Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton-Chapter 1785 - 1346 It Grabbed the Silver Coin
The Ancient Man Snake couldn’t mark Ge Castle; the star was hiding within the God Star, making it impossible to distinguish it from the Star Flame of the God Star, just like you cannot distinguish a drop of water from the ocean unless that drop is ink.
So the Ancient Man Snake announced a reward because it knew there existed a power in the Void capable of turning ordinary water into ink — it had seen it firsthand.
Shamara’s inspiration shouldn’t be overlooked, thus the reward was announced. The Divine Star Shadow received it and contacted the silver coin while Olette received it and found Lightning and Luther; however, they were all despicable middlemen offering very low bounties.
Olette even wanted to use White Crystal as a reward, which led Ange to discover its ability to detect White Crystal — these crystals were actually excavated from the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, much to Anthony’s delight, for items that can be excavated from the tree are inexhaustible.
But soon, everyone discovered that cheap goods are no good — the White Crystals excavated from the tree had prohibitions placed on them; mentioning the corresponding keywords would make them self-destruct on the spot.
Thus, White Crystal lost its ultimate value; even if given to Ange, Ange dared not transfer anyone to such White Crystal.
For survival, Olette racked its brains and finally came up with some valuable information, leading everyone to the Ancestor’s Tomb where they found the Space-Time Domain left by the Dragon God.
The whole process was intricate and changeable, making everyone forget the most crucial task — the Ancient Man Snake’s reward.
"Forget about it. The Ancient Man Snake’s reward was announced to everyone. If the silver coin can’t complete it, it won’t come down on the silver coin’s head," Negris remarked in frustration.
What it thought was something important turned out to be this trivial matter. They hadn’t accepted this reward anyway, as it was impossible to hand over Shamara’s Power of Fall; forget about it, so what?
Anthony smiled bitterly, "Although this reward was announced by the Ancient Man Snake, the middleman is actually the Divine Star Shadow Kadiz, so it’s very likely it will approach the silver coin."
Ange nodded, "Silver coin, followed by it...?"
The silver coin wasn’t captured by it, nor imprisoned. It simply followed the silver coin, occasionally emerging from the shadows to ask: When will the reward be completed? This left the silver coin unable to attend to other matters.
At this moment, the nearby Gray Divine Star suddenly asked, "What did you say it was called? Divine Star Shadow Kadiz?"
Anthony suddenly looked at the Gray Divine Star with shock and asked, "You know it? Right, it’s the Divine Star Shadow. Yet it hasn’t said which God Star’s shadow it is. Could it be your shadow?"
The Gray Divine Star, somewhat uncertain, said, "I don’t know either. But if it’s called Kadiz and is truly a Divine Star Shadow, then perhaps... this is a very ancient name."
Negris slapped its waist, suddenly realizing, "We didn’t believe it was a Divine Star Shadow because it was too weak, so weak it only dared to lurk in shadows. It made no sense. If it were your shadow, it would make sense."
The Gray Divine Star’s face showed several black lines, "What do you mean? Are you saying I’m weak?"
Negris put its hands on its hips and said, "What’s wrong with saying you’re weak? If you’re weak, we would just find a way to give you some increment of Star Flame. If you’re not weak, then we wouldn’t bother with you."
Upon hearing ’increment of Star Flame,’ the Gray Divine Star’s initially furious expression froze momentarily, slowly pulling out an upward arc, ’smiling,’ "Weak, I’m quite weak, very weak."
Negris’s tail nearly curled up in arrogance; what does a God Star matter; can’t it still be handled?
"I didn’t expect Kadiz to be your shadow, so tell me, what exactly is a Divine Star Shadow?" Anthony quickly asked.
The Gray Divine Star thought for a moment, saying, "I don’t know exactly what it is either. But before I started aging, there was always a shadow-like black spot on my surface that moved continuously, sometimes dark, sometimes light, but never disappearing."
"I once tried to find it and eliminate it but could never find its existence, as if something’s shadow was projected onto me. But the question is, what could leave a shadow on me?" the Gray Divine Star asked.
Anthony and Negris exchanged glances; the God Star itself is a gigantic light source; what could cast a shadow on it? Even the darkest shadow would be covered up by its own light; how could a shadow be cast on its surface?
Only Ursman speculated, "Yourself?"
The Gray Divine Star nodded, "That’s right, my own shadow."
"How is it possible? How could your own shadow cast on yourself? Is my shadow supposed to fall on me?" Negris exclaimed.
Ursman shrugged, "Actually, it could because you’re not a light source."
Negris immediately shut up, looking at Ursman in inquiry; such academic problems were previously something it wouldn’t accept from anyone. As the God of Knowledge, could it possibly understand things Ursman couldn’t?
But after having Ursman around, it dared not entertain such thoughts anymore. The God of Knowledge is merely the organizer of knowledge, whereas the Wise Man is the creator of knowledge. When confronted with a new, unprecedented matter, without fail, the Wise Man would summarize key points immediately, leaving Negris no choice but to submit.
Ursman moved its hand in the Void in a circular motion, explaining, "If we understand the God Star as a luminous object with countless points, each capable of emitting light, some points here, some there, and if this point emits light, its penetration through the God Star is farthest isn’t it?"
"Conversely, this point’s light penetrates the God Star to reach here, yet is closest. Their penetration through the God Star varies in strength. Combined with the uncountable points, there must be a position receiving the least Divine Light compared to others, forming a spot or, you could say, a shadow," Ursman explained.
Though complex, easily understood when explained using Ursman’s diagram, leaving everyone suddenly understanding, Negris said, "So it’s the uneven internal penetration causing spots? If that’s the case, why is there only one spot? Shouldn’t there be spots all over?"
Sunlight unevenly penetrating leaves shadows scattered on the ground. If it’s uneven, there should be spots everywhere. Why only one Divine Star Shadow?
Ursman said, "This involves an unverified Void hypothesis. Since it hasn’t been verified, it couldn’t be considered as evidence, and therefore, I’m uncertain why there’s only one." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Everyone looked at the Gray Divine Star, Anthony asked, "Is that so?"
The Gray Divine Star, with a face marked with humor and helplessness, said, "How would I know what’s it like? I only know that when I began aging, one day, a voice told me it’s called Kadiz and is the shadow of the God Star, saying it’s time to part and it was leaving to find new Starfire, wishing me renewal. Then the spot disappeared."
"Uh, so throughout, you never felt its existence, only acknowledged it when it said goodbye to you, knowing of such a being?" Negris asked in shock.
Though the Gray Divine Star couldn’t blush, everyone could sense it ’blushing.’
But everyone had no time to dwell on it anymore; Ange suddenly collected everyone and announced, "It captured the silver coin."
