Chapter 43: 43:The Younger Generation Of Weiss

He named the 8th child Joel who was a boy and handed it to Jess who was curious about her son.

Both the mother and son grappled with one another heartily.

Time flows like water.

In the blink of an eye, another two months have passed.

For various reasons, the four women in Roland have not gotten pregnant during this time.

There are no pregnant women in the house.

Roland has even more free time now.

Every day, he educates the children.

Occasionally, he goes out for picnics and hunting with his wife and lover.

Life is quite comfortable.

....

On such a fine day...

The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting long shadows over the training grounds as Nil Weiss took charge of the rigorous exercise.

With a wide grin stretching across his face, he watched his younger siblings, Noah and Nora, sprinting around the field. Their breath came in ragged gasps, and their faces glistened with sweat.

Though he maintained a stern face,he was jolting inwardly.

’Good..Good..You were laughing at me...Hehe..Now look who is laughing at you."

Noah and Nora looked at their older brother with a pleading look but Nil just ignored them.

Hilda, the fourth child, stood with a proud, lofty expression, clearly pleased with the training regime.

She was really an oddball masochist that even Nil found it hard to deal with but seeing others suffering the same fate as he suffered from Roland, satisfaction welled in his heart.

Roland, seated comfortably under the shade of a large tree, savored the tranquility of the evening. His four women, Leila, Priya, Janet, and Jess, sat nearby, attending to the needs of the other children.

While others were talking jovially, Jess seemed to be meditating.

The air was filled with the soft clapping of the younger ones, who cheered on their older siblings with innocent enthusiasm.

In the midst of the field, Nora and Noah, tired and disheartened, cried out in protest. "This is too hard, Brother Nil! Please, give us a break!" Their pleas echoed through the training grounds.

Hilda, on the other hand, was unyielding. Her voice cut through the air with sharp conviction. "Stop being a crybaby! Look at Father—he’s tough and strong. You’re a disgrace acting like this!"

Determined to prove her point, Hilda unsheathed a sword and approached Nil with a fiery glint in her eyes. "Brother, show me that you deserve to be the oldest by defeating me. Only someone who can defeat Father can be a true warrior!"

Nil, who was enjoying the show, froze.

’’What the hell? Why did the sword suddenly point at me?’

Roland’s lips twitched in amusement as he observed the unfolding drama. He couldn’t help but think about the toughness his daughter had inherited. "Who taught her to be so fierce?" he mused aloud.

"It’s you!" Janet, Priya, and Leila chimed in unison, their voices filled with a mix of admiration and exasperation. Jess, still giggling at the spectacle, nodded in agreement before returning to her meditation.

Nil, now facing Hilda with a smile of challenge, prepared himself for the match. "Very well, Hilda. I’ll show you just what it means to be the eldest."

The siblings’ playful combat began under the watchful eyes of their family, each moving a testament to the skills and training they had received. The setting sun painted the scene with hues of gold and orange, marking yet another memorable evening in their lives.

The fight between Hilda and Nill escalated a bit and sighing Roland stepped up to pull them down.

’The young generation of Weiss are so bothersome!’

"Oh God!I wonder what will happen after a hundred years."

........

Three days later...

The evening light filtered through the large windows of Roland’s office, casting a soft glow over the rich wooden furniture and the neatly arranged documents. Roan stood before Roland’s desk, a serious expression etched on his face as he delivered his report.

"After sending the request to the Merchants’ Guild, who have contacts with one of the Empires, they responded that they can supply minor aptitude upgrade potions, health potions, as well as qi and battle force boosting potions," Roan said hurriedly however his expression wasn’t bright.

"That’s great news, but why do you look so glum?" Roland asked, noticing the solemnity in Roan’s demeanor.

Roan sighed deeply before replying. "It’s because it’s too expensive. The total cost amounts to almost half a million gold coins."

Roland’s eyes widened in shock, and an expression of disbelief crossed his face. "Half a million gold coins? Who the fuck are they kidding!"

"Half a million, even the Kingdom treasury might not hold this much."

"Indeed," Roan confirmed, his frustration palpable. "They’ve increased the cost by nearly three times, if not more, since we don’t have established links. They also mentioned that the potions are becoming rare due to ongoing wars."

A look of anger and disappointment flashed across Roland’s face. He clenched his jaw, the strain of the situation evident. "Those bastards are exploiting the situation. I need those potions for my wife. If she doesn’t advance to the 1st rank soon, her condition could worsen, and once they reach a certain age, these potions won’t be effective."

Roland rubbed his forehead, deep in thought, as Roan grimaced, understanding the gravity of the situation. The room was filled with a heavy silence as Roland considered their options.

After a moment, Roland straightened, his expression resolute. "We need to negotiate. Try offering them exclusive rights to sell our qi crystals and black rock at a 30% discount, and include our signature wines and crafts. We can establish a long-term relationship with them, and that should encourage them to lower the potion prices."

Roan nodded, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "I’ll handle it and ensure we’re not seen as panicked or desperate. I’ll also explore other procurement channels to see if we can find more favorable terms."

"Good," Roland said, his tone firm. "We need to keep our options open and maintain our position. Let’s ensure we secure what we need without compromising our interests."

With a final nod, Roan left the office, determined to tackle the challenge ahead

Roland returned to his desk, his thoughts focused on the well-being of his family and the complex negotiations that lay before them..

On the very next day.

In the morning.

After dealing with matters on his estate, Roland was preparing to go hunting in the forest.

That’s when Purple Hyacinth Adventure Team suddenly came to visit.

"Lord Roland, long time no see!"

Freya greeted Roland with a bright smile on her pretty face. Her eyes were filled with uncontrollable joy and excitement.

As if she had seen her long-lost lover.

"Freya, why do you have time to come and see me today?"

Seeing Freya and the others at his door, Roland warmly welcomed them with a smile.

Since the fierce battle against the Flaming Tiger several years ago, he had fought side by side with the Purple Hyacinth Adventure Team and formed a bond.

They had kept in touch ever since. After several years, they had become quite familiar with each other.

Calling them friends was completely appropriate.

It’s just that Freya and the others often need to go out on missions, so they rarely come to visit.
