, did you really ask Ah Mu for help?”
“Ah? I guess so.”
Wen Ran didn’t want Mo Xiuchen to misunderstand, and after thinking, she decided not to tell him.
Mo Xiuchen, a man so meticulous, could easily see through things. When he heard Wen Ran’s “I guess so,” a slight pang of pain crossed his heart, and a flash of disappointment flickered through his eyes.
“Is there any help you need that I cannot provide?”
He suddenly felt an urge to know what she had just said to Qin Mu. His gaze firmly locked on her, and though his voice was soft and deep, it had an imposing and dominant tone.
Wen Ran forced a smile that wasn’t quite natural, “It’s just a small favor. You aren’t going to City C, how can you help?”
Mo Xiuchen suddenly laughed, his smile clean and elegant yet tinged with self-mockery: “Ranran, it seems I’m still not doing enough. You’d rather ask Ah Mu for help and not tell me about it.”
“Mo Xiuchen.”
Wen Ran exclaimed in shock.
“Everyone is waiting; let’s go back to the private room.”
Mo Xiuchen smiled and turned to leave without holding Wen Ran’s hand.
Wen Ran felt a bitterness in her chest. Seeing Mo Xiuchen step away, she pursed her lips and followed. Mo Xiuchen opened the door to the private room, and inside, everyone’s gaze turned toward them.
Shen Yuting turned her head to look at the doorway, seeing Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran enter one after the other, not hand in hand, her eyes flickered for a moment as she quickly lowered her eyelids, her mind uncontrollably speculating whether Mo Xiuchen was jealous.
“Ranran, Mo Xiuchen, I thought you two weren’t coming back.”
Gu Kai spoke with a hint of amusement, his eyes casually sweeping over Shen Yuting, who was being watched by Mo Xiuchen, while beside her, Jiang Liu served her a bowl of soup, gently saying, “Yuting, come on, have some soup.”
“Oh… ah…”
Caught in her chaotic thoughts, Shen Yuting panicked when Jiang Liu reached out his hand unexpectedly. As she raised her hand in reaction, she accidentally knocked over the soup Jiang Liu had placed in front of her.
“Yuting, are you alright, did you burn your hand?”
Jiang Liu’s expression changed, immediately asking with concern.
Shen Yuting shook her head, her expression somewhat displeased. In front of everyone, she didn’t erupt but said stiffly: “I’m fine, don’t serve me soup, I won’t drink it.”
“Let the waiter come in and wipe it down.”
Gu Kai spoke calmly, his gaze shifting to Jiang Liu, who got the hint and quickly stood up, saying, “Yuting, you sit here first.”
“No need, there’s an empty spot over there.”
Shen Yuting stood up, intending to sit in the empty spot next to Mo Xiuchen, reserved for Gu Yan, who couldn’t make it because of a last-minute dinner engagement.
Jiang Liu’s face changed but he didn’t stop her.
“Ranran, you sit with Yuting, it’s easier for you two to talk.” Mo Xiuchen saw Shen Yuting sit next to him, he pulled out a chair, turned his head, and addressed Wen Ran.
“Alright.”
Wen Ran glanced at him, then looked at Shen Yuting, who shifted her gaze away from Mo Xiuchen and called out to her: “Ranran, come, let’s sit together. Just now, as soon as Mo Xiuchen heard you were asking Ah Mu for help, he couldn’t sit still and had to go out to look for you. Mo Xiuchen might have said he lost his memories, but his care for you is just the same as before.”
“Indeed, Mo Xiuchen’s whole life is meant for Ranran. Even if he temporarily forgets, he still cares. It’s not just Ah Mu’s jealousy he would feel; he would even be jealous of Ah Kai.”
Luo Haofeng raised his eyebrows and smiled, his words possibly purposeful or maybe not. However, in the ears of Shen Yuting, her eyes flickered slightly.
