Forced to Marry a Female Billionaire CEO-Chapter 650: Like
Xu Ke felt a jolt run through him, his whole body going numb. He grabbed Wong Qifu's hand. "Don't. Stop messing around."
His eyes darted around like a headless fly. With Wong Qifu pulling a stunt like this in public, won't I have to leave the clothing store hunched over later?
"Who's messing around? I'm being serious. Didn't you want me to wear something a little more revealing?"
Wong Qifu took the silk dress from Xu Ke, casually hung it aside, and pointed to the qipao he had just been staring at. "Why don't you take that one down?"
"No, no."
"How about that one?" Wong Qifu pointed to a V-neck camisole hanging on the wall six meters to Xu Ke's right.
"No, no."
Wong Qifu's gaze shifted to a nearby red velvet, hip-hugging dress that exuded an air of lavish luxury. "This one?"
"No, no."
Hearing her, Xu Ke realized she had noticed every single piece of clothing he'd glanced at. A powerful sense of danger washed over him, and he hurriedly said, "No, no. Just wear this one. After we buy it, we can go eat. Han Wang is still waiting for my call." He then turned, grabbed a set of loose-fitting sportswear, and stuffed it into Wong Qifu's hands.
It was a good thing this store, despite being expensive, sold all sorts of styles. Otherwise, Xu Ke really would have been at a loss.
Wong Qifu dangled the sportswear Xu Ke had handed her and teased, "This is the one? Are you sure?"
"I'm sure," Xu Ke nodded.
"You know what's good for you."
Wong Qifu snorted, then turned and headed into the fitting room with the sportswear.
Xu Ke breathed a sigh of relief and rubbed his nose. He walked over to the fitting room entrance to wait, looking down at his phone.
A moment later, he caught a glimpse of a figure in sportswear emerging from the corner of his eye.
"How does it look?"
Xu Ke instinctively stepped forward. It was only when he put his phone away and looked up that he was shocked to realize he'd mistaken her for someone else.
The person who had come out wasn't Wong Qifu, but another young woman also wearing sportswear. She froze when Xu Ke approached her, then her eyes scanned him up and down before she let out a flirtatious laugh. "Hmm? Hey handsome, can I help you with something?"
Her gaze swept over Xu Ke's clearly well-toned triceps and biceps, a nearly imperceptible spark of heat flaring in her eyes.
Hmm. Not bad!
Xu Ke, taken aback, gave a quick, embarrassed laugh. "Sorry, my mistake! Wrong person."
"Handsome, it's okay," the young woman said, assuming he was making an excuse to talk to her. "You can just say you want my WeChat. I don't mind. No need to make things up."
"No, really, I got the wrong person," Xu Ke insisted, taking two steps back. "My wife is in there."
The young woman's excited expression froze. A married man?
Then, she pursed her lips, scoffed dismissively, and turned to leave, tossing over her shoulder, "Ugh, a typical clueless guy. Just my luck. Stay away from me!"
Xu Ke stared at her retreating, swaying back, completely speechless. What is with some people?
Just then, a voice as cold as a wind from the arctic tundra sounded behind him. "What are you looking at?" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Xu Ke jolted and spun around to see Wong Qifu standing not far away, looking absolutely stunning.
Now dressed in sportswear, Wong Qifu had her waterfall of black hair tied up for a change. A lightly curled ponytail swung back and forth, revealing much of her snow-white neck. The woman who was normally so vibrant and elegant now had an added touch of sporty energy.
At the moment, however, her face was completely expressionless, and her eyes held a dangerous glint.
"Nothing. I wasn't looking at anything," Xu Ke said hastily.
"Was she pretty?" Wong Qifu asked again.
Xu Ke, a master of navigating tricky questions, replied smoothly, "You're the pretty one."
"Hmph!" Wong Qifu shot him a glare. "Was it that fun watching her wiggle away?"
"I wasn't! I just thought she was bizarre. You don't see people like that every day... Besides, you were in the fitting room. You heard our conversation, right?" Xu Ke asked tentatively.
"I heard," Wong Qifu replied, her expression sour.
The fitting rooms were small enough that Wong Qifu had naturally heard every word of the conversation outside.
She had been happily trying on the clothes, her heart filled with a sweet warmth. But when she came out and saw Xu Ke staring at the other woman's retreating back, her own joyful smile froze and then crumbled...
Her emotional reaction was instinctive; Xu Ke would have felt just as uncomfortable if he'd seen her staring at another man's back.
So, Xu Ke, naturally sensing her mood, sidled up to her with a grin. "Come on, don't be upset. Why are you so jealous? Here, let me give you a kiss to make you feel better."
"Stay away from me! Who's upset? Who's jealous?" Wong Qifu retorted, pushing him away. She scoffed, "It's not like you slept with her. Do you really think I'd get jealous over something so minor?"
"Am I such a petty person?"
Seeing her reaction, Xu Ke chuckled to himself. Why can't she just admit it?
"Fine, fine. You're not jealous, you're not upset, and you're not a petty person," Xu Ke said, feeling like he was placating a child or trying to soothe an angry kitten. He started caressing her shoulder, rubbing it gently. "And right now, I'm not trying to cheer you up. I'm just giving you a massage to help you relax."
Wong Qifu slapped his hand away and glared at him in the mirror. "Look at that blissful expression on your face... Who's really the one enjoying this?"
"I am," Xu Ke replied. Undeterred by her swat, he simply moved his hands to her slender waist, wrapping his arms around her from behind. There was no one else around, so he wasn't worried about being seen.
Wong Qifu felt a tickle and blushed. "There are security cameras! Stop touching my waist. Won't it be embarrassing if someone sees?"
"Then I'll stop touching it," Xu Ke said, pulling his hands back… only to start rubbing her shoulders again.
"What are you doing?! Didn't I tell you to stop touching me?" Wong Qifu laughed, exasperated. She couldn't stay mad anymore; his touch had melted her anger away. How can he be so shameless?
Xu Ke replied, "You just said not to touch your waist."
"Get off me! Let go."
"Okay."
"Hey, Xu Ke! What are you doing now? Stop poking my face!"
After they bought a few more outfits, Xu Ke and Wong Qifu left the store. She warned him, "From now on, no getting handsy in public places like this. Got it?"
Xu Ke, enveloped in her fragrance, replied with righteous confidence, "I wasn't getting 'handsy'. I was just touching."
Wong Qifu couldn't be bothered to argue. She grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the elevator. "Come on, hurry up. I'm starving."
"Alright!"
Xu Ke deftly reversed his grip, enveloping her hand in his. He walked beside her for a moment before letting go of her hand, only to slide his arm around her delicate waist, pulling her snugly against his side.
Xu Ke glanced down. Wong Qifu's face was so close he could see loose strands of her hair and watch her long eyelashes flutter over her exquisite eyes. Her skin was as white as snow, so flawless it seemed it might break at a touch... She was the very picture of loveliness.
Wong Qifu was startled. She had been caught completely off guard, pulled along by Xu Ke before she even had a chance to react.
She gazed at the way the mall's lights and the afternoon sun reflected off the polished tile floor. All sorts of people strolled by: couples, mothers with their children, office workers, and delivery drivers. The mall was bustling but not crowded, and soft instrumental music played quietly in the background.
As she was held in Xu Ke's embrace, she could feel the strength in his arm. It was as if he wanted to meld her into his very being, but the pressure wasn't urgent or painful. It just filled her with an inexplicable sense of contentment. Is this what it feels like to be in love?
"This is our first time shopping together, isn't it?" Xu Ke suddenly said with a smile.
Without thinking, Wong Qifu nodded, "Yes."
"Do you like it?"
"I like it!"
