Forcing Me to Be Reborn?!-Chapter 34 - 33 I’ve Got Your Back
Chapter 34: Chapter 33 I’ve Got Your Back
In the private room, Cheng Zhu and Lin Lu were extremely close.
As they both leaned down to look at the dice, he could smell the light fragrance emanating from her.
Well, it’s normal for a beautiful girl to smell nice.
A man’s scent, on the other hand, would at best be that of laundry detergent.
But he had heard that if a girl really liked sniffing your scent while dating, she probably really liked you.
After checking the dice, Cheng Zhu gently closed the shaker.
...
What surprised him was how quickly this voice actress had grown; she was already using external distractions, pretending with an amazed expression as if she had rolled extraordinary dice.
Cheng Zhu looked at her, compliantly nodding slightly and even covering her face with his hand, as if he didn’t want the others to see her expression and reveal the strength of our dice.
And to think, Lin Lu had always found dice games boring and never thought they were fun.
Yet, tonight, she found it incredibly thrilling and really good fun, putting her in a great mood.
Being with a man of Grandmaster caliber has that effect; not much else to say, it definitely boosts your spirits.
On the other side, glasses-wearing Wang Wei pushed his wooden-framed glasses up his nose, looking tense.
There was a trend back in the day for wooden-framed glasses, though their popularity had declined.
He was about to roll the dice when he heard Liu Hongjing say, “Little Cheng’s side had Lin Lu roll; we’ll have me roll this time and use my roll.”
Saying this, he pushed his shaker towards Wang Wei.
Wang Wei took it and saw triple sixes inside!
Liu Hongjing had rigged the roll.
Everybody’s attention was on the drama king Cheng Zhu and queen Lin Lu, so for a moment, nobody noticed Liu Hongjing and Wang Wei’s slight of hand.
Suddenly feeling confident with his triple sixes—essentially six 4s—Wang Wei thought arrogantly, “Ha, six fours, this’ll crush you!”
“I have triple sixes, how can I lose?” Wang Wei thought confidently, sure he’d win.
His dice were: one one one four four.
Cheng Zhu’s dice were actually decent too: one one one two three.
But the moment he closed the shaker, he was already cheating again.
He turned to Lin Lu and said, “You remembered the numbers, right? Okay, you can’t look anymore, lest your expression gives away our dice strength!”
“Okay!” Lin Lu was now utterly compliant to Cheng Zhu.
Per the rules, Wang Wei’s team had lost the last round, so they called first.
Wang Wei didn’t bother with tactics this time, simply calling out, “Three 4s!”
Cheng Zhu glanced at him and said casually, “Three 1s.”
“Damn!” Wang Wei and Liu Hongjing cursed internally.
This jerk suddenly calling 1s? Their triples were wasted!
If 1 is called, it’s no longer a wildcard. Wang Wei’s count went from six 4s to just two.
“So confident, he must have 1s. We have three, and he’s adding one!” Liu Hongjing, acting as the Think Tank, whispered to Wang Wei.
“Four 1s!” Wang Wei shouted.
“Add one,” said Cheng Zhu coolly.
Liu Hongjing analyzed again softly, “If he was bluffing from the start, he wouldn’t dare call five 1s. He must have several. Damn it, just go higher!”
“Six 1s!” Wang Wei nearly broke his voice, feeling desperate.
Lin Lu was getting nervous listening to this.
But really, shouting about six 1s in the final round was indeed thrilling.
Cheng Zhu leisurely opened his shaker, seemingly pondering which number to call, but actually manipulating his dice again.
He had changed the dice to all show 1s.
All five dice the same, that’s a pure triple—plus two, making seven 1s!
—No more human for me!
“Add one,” he said lightly.
He was deliberately playing this way, making the other guys constantly brainstorm and analyze.
As expected, Liu Hongjing and Wang Wei became instantly cautious, whispering to each other.
“No way, he’s called seven 1s.”
“Is he crazy, how can he have four 1s?”
“He’s reached the limit. Adding any more would mean eight 1s; he’d have to have all five dice showing 1s, which is impossible.”
“Open it, we have no choice!”
As the two conspired quietly, Shen Minglang had already stood up, shouting.
“Holy shit! How the hell could you call seven 1s in the final round? Were the dice just that good?”

Lin Lu’s face turned slightly pale; she knew she had only helped Cheng Zhu roll three 1s, making it unlikely for the opponents to have four 1s.
Seeing her slight expression, Cheng Zhu waved her over, signaling for her to bring her ear closer as if he had a secret to tell.
Lin Lu immediately shuffled her petite perked bottom, pressing the fabric of her skirt against the sofa, and leaned her delicate, translucent ear close to Cheng Zhu’s mouth.
“The dice were rolled by you, and you kept blowing on them, right?” he spoke in a breathy tone, making Lin Lu feel as though he was blowing air into her ear.
She shrank slightly, tickled by the sensation, feeling an electric current running through her body.
Listening to Cheng Zhu’s words, she nodded.
“Do you know why I always told you to blow on them?” Cheng Zhu continued.
Feeling the breath on her ear, Lin Lu tickled even more, causing her neck to unconsciously shrink back.
She shook her head, pulling back slightly.
“I’ll show you a magic trick,” said Cheng Zhu with a grin.
At that moment, Wang Wei stood up and shouted, “Open it! It’s reached the limit, and even if we lose, I’m convinced!”
“Little Cheng, you first. Let’s see how many 1s you really have!” Liu Hongjing, the pudgy little fellow, chimed in.
Both were quite nervous.
Cheng Zhu glanced at the eight people opposite him and said, “No need to show your dice, just drink.”
As he spoke, he opened his shaker, revealing pure triples—seven 1s!
The room erupted in exclamations, and Shen Minglang jumped up excited.
“Aaah! Killed eight with the last throw being seven 1s!” Shen Minglang felt his scalp tingle.
In his life of playing dice, he had only rolled seven 1s once!
Even Jiang Wanzhou couldn’t help but stand and take a look at the dice, filled with disbelief.
“When did Cheng Zhu get so skilled?” he wondered.
Has this bastard been secretly going out to play and honed his skills?
Lin Lu’s bright, lively eyes widened, starting to question everything she saw.
She was the only one who knew the truth.
Cheng Zhu wanted just this effect.
As everyone gasped in shock, Cheng Zhu, ignoring everyone including Shen Minglang who was approaching to pat his shoulder, only gave Lin Lu a subtle wink.
The message was clear: The magic trick worked, but this is our little secret. Keep it.
Thus, upon only their second meeting, they already shared a secret.
An indescribable feeling began to ripple through Lin Lu’s heart.
And you should know, Cheng Zhu was very cunning with his choice of words—magic.
As everyone knows, many magicians have accomplices.
You’re my only accomplice, a sign of my ultimate trust in you!
See, you were the one rolling the dice after all!
In a way, he was just bluffing at the table, cheating actually.
But that’s not how you say it; I performed a magic trick for you, which sounds rather romantic!
Suddenly, Lin Lu felt a little disheartened, her heart racing as she faced the gaze of this ‘little brother’.
A subtle atmosphere had started to stretch between the two.
However, at this moment, Liu Hongjing and Wang Wei couldn’t sit still.
“Impossible! I don’t believe he got seven 1s!”
“There must be an issue; those odds are too low!”
Both had drank a bit during dinner and were slightly tipsy.
And you should see how men usually act carefree but become ridiculously nitpicky over drinks at the table.
What’s worse, they’re the type to force others to drink while being bad drinkers themselves.
Liu Hongjing was utterly speechless; damn it, he purposefully set up a triple and still Wang Wei lost?
At that moment, Lin Lu felt like she was being questioned, since she was the last to roll the dice.
But as a witness to the “magic,” she didn’t feel confident enough to argue back.
Indeed… there definitely was an issue.
Cheng Zhu, however, couldn’t care less, just thinking about arguing with them.
He even deliberately rolled the seven 1s just awaiting their complaints.
“Little Cheng, little Cheng, been calling me that all night,” he cursed internally.
Damn it, ruining the atmosphere I was just creating with Lin Lu.
I’m going to show you who’s boss at this table today!
Cheng Zhu picked up the shaker and methodically started dropping the dice back in one by one.
As he did this, he said, “We were all watching during the game.”
*Clack,* a dice went in.
“You have doubts about my skills, fine.”
*Clack,* another dice went in.
“How about this then? Let’s drop the group game. One of you come out and face me alone, Lin Lu will still roll the dice, and we can only check them once they’re rolled, no chance to tamper then.”
“Five rounds, three wins, whoever loses, drinks half a bottle of wine.”
Holding the shaker in one hand, he gently shook it, the striking sounds clear in the quiet room.
Earlier, he had taken down eight people single-handedly, pushing his momentum ever upwards, now at its peak, his presence overwhelming!
Little trash, dare to play?
One-on-eight is a bit about luck, so I’m giving you a task; in a one-on-one, I’ll play you to death!
Understand the value of a Drink King?
Today, you’re going out of this room door sideways!
Lin Lu sat beside him, watching his sharp profile, her large eyes twinkling.
Right now, the young girl was not thinking about the cheating, because that’s how human thought patterns work: People think from their own perspective.
Since she had rolled the dice and had just been silenced by accusations, she suddenly thought:
——He’s supporting us!
“Ah, I think I might be getting a little bad,” she felt as if the little devil inside her was about to jump out.
“But, today was really, really fun!”
