Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk-Chapter 978: Only Punishes the Wicked
Jasper Sinclair always maintained a leisurely attitude, but it was Nora Northwood who couldn’t hold it together first.
The little boy in front of her, whose name she didn’t even know, stirred up deep memories within Nora.
Back in her teens, May Lawrence never disciplined her at all. If she thought about it carefully, her situation back then was no different from that of the little boy now.
She stepped forward, took the boy’s hand, and sat down on the sofa opposite them.
"Let’s chat. You don’t need to be nervous; you can treat this place like your home." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Thank you, sister."
Nora’s gentle demeanor made the tip of the boy’s nose sting with emotion. This was one of the most genuine feelings a person could have — he indeed felt warmth and thus became overwhelmed with emotion.
Aside from Damien, no one had ever spoken to him so gently. Those bodyguards might protect his safety, but they didn’t like him.
In the harmonious scene, a discordant voice emerged.
Jasper Sinclair lightly clenched his fist, pressed it against his lips, and deliberately coughed twice to signal Nora to return to his side.
Nora lifted her gaze and returned to her previous position, but her eyes never left the boy.
She took over Jasper Sinclair’s role, speaking slowly, "Did you come here alone?"
"Yes."
"What brings you here to find us?"
"I want to beg you to save my sister."
As soon as these words were spoken, the boy could think of nothing else; his mind was filled only with the words "save sister."
"Save Damien?"
"Yes."
Jasper Sinclair didn’t move a muscle; even the expression on his face didn’t change in the slightest.
"Why do you want us to save her? Can you tell us what you know?"
"I can, as long as you promise me you’ll let my sister live."
The moment he finished speaking, a snort came from Jasper Sinclair.
The snort sounded light, but the sarcasm within it was not.
The man lightly spoke, "So young, and already learning to negotiate conditions with people?"
The solemn little boy noticed the shift in the atmosphere around him, his back straightening. "I just want my sister to live."
He cast a timid gaze at Jasper Sinclair, filled with intense fear, but he held in his heart the person he wanted to save.
Nora gently nudged Jasper Sinclair with her elbow, hoping he would restrain himself a bit and not scare the child.
The chill emanating from Jasper Sinclair seemed ready to erupt at any moment.
Immediately after, he spoke in a low voice, "My wife is tormented by illness, and the drugs that torment her come from Damien. I do have the ability to save you and your sister, but why do you assume I would want to?"
The reason Jasper Sinclair said this was also to subtly remind Nora.
No one understood Nora’s kindness better than he did, but sometimes, kindness was of no use...
Nora naturally understood Jasper’s intention, sighed silently, and did not interfere with his decision anymore.
After a moment of calm, the boy scratched his head and earnestly explained, "My sister only punishes bad people; she wouldn’t randomly poison others."
"You’re not her, so how can you be sure?"
"I just know... Anyway, my sister is a good person!" As he said the last part, the boy’s tone suddenly raised, unprecedentedly bright.
"That explanation doesn’t hold water."
