Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 568 - 567: I’ll pick you up later
Nia Mitchell’s words stung like a needle, pricking everyone present.
They looked at each other, but none made a move to pick up their chopsticks to eat.
Minutes slipped away.
When the Manager arrived with the waiter again, he found an odd situation.
"Mrs. Peary, what in the world happened here?"
Nobody knew.
"Um... Mrs. Peary, this was ordered by Mr. Peary."
He repeated the same line, then signaled the waiter to present the fruit plate.
Nia Mitchell raised an eyebrow, looked at the exquisite fruits on the plate, and smiled courteously.
"You’ve been working hard, Manager."
Saying so, Nia Mitchell took out her phone to call Maxwell Peary.
"Hmm? Missing me already?"
Maxwell Peary stretched his stiff muscles during the call, gazing out of the large window to see the sky had already turned completely dark. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
When will it end?
How boring it was without his wife by his side.
Maxwell Peary glanced at the time; it was already past seven in the evening. Perhaps she’d eaten the dish he’d specially ordered for her, and only then remembered him?
It must be said, Young Master Peary had indeed guessed right.
"It should end soon. I’ll go home once dinner is finished."
Nia Mitchell grabbed a strawberry and popped it into her mouth. Although everyone was watching her, she didn’t feel embarrassed.
"What about you? Have you had dinner yet?"
It was fine until dinner was mentioned; only then did Maxwell Peary realize he was hungry.
He hadn’t just missed dinner; he hadn’t even had time for a proper lunch!
"Not yet."
Maxwell Peary responded with a hint of resentment, his voice completely lacking its usual authority.
At this moment, he seemed more like an ordinary man.
"Ah?"
Nia Mitchell exclaimed, unsure how to react.
He hasn’t eaten. Should I show some concern and tell him to eat soon?
The corner of her mouth twitched. Saying something like that wouldn’t help at all.
Having not heard anything more from Nia Mitchell, Maxwell Peary shook his head, slightly disappointed.
"What time does it end? I’ll come pick you up."
Maxwell Peary shut down the computer. After working all day, even a machine would need to rest.
Hearing his words, Nia Mitchell pondered.
"I’m almost done eating. Why don’t you come over now? It’ll take you some time to get here anyway."
After exchanging a few more words, Nia Mitchell hung up.
Everyone present had heard their conversation clearly.
What exactly did Nia Mitchell just say?
She asked her husband to come over shortly?
No way! Wasn’t she always keeping him a secret?
And was she really on the phone with her husband?
Perhaps there was more to this than they knew. Everyone sat without intending to leave.
They absolutely had to see Nia Mitchell’s husband; that had become everyone’s objective.
After hanging up, Nia Mitchell turned to Charles Northwood beside her.
"Why aren’t you eating?"
Charles Northwood paused, seeming to have been lost in thought and only just snapping back to reality.
"I’m not particularly hungry. Are you done eating?"
"Oh, I’m almost done. I don’t think there’s anything else planned for tonight, so I plan to leave soon."
Of course. Young Master Peary was coming to pick her up; did they really expect him to wait?
"Alright, be safe. Text me when you get home so I know you’ve arrived safely," Charles Northwood said, nodding.
Julia Adams heard their conversation clearly, her face showing her displeasure.
"Her husband is coming to pick her up. She doesn’t need your concern."
