Floating Islands: SSS Gacha Lord-Chapter 88 - [TW!] Her Last Lesson
Without hesitation, the men yanked Mira’s father and mother down to the floor. Brutal kicks and stomps rained down on them. Her parents cried out in agony, curling up, trying desperately to shield themselves from the assault.
"NO! STOP IT!" Mira screamed through the gag. "DON’T HURT THEM! PLEASE! LEAVE THEM ALONE!"
She writhed and twisted, thrashing violently against the ropes that bound her, but no matter how hard she fought, it was useless.
"LET THEM GO! I’LL DO ANYTHING! PLEASE, STOP THIS!"
The boy watched it all with twisted satisfaction. A slow, mocking laugh escaped his lips.
"Look at you, HA HA HA" he sneered. "So much for that terrifying monster act. Now you’re just a scared little girl."
He chuckled again, shaking his head in mock disappointment.
"This is what you get, Mira. This is what happens when someone like you thinks she can stand above everyone else."
Atlas stood off in the corner, fists clenched so tightly. His whole body shook, rage roaring through his chest. He wanted to scream, to tear through the memory and destroy them all.
But he couldn’t.
He could only watch!
How will this end?
Mira would survive, she had to. After all, she would one day rise to be a Lord. But her parents?
This torture...
Surely, their screams could be heard from outside the house. They were loud enough to carry. Yet no one came. Not a single person intervened.
Frustrated, Atlas stepped out of the room, his eyes scanning the area outside for anyone who might intervene. Instead, he saw passersby hurrying along, their faces turned downward, avoiding even a glance in the house’s direction.
Fear was etched into their expressions, and not a single person stopped. If anything, they quickened their pace to distance themselves from whatever was happening inside.
This world, so deceptively peaceful on the surface, hid a cruel and heartless core.
A world where those with power could do anything they want to the weak, even in broad daylight, without fear of consequences.
"DAD!!! MOM!!!"
Another scream echoed through the house.
Atlas rushed back into the room. What greeted him was a scene of utter horror.
Dad Mira and Mom Mira lay motionless on the cold floor. Blood pooled beneath them.
Mira’s muffled scream tore from her throat, raw and guttural.
"No! NO!! PLEASE. MOM!! DAD!! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!!"
"YOU MONSTERS!! I’LL KILL YOU!! I’LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!"
But her cries only seemed to fuel the boy’s twisted pride.
"Hahaha! You paid for it, Mira! You paid for it!" he jeered, stepping closer with a sick grin on his face.
"Fenra will love this! She’ll finally notice me now! I’ve given you the cruelest punishment possible!"
He raised his arms like a performer finishing an act.
"You wanted to stand above me? Look at you now. Broken. Alone. And powerless."
Mira’s scream tore through the room. Her body trembled, fists clenched so tightly her knuckles turned white. Veins bulged along her arms, her muscles straining violently against the restraints.
"YOU BASTARDS!!" she screamed through the gag.
"I’LL RIP YOU APART!! I’LL MAKE YOU SUFFER!! I’LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!! NEVER!!"
Her sobs twisted into snarls, each breath laced with fury and pain. Her entire frame shook as if her very soul was trying to break free.
Wait... did they actually kill her parents?!
Damn it... What the hell?!
Are they serious? Did they really just kill them?!
This piece of trash ordered them to murder her parents?!
Mira’s eyes snapped open, now glowing a deep, menacing crimson. A low growl rumbled from her throat as razor-sharp claws erupted from her fingertips, tearing through skin like they’d always belonged there.
Is she... a rabbit? Or a wolf?
"What?! What’s happening to her?!" the bandaged boy shrieked.
"Hold her down!" he screamed, stumbling backward. "Don’t let her escape! Do NOT let her escape!"
The men hesitated for a split second, unnerved by the sudden transformation, but they began moving toward her.
Mira broke free in an instant, her movements sharp. She hissed, baring her sharp teeth as the six men quickly closed in, surrounding her.
Atlas remained still, watching intently, his mind racing.
What will the outcome of this be?
It was clear that none of the six men were Awakened, only ordinary humans. But Mira, in this state, was anything but ordinary. She had become feral, her instincts taking over completely.
One of the men lunged at her, but Mira slipped past him with terrifying speed. Before any of them could react, she was already behind another attacker.
"Help! Someone help me!" the man screamed. But it was too late.
Mira’s claws drove deep into his neck, her hand gripping his throat. Blood sprayed violently, splattering across the room as the man collapsed, gurgling, to the floor.
The bandaged boy’s face twisted in horror. He turned to run, stumbling over his own feet as he sprinted toward the door.
"STOP HER!! SOMEBODY STOP HER!!"
"GET ME OUT OF HERE!!"
But Mira moved faster. She darted toward him. One of the men slammed her to the ground, but she sprang back to her feet almost instantly, grabbing the boy’s leg and yanking it hard enough to send him sprawling.
Three of the other men rushed her at once, attempting to pin her down. But Mira was too fast. She twisted and leapt, flipping through the air to avoid their grasp.
As she landed, she propelled herself onto one of the remaining men, her claws plunging brutally into his neck. Blood spurted from the wound as the man collapsed, choking.
She continued her assault, her body moving with terrifying agility, darting from one target to the next. Each time she struck, her claws tore through flesh with precision. One by one, the men fell to the floor.
The room fell silent, save for the terrified gasps of the bandaged boy. He pressed himself against the door, his eyes wide with fear, trembling as Mira turned to him.
"N-no... please... I didn’t mean it... I didn’t," he stuttered, words tumbling over themselves.
But Mira was done listening. Her breath came out in furious bursts. Her eyes burned brighter than ever, wild and full of unrelenting wrath.
"You murdered my parents, and now you want to apologize?!" Mira roared.
"I was wrong! I swear I was wrong!" the boy cried. "I didn’t mean for them to die! I just wanted to scare you! It was a mistake!"
Mira stepped closer. "You humiliated me. Beat me. Threatened everything I loved. And now you beg like a coward?!"
"Please! Don’t kill me!" he sobbed, his back pressed hard against the door. "I-I’ll do anything! I’ll apologize! I’ll never come near you again!"
Mira’s eyes flared, her teeth clenched. "You wanted to see me break?! THIS is what you wanted?!"
She stepped closer, "THEN LOOK CLOSELY!"
In an instant, she launched forward. The boy didn’t even have time to scream.
Her claws ripped into his throat with brutal force. The impact drove him into the wall, his mouth gaping open in a soundless cry as blood erupted from the wound.
Mira didn’t flinch. She held him there, watching the life drain from his eyes, until he was nothing but a limp.
She yanked her hand back, her breath still heaving, her body shaking with fury.
The boy collapsed to the floor, a lifeless, bloody heap. And still, Mira stood, blazing with rage, her chest rising and falling, as if the fire inside her refused to burn out.
The room was now a graveyard, drenched in blood, with Mira standing alone amidst the carnage.
