Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk-Chapter 932: Abortion Surgery Interrupted
When she opened her eyes again, there was a sparkle in the clarity.
Nora Northwood involuntarily pouted, accusing the man looking down at her from above: "Why were you so harsh with me!"
As she spoke, the tears just started falling, one after another, unstoppable.
Jasper Sinclair saw her pitiful expression, and his heart softened again.
How could he be harsh with her?
The man let out a heavy sigh, finding himself helpless with her.
Then, he softly said, "Our baby is still here."
Nora Northwood seemed to have heard an incredible piece of news. Immediately, the tears stopped.
She asked in a daze: "What did you say? Say it again."
"I said, our baby wasn’t lost, it’s still in your belly. Feel it."
A thought flashed through Nora Northwood’s mind.
She carefully pulled her hand out from under the covers and placed it on her lower abdomen.
There was no pain, not a hint of discomfort.
Looking up again into a pair of dark eyes, her voice carried a raspiness uncharacteristic of her as she asked: "When did you get here?"
"One minute before the surgery."
"Did mom tell you?"
"Yes."
Nora Northwood’s expression froze for a moment. Whether it was happiness or sadness behind the stiffness, she couldn’t say.
Elaine, worried that the two might argue over this, came in to mediate.
She first apologized to Nora Northwood and then said: "This is your first child. I don’t want you to regret for your whole life because of a moment’s impulsive decision."
Nora Northwood looked at Elaine.
A mother knows her daughter best... If the abortion had proceeded, Nora Northwood would have spent the rest of her life in regret and remorse.
"Mom..." she called Elaine but couldn’t say anything more.
"Don’t blame me for making decisions on my own. If you insist on your choice next time, I won’t stop you again."
In front of Jasper Sinclair, how could Nora Northwood dare mention abortion again?
She knew that her actions this time had indeed gone too far.
"Jasper, what happened today was because I was too impulsive. It won’t happen again."
"Remember what you said."
Jasper Sinclair’s expression remained grave, but it looked a little better than before.
"I will remember."
"Lie down and rest for a while. Once this IV is finished, I’ll take you home."
While Nora Northwood was unconscious, Jasper Sinclair had explained everything that had happened recently to Elaine.
Elaine was worried, but she didn’t say much. She didn’t want to add more pressure to the couple.
However, she had contacted an old traditional Chinese medicine practitioner back home and connected Jasper Sinclair with him.
Elaine’s original words were like this: "After losing Nora, I saw many psychiatrists and took medication for depression, but they didn’t improve my physical condition. Later, it was this traditional Chinese medicine practitioner who helped disperse the blocks in my body."
Jasper Sinclair didn’t know much about traditional medicine, but after hearing Elaine’s words, he still held out a glimmer of hope.
With the matter resolved, Elaine didn’t stay long at the hospital, trusting that Jasper Sinclair would take good care of Nora Northwood.
At the same time, she attempted to reconnect with her past networks.
Master Elaine’s name held a certain status internationally.
Even if it couldn’t offer substantial help, it could provide more avenues to explore.
When Jasper Sinclair returned to the ward after seeing Elaine off, he found Nora Northwood staring blankly at the ceiling, her eyes vacant.
