Chapter 281: Proposal ?

Dayo stared at Min-Jae for a moment, genuinely unsure of how to respond.

The words "I want to marry Yeobo" were still hanging in the air, heavy and unexpected.

He blinked once, then let out a short laugh—not because it was funny, but because his brain needed time to catch up.

"Wait," Dayo said slowly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Since when?"

Min-Jae chuckled, clearly amused by Dayo’s reaction. "That’s your response?"

Dayo shook his head, eyes widening slightly as reality settled in. "Bro... that’s huge. That’s not something you just casually drop on someone."

He paused, then added honestly, "I’m surprised. Really surprised."

Min-Jae nodded, not offended in the slightest. He had expected this reaction.

"I know," he said calmly. "Most people react like that."

Dayo leaned against his car, folding his arms. "How old are you again?"

"Twenty-two," Min-Jae replied. After a brief pause, he added, "Almost twenty-three."

Dayo whistled quietly. "Man... that’s early."

"I figured you’d say that."

"It is early," Dayo continued, not trying to discourage him but thinking out loud. "You’re a musician. You’re rising fast. Fans, schedules, pressure... you know how this industry is. Female fans especially—they don’t take news like that lightly."

Min-Jae laughed again, this time softer. "I know all of that."

"Then?" Dayo asked. "You’re sure?"

Dayo asked becasue even of Min-Jae was the CEO of his branch in Asian he made sure that he released at least two album himself the reason was simple.

He and Min-Jae loved being artist to sing and if Min-Jae does this although it wouldn’t affect but his appeal in Korea would reduce a bit so he was a bit worried.

Min-Jae’s expression shifted—not dramatically, but enough for Dayo to notice. His smile became steadier, more grounded.

"I’ve thought about it for a long time," Min-Jae said. "This isn’t impulse. Yeobo’s been with me since before anything mattered. Before music mattered. Before fame mattered."

Dayo stayed silent, listening.

"You know my story," Min-Jae continued. "My parents... the accident. Everything after that. I was a mess. I didn’t even know what I wanted to do with my life."

Dayo nodded. He remembered.

"She stayed," Min-Jae said simply. "Through everything. We didn’t even start out as lovers. We were friends. Family, almost. We lived like cousins, like best friends. It was never rushed."

He looked Dayo straight in the eye. "At some point, I realized... why am I waiting? What exactly am I waiting for?"

Dayo exhaled slowly.

"...That’s solid," he admitted. "Really solid."

Min-Jae smiled. "So you don’t think I’m crazy?"

"No," Dayo said immediately. "I think you’re serious. And that matters more than timing."

There was a brief pause before Min-Jae spoke again.

"So... thank you."

"For what?"

"For listening instead of shutting me down."

Dayo smirked. "Don’t thank me yet. You didn’t call me here just to talk."

Min-Jae laughed. "You caught that."

"So," Dayo said, straightening. "What do you need me for?"

Min-Jae rubbed his palms together. "I’m planning something for tonight. I already bought food, decorations, everything. I’ve called a few close friends too. I want it to be... special."

Dayo raised an eyebrow. "A proposal."

"Yeah."

"And?"

"And I want a song," Min-Jae said casually.

Dayo scoffed. "You say that like it’s nothing."

Min-Jae grinned. "Come on. You’re the best artist I know."

"Stop it."

"I’m serious."

Dayo shook his head, half-amused, half-flattered. "This guy you’re taking advantage of me."

Lol I have seen your entire catalog. Seven... eight albums. is what yoi gave me and this is just last year not counting the remaing three years and not to talk of the two you gave me and all of them were hits," Min-Jae shot back. "Every time you drop something, charts move. It’s always a big deal so one more wouldn’t hurt."

He wasn’t exaggerating. Dayo knew it—and Min-Jae knew that Dayo knew it.

This was the same man who had casually suggested the concept that led to the formation of BTS in this world—a group that now stood as one of the most dominant Korean acts globally. Dayo’s fingerprints were on movements, not just songs.

"Fine," Dayo said after a moment. "I’ll help."

Min-Jae’s eyes lit up. "Really?"

"Yeah," Dayo said. "I’ll help you speak like I ever said no to you."

They both laughed.

They drove together to Min-Jae’s place, where a few close friends were already gathered. Laughter filled the living room as final preparations were made. Everything was simple but thoughtful warm lighting, neatly arranged food, music playing softly in the background.

When Yeobo arrived, she was confused at first.

"Why is everyone here?" she asked, looking around.

Before she could process anything else, people stepped aside.

Min-Jae was already kneeling.

The room went silent.

Yeobo froze, her hands flying to her mouth as realization hit. Her eyes widened, then shimmered.

"Will you marry me?" Min-Jae asked.

For a moment, she couldn’t speak.

Her face flushed red, emotions rushing in all at once. Tears gathered as she nodded rapidly.

"Yes," she said, voice trembling. "Yes."

Cheers erupted instantly. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Dayo picked up his guitar without saying a word. He sat down, adjusted the strings, and began to play.

He sang "Every Day, Every Moment" by Paul Kim, a widely loved Korean love song.

He sang the song in Korea and it was flowing like river.

"Every day, every moment

I find myself thinking of you

Even when time feels heavy

My heart still chooses you..."

The room fell quiet again, this time in awe.

When the song ended, applause filled the space once more.

After things settled, Dayo pulled Min-Jae aside.

"There’s something else," Dayo said.

Min-Jae tilted his head. "What is it?"

"I’ll need your help soon," Dayo replied. "For a promotion using the label.

Min-Jae laughed. "Bro, you own the label. You don’t need permission."

"I know," Dayo said. "But this is different."

He leaned closer and whispered his idea.

Min-Jae’s eyes widened. "That’s... big."

"Exactly."

"That’s not normal promotion," Min-Jae said. "That’s a movement."

Dayo smiled faintly. "That’s the point."

Min-Jae shook his head in disbelief. "Man... that explains a lot. You’ve been cooking something serious."

"Just be ready," Dayo said. "When I call, I’ll need everyone."

Min-Jae grinned. "You know they’ll show up."

Dayo nodded. "Good."

As the night wound down, Dayo stepped outside briefly, breathing in the cool air.

Another Chapter of life—both personal and professional—was quietly taking shape.

And once again, everything was moving exactly the way it needed to.
