Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 253: Taste the broth
Aaron’s POV:
"You did what?" my father shouted out and turned to me. "Did you really send our men to fight with the Anti-Angel?"
I stammered and said, "Not at all! I had sent my men to scare the Dawn. I never expected that Silver Shadow would come to the spot to rescue her."
My father’s purple eyes turned red slightly as he got furious. "You are an idiot," he shouted out. "Why would you even want to attack the Dawn? What did she even do to you?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Because she is Lilin’s target, and I wanted to make her quest easy, so I sent my men to destroy her—"
I wasn’t able to keep on staring at my father’s scarlet eyes. He seldom gets furious like this. The last time when he was this mad at me was when I stayed in the mortal realm for too long and partied with the pretty mortal girls.
"Do you even understand the seriousness of your mistake," he continued yelling at me. "What am I going to tell the family of the deceased?! And you made Anakin lose a hand?"
I didn’t know what to reply to him. Next to him, the Demon Queen was frowning at me too. I felt so helpless, like a little rat trapped in the cage of a panther.
"And because of you, my daughter is in danger too," the Demon Queen yelled when my father got quiet.
"But I didn’t do it on purpose," I said while I had my eyes on my father. Then I glanced at Lilin and said, "I love your daughter so much, and I will never do anything to hurt her—"
Both of them didn’t seem to be forgiving me. After a while, my father cooled down, and he turned to the Queen. "I am apologizing to you on behalf of my son. Can you please forgive him?"
The Demon Queen smiled. "Even if I forgive your son, the Silver Shadow might not do the same. So try to save your son from him. I just came here to warn you. And if you find the whereabouts of my daughter, send me a raven about it—"
After saying that, she disintegrated from the spot as black fumes. Now my father’s full attention was on me. I wished that Anakin was here with me; his attention would have been directed towards him too!
"So you did all of this for that girl Lilin?"
I didn’t dare to give him a reply. Instead, I stood still like a log and blinked at him.
"Now tell me, Aaron! Who even gave you such an idea?"
I hesitated as I didn’t want to rat out Lyra. But how did he even sense that it wasn’t my idea?!
"I am so ashamed of you! I thought that you were grown up enough to act mature—but I was wrong."
"I am... sorry, father...."
"Shut up, Aaron," he roared. "You are the Prince of Ashland! You are supposed to protect the people of our Kingdom—not endanger them."
"But father....."
"How are we going to save our people now?" he shouted at the top of his voice. "We Incubus don’t even know how to hold a weapon. We all will be destroyed if that Anti-Angel gets here—"
"But there must be a way to fix this-"
He grunted and said, "Yes, there is one way for that. I am banishing you from Ashland!"
I wasn’t able to believe my ears. Did he just say that he is banishing me from my land?
"But father, I am the Prince of this land. You can’t banish me from here—"
"Yes, I can! What you did is worse than treason. If I don’t reprimand you, then I would not be doing any justice to my people! So now get out of this castle now. If I spot you anywhere in the land, then your punishment would be even more severe."
"But father, where can I go if you throw me away from my home?"
He pulled up the sleeves of his grey robes and turned away from me without giving me a reply.
"Please answer me, father! I unknowingly made that mistake, and I deserve a second chance—"
"No, you don’t! So get out of here before I tell the warlock guards to drag you away from here!"
"Fine, I am leaving," I shouted in agony. "But tell me, who is going to rule this realm after you? I am the rightful heir to the throne."
"You might be the rightful heir, but you are not fit to rule a kingdom peacefully. I am pretty sure that you will eradicate everyone in the realm if you become the King."
I have never been this much hurt in my life. This hurt feels worse than the time when Lilin broke up with me. I decided to leave the castle as the feeling of hurt started to overwhelm me.

I went to Lyra’s cottage to check on my brother before I left the land. I was completely dazed. Where should I go after this?
Anakin was in a better condition now. His right arm had stopped bleeding. It looks like Lyra had done a good job in treating him!
I sat beside his bed and smiled at my baby brother. "Anakin, listen to me! Our Father has banished me from Ashland. So I am obligated to leave this land soon."
"What?" he gasped and sat up straight. "Father banished you? But he can’t do that! You are going to be crowned very soon!"
"Not anymore," I sighed out. "Father said that I am not fit for the crown."
Anakin shook his head and said, "But you can’t just leave this land! This is so unfair."
"Again, brother! Our father made this decision, and I am obligated to follow it."
He fell silent after that. After a while, he said, "But where are you gonna go?"
"I didn’t know," I said and got up from the bed. "Next, you are in the line for the crown. So take care of our father and everyone else in our land. I am leaving now—"
"But brother....." his eyes welled up.
I just gave him a smile and walked out of the room. He will be fine! Father would make him the King, and he is going to live my dream—while I will be in a strange and unknown land.
I went to the kitchen, where the green-haired Serpent girl was cooking meat. I didn’t know if it was Leah or Lyra. But judging by her calm attitude, I assume that she is Leah. Lyra is like fire mixed up with venom!
"Leah, thank you for taking care of my brother. I am leaving this land soon, and I hope that you continue looking after him."
She frowned at me and said, "Do I look like Leah to you? I am Lyra, you fool!"
I was shocked and scared at the same time. Can Lyra cook too?
"Of course, I can," she said after she read my thought. Then she took a spoon of broth from the pot and came near me. "Taste this! You will get to know how much of a master cook I am—"
I refused to taste the broth, but she moved the spoon closer to my lips and forced me to do so. What if there is the venom of Serpent in it? Then I would be dead after sipping it!
"Oh, come on, Incubus! You have already lost everything. You have no land, no place to stay, and nowhere to go. Still, you are afraid of tasting my broth?"
"Yes, I am," I cried out. " Even though I have nothing now, at least I am alive. You can’t force me to die!"
"Just taste it, Incubus! I made the same broth like this to your brother a while ago, and he is still alive."
Perhaps nothing will happen to me! And this broth smells good. I am pretty sure that it tastes good too! Still, I can’t take any chances. How can someone trust the venomous girl?
After a while, she stuffed the spoon inside my mouth and forced me to taste it. It did taste good!
"I like this," I said while smacking my lips to sip in the flavor.
"You can’t possibly hate this," she smiled at me. "And do you want to know what my secret ingredient is?"
"Yes, what is it," I asked her eagerly.
"I will tell you after you eat a bowl of this."
"Sure," I smiled back at her. Lyra seems like a nice girl to me! Perhaps she is not as evil as everyone in the land says her to be. She did help my brother in recovery!
Lyra gave me the broth in a porcelain bowl. The bowl was hot to touch; still, my hunger made me sip down the entire bowl in a second.
"You are a master cook," I appreciated her.
She kept on smiling at me. Soon I dropped the empty bowl on the floor as my head started to spin. What is happening to me?
