Chapter 307: War is tomorrow

Cynthia got scared to her bones after she read the message that she got from the firebird. It was written by Oberon himself. And the message said that Oberon and his army are going to attack the island tomorrow after sunrise. The Siren Queen felt like she was about to faint on the floor below her. If they get attacked tomorrow, then they will all be dead for sure.

Cynthia barged into Theo’s room even though she was aware that he was with Celestia. She could care less about giving privacy to her son when the destruction era had arrived. And to her relief, Theo and Celestia were not engaged in any intimate activity. Celestia was entirely dressed and she was combing her hair in front of the mirror. But Theo was lying half-naked on the bed with only a blanket that was hiding his lower half. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Celestia stiffened when she saw the reflection of the Siren Queen in the mirror. She turned to Cynthia and blurted, "My Queen... never expected your presence here..." Then her gaze went to Theo who was lying half-naked on the bed like a drunken man. Cynthia got irritated when Celestia thought that she should cover up his body entirely with the blanket.

"Oh, come on Fae girl. I raised that boy! I have seen him naked even before you," the Siren Queen yelled at her and fell silent. She wanted to know what happened to her son that made him so tired that he didn’t wake up even after the sun rose. She went into Celestia’s mind and saw everything that happened the night before. She skipped the intimate scene and saw the part where Celestia bit Theo in the neck. What? She bit him?! Is Theo alright?! She shivered.

She was about to yell at Celestia but after seeing that he was alright and that she got fired for being Half-Vampire, she kept quiet. After seeing the scenes, she ran to her son and checked his pulse. He seemed alright, but she sensed tiredness in his body. Perhaps it was because he lost blood!

"This is great," Cynthia sighed and looked at Celestia who was clutching the comb in her hand. "There is a war tomorrow and you have to drink my son’s blood at this moment and weaken him?!"

Celestia gasped. "There is a war tomorrow?! But I had no idea about it—"

Cynthia didn’t even have the time to yell at her now. Instead of that, she should focus on saving her Siren girls from the danger that is about to arrive. Her main source of hope was that Theo and Celestia will stand in the frontlines and defend them all. But Celestia has still not gotten her powers back and Theo has lost his blood and become weak. Without them, they will definitely lose the war!

"Well, I guess that I should evacuate the people on this island to somewhere else. Running away from the war is better than battling to the death," she sighed and walked away from the bed.

Theo finally woke up from his sleep and blurted, "War?! What war?" Slowly he got up and blinked at Cynthia who was frowning at him.

"You had one job to do, Theo," she shouted at him. "Your one job was to mate with her and enhance her powers and yours too! Instead, you let her suck your blood and weaken yourself?!"

Theo got down from the bed and tied up the long blanket below his waist. He gave Cynthia a determined look as if he regretted nothing that happened. "Cynthia, she was thirsty and my blood was the antidote for her curse. Without drinking my blood she could have never cured—"

"No, that is not true," Cynthia shouted back. "If you had mated with her and gave her powers to her, then her powers would have automatically taken off the curse. There was no need for you to give your blood to her—"

Theo shook his head and sighed. "Well, there is no use in knowing that now. And this was meant to happen anyway. You know that blood lust can’t be controlled."

Theo then turned to Celestia who was feeling guilty for drinking his blood and weakening him. He gave her an assuring nod as if saying that what she did is not wrong and that they can get past that. Yet, Celestia felt guilty to her core. ’If only I had not clawed his neck with my nails! That’s why I got blood lust immediately after tasting a drop of his blood,’ she cursed herself.

"Fine," Theo said and looked at Cynthia. "It would be better for us to focus on the future now. Unfortunately, the past can’t be changed."

Cynthia nodded even though she wasn’t convinced. She was still mad at Celestia. But she can’t show her rage at Celestia! Not in the presence of Theo! She swallowed her frustration and asked her son, "What plan do you have now?"

"Well, you send a message to the Demon Queen and tell her to send her army here tonight. Will she listen to you?"

"Yes, she will! She is my friend," Cynthia beamed.

"That’s good! Since the Demon army arrives here tonight, they will be able to hold back the Fae army until Celestia and I get back here," Theo said and turned to me again. "Celestia and I will go to a special place and return to the war as soon she gets her powers back—"

Cynthia was a little convinced by her son’s explanation. But she was scared about Celestia failing this time. She should get her powers soon or else they will all die. For heaven’s sake, Oberon is a Shadow Lord now! Even the Demonic army will have a tough time defending themselves from Oberon.

"What if you two fail again?" Cynthia raised a question to her son.

Theo grunted and said, "Please don’t start again, Cynthia! You better focus on defending the island—"

"Well, I hope that you both return soon," Cynthia gave a cold glare to Celestia before she left the room.

The Siren Queen didn’t trust Celestia, but she had faith in her son that he will succeed in everything when is determined. With that hope, she started to prepare everything that was needed for the war.
