From a Talentless nobody to An SSS Class Dragon-Chapter 197: Mom

I open up the door before running down the hall and down the steps to see why she was shouting for me for once. As soon as I reach the bottom of the steps I can see Minami standing with her.

"Yeah?" I question.

"You haven’t been attending school. What is the reasoning for that?" She asks while tilting her head.

Is this thing malfunctioning? She literally has seen me working in that shop for years now and has even accompanied me to the junkyard.

This doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense either now. What is going on all of a sudden?

"I haven’t gone to school in years. Why would it matter now?" I question with some confusion in my voice.

She stood there silently for a few moments before I could see her mouth beginning to move again. "I apologize. It must’ve been a weird error in my processing." Mom answers before heading back into the kitchen.

"I don’t know what’s gotten into her lately but she’s been acting weird." Minami says after Mom is out of the room.

"We’ll definitely have to get her checked or maybe the guy can come here to see what’s going on." I respond while looking towards the kitchen.

"Yeah. Well, you can get back to what you were doing Rokuro. I’m going to finish up some stuff of my own." Minami says with a smile.

I give her a smile back before heading towards the garage. I couldn’t shake the weird feeling I have all of a sudden from these strange events.

After entering the garage I could see that Moe was already powered on and looking around for parts. He was doing his job as he should.

Minami’s robot still needs to be perfect. So I got to work fine tuning what was left for the robot so that I could give it to her.

Hours just seem to fly by when I’m in here, almost like everything is moving 10x faster. Looking at the clock, it was 2:00 PM which meant I already spent half the day.

I think the robot is done now though. Minami will definitely be happy with this thing and honestly I’m glad I could make her one. It shows how much I’ve improved with my craft over the years.

Moe also played a big part in this since I could copy my programming from him, that alone took most of the work off of me.

"It seems the new one is done." Moe speaks up, just loud enough for me to hear.

"It seems so. Thank you for your help Moe." I respond with an appreciative tone.

He just seems to be giving me a smile and a thumbs up so that’ll do. I grab the other robot and make my way out of the garage, keeping an eye out for Minami.

I didn’t really know where to find her half the time since she’s been doing a lot more. At least that’s how it has been since we got Mom back in our lives.

"Hello sweetie, are you looking for something?" Mom asks while cleaning the living room.

"Minami." I answer.

"She’s up in her room. Why don’t we spend time together?" She asks while standing there, staring back at me.

"I...I just never thought about that." I answer nervously.

She’s never talked this much over the years so I don’t understand why she is now. Something isn’t really making a lot of sense here and I can’t figure out what it is just yet.

Is there a glitch within her system that we weren’t aware of or did she have a completely different issue occur?

She was made based off of our mother and some stuff was given to her memory wise but I don’t think there’s a whole lot else. This situation needs to be dealt with.

"We should hangout. Minami will be down in a little while." Mom says with a happy tone.

"We can hangout, just let me give her something first." I reply before backing up towards the steps.

"Sure. Sure. Just don’t take too long." Mom says before resuming cleaning.

Quickly I turn around and run up the steps towards Minami’s room. I turn the handle to open the door but then she opens in it up before me. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Oh, Rokuro. I didn’t expect you to come up to see me." Minami says with a bit of a smile.

"I brought you something. You said you wanted one of the little robots so I made you one." I respond while presenting the little robot to her.

I look up at her to see tears streaming down her face as her smile just seems to grow a bit bigger. She was definitely happy about this, that much was clear.

Immediately she hugs me for a few moments and I could feel that warmth once again. It has been quite some time since I’ve felt anything like it.

I guess we did grow apart over the recent years because of everything I was doing in the garage. I really did miss this feeling and I don’t know why it took so long for me to get it again.

It would probably be better for me to be a bit more present in her life too since she has done a lot for me over the years. She’s the best.

"Thank you Roku. I have missed you... You don’t come out of the garage to see your sister much." Minami says with a genuine, yet sad tone.

"I’ll try my best to see you more, but we do need to figure out this whole situation with mom..." I reply while looking down the hall.

Step. Step. Step. The only other person who could be coming towards us in this house is her. There is seriously something wrong with her system.

"Let’s go in your room for now." I quickly say before pushing her into the room.

I shut the door and lock it without any hesitation.

I have a weird feeling about the whole situation here now... Everything is changing.
