Flash Marriage With Mr. Sheffield: Go Away, Cheap Man!-Chapter 130: Julian Hawthorne Personally Admits He Likes Clara Sterling
"What! You’re resigning!" Lisa Holloway and Anabelle Spencer exclaimed in unison upon hearing Clara Sterling’s resignation.
Clara Sterling was very calm, "Yes."
Anabelle Spencer frowned, "Why so suddenly?"
"Didn’t you say you would resign and apply for graduate school at the end of June?" Lisa Holloway asked.
Clara Sterling: "Changed my mind last minute."
Lisa Holloway looked distressed, "Ah... What am I going to do without you? My work buddy, boohoo..."
Clara Sterling patted her shoulder, "Don’t worry, I’m only resigning, not cutting ties with you. We can still keep in touch."
"What about me?" Anabelle Spencer asked, "I can keep in touch with you too, right?"
Clara Sterling smiled, "Of course."
It was already quitting time.
Everyone was gathering their things to leave.
"Boohoo, will I not see you tomorrow?" Lisa Holloway cried, looking miserable.
"I will come tomorrow to hand over the work," Clara Sterling said.
"Sigh," Lisa Holloway sighed, "I’ll feel so lonely without you."
Clara Sterling laughed and said, "It’s okay, Anabelle will still be with you."
Lisa Holloway pouted, "You both have your charms, missing either of you feels off."
Clara Sterling comforted her, "Alright, don’t be upset. It’s not like we’ll never see each other again."
Diana Dawson happened to pass by and heard Clara Sterling was resigning, and laughed ambiguously.
"Finally showing your face and leaving the company?"
Jolyn Lowell stood beside Diana Dawson, knowing Clara Sterling was leaving, and dropped the pretense, taunting, "Was it because President Hawthorne rejected your confession and you felt embarrassed?"
Clara Sterling frowned.
"Who said I confessed to President Hawthorne?"
Diana Dawson sneered, "What’s the act? I saw you got into President Hawthorne’s car on 520 day."
Clara Sterling’s eyes turned cold.
"Getting into the car means I confessed to him?"
"Hey, why are you two so gossipy? Planning to spread rumors again? Forgot Jonah Shaw’s fate?" Lisa Holloway stood up for Clara Sterling.
Anabelle Spencer also spoke coldly, "You two have such malice towards Clara because of jealousy, right?"
Diana Dawson smirked, "Jealous of her? What’s there to be jealous of?"
Anabelle Spencer laughed, "She’s prettier than you, more capable than you, and even attracts President Hawthorne’s favor."
Just then, Julian Hawthorne walked out of the office.
If nothing unexpected happened, he overheard what Anabelle Spencer had just said.
Diana Dawson saw Julian Hawthorne and immediately restrained her sharp look, smiling shyly and softly calling "President Hawthorne."
Julian Hawthorne: "Hmm."
Diana Dawson knew Julian Hawthorne must have heard what Anabelle Spencer said earlier, so she pretended and whispered with a whiny tone, "President Hawthorne, Anabelle just spread a rumor saying you like Clara Sterling."
Julian Hawthorne looked at Diana Dawson coldly, starkly contrasting his usual gentle demeanor.
"She wasn’t wrong."
These words left everyone present stunned.
Diana Dawson’s pretended shy smile and charm could no longer hold, "What?"
Julian Hawthorne didn’t explain further.
When he turned to look at Clara Sterling, his gaze softened, "Is the work handover done?"
Clara Sterling was in shock, "No, I’ll come again tomorrow for the handover."
"Okay." Julian Hawthorne said no more, walking past the girls without stopping.
Leaving a group of people standing there, dumbfounded.
"Did I hear wrong? Did President Hawthorne just admit he likes you?" Lisa Holloway stared at Clara Sterling, shocked.
Anabelle Spencer had an "I knew it" look, smiling slyly at Diana Dawson, "Given up now?"
Diana Dawson and Jolyn Lowell looked displeased.
Especially Diana Dawson, her face turning slightly pale.
Being slapped in the face there and then, hearing her crush admit he likes another woman was not a good feeling.
She was so angry she couldn’t speak, glared hard at Clara Sterling, and left in discontent, stomping her high heels.
In her rush, she even twisted her ankle.
Jolyn Lowell also left dejectedly.
Lisa Holloway looked at Clara Sterling with admiration.
"Clara, you’re truly a winner in life, even President Hawthorne admitted liking you."
"..."
She never thought Julian Hawthorne would openly admit his feelings for her in front of so many people.
Especially knowing she was already married.
In recent days, besides work, she and Julian Hawthorne had almost no communication, she thought he had already lost interest.
"Can you help me keep what happened today a secret?" Clara Sterling said.
She didn’t want it reaching Silas Sheffield’s ears, where jealousy brews.
"Don’t worry." Lisa Holloway gestured an "OK".
"Why keep it a secret? Isn’t it a good thing?" Anabelle Spencer was confused, "The company doesn’t allow office romances. You’re leaving, and you could be with President Hawthorne, isn’t it a great opportunity!"
Clara Sterling: "I’m already married."
"What on earth?" Anabelle Spencer’s eyes widened in shock.
"Shocking, right." Lisa Holloway said wistfully, "I was shocked when I first found out. There’s even more shocking news you won’t believe who her husband is."
"Who is it?"
Lisa Holloway: "That’s a secret."
Anabelle Spencer suddenly realized.
She squinted at Lisa Holloway.
"When you said the secret, you weren’t having Clara keep your moving secret, right? It’s keeping Clara’s marriage a secret and her husband’s identity?"
"You guessed it." Lisa Holloway happily said.
Anabelle Spencer shook Lisa Holloway’s shoulders, "Quick, tell me who Clara’s husband is!"
"I can’t say, I swore to secrecy!"
"Alright, Anabelle, don’t make it hard for her. I’ll tell you."
Clara Sterling thought, since Anabelle Spencer is her friend, five days from now at the anniversary celebration, Silas Sheffield would publicly reveal their relationship, telling Anabelle Spencer early was okay.
Clara Sterling leaned in closer to Anabelle Spencer and whispered Silas Sheffield’s name in her ear.
"What!!!" Anabelle Spencer exclaimed in shock.
