Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk-Chapter 904: Her Consideration Makes One’s Heart Ache
When the Maybach drove into Crimson Hill Villa, it was just the darkest moment of the day.
The driver steadily parked the vehicle in the lot and only turned into the underground garage after the owner of the car had entered the house.
In the garage, there were countless luxury cars, perhaps a wealth unimaginable to ordinary people in a lifetime.
The entire villa was engulfed in silence, with only Uncle Kevin waiting in the living room for Jasper Sinclair.
The man was so eager that he even forgot to change his shoes, almost wishing to cover three meters in a single step.
"Mr. Sinclair, you’re back."
Uncle Kevin’s slightly aged voice made him slow down his steps and say, "Why haven’t you rested yet?"
"Madam was worried about you, so I stayed here, hoping it would reassure her a bit."
Jasper’s eyes darkened slightly, "It’s late, go get some rest."
The two parted ways in the living room, heading in opposite directions.
The butler’s room and the owner’s room were not located in the same area.
Jasper climbed the stairs with steady steps; the door to the living room was tightly closed.
Just a second before pushing the door open, he lightened his movements, fearing to wake the person asleep inside.
Yet he didn’t know that Nora Northwood had difficulty gathering sleepiness due to his absence tonight.
A wide three-meter soft bed had a sunken spot.
Nora was holding a stuffed pillow, lost in thought.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, she reflexively lifted her chin, eyes slightly red.
However, only a bedside lamp was lit in the room, making it easy to overlook the redness in her eyes.
Facing those clear eyes, Jasper cursed himself silently, what an idiot!
Frustrated yet heartbroken, he said, "Why aren’t you asleep yet? It’s already very late."
Staying up late only accelerates the spread of the virus; thinking of this, Jasper felt even more pained.
Nora had no idea what was going on in his mind at that moment, "You stood me up and came back so late without even giving me a reasonable explanation, right?"
Jasper had comforting words on the tip of his tongue but he couldn’t utter them.
He couldn’t reveal his ongoing plan; he couldn’t let Nora bear these unknown sufferings with him.
"It’s year-end, and the company is terribly busy. I forgot your message. I apologize."
What Nora wanted was never just an apology.
Yet, Jasper used work as an excuse, giving her no outlet for even a small outburst.
Must she make a fuss?
Would she come off as annoyingly unreasonable?
The two held their respective concerns, leaving them speechless for a moment.
Nora didn’t even doubt the truthfulness of the man’s words; she always trusted him wholeheartedly and completely.
"Uncle Kevin said you didn’t eat tonight; shall I make you some noodles?"
"Just in time, I am a bit hungry."
Both were looking for a way to ease the atmosphere for each other.
Nora added, "I’ll join you."
When Jasper grabbed her wrist, it still felt a bit surreal to her.
The kitchen lights came on - fresh vegetables, boiling water, the smell of flour and handmade noodles... all embodying the unique warmth of Crimson Hill Villa.
Soon, the aroma spread.
Nora’s stomach embarrassingly growled, a sensation of hunger she hadn’t felt for a long time.
Subconsciously, she placed her palm over her lower abdomen, thinking: The baby would like the noodles personally cooked by Dad.
Jasper handed her the chopsticks, "Try it, see how it tastes."
