From Imp to Demon God: Conquering the Demon World With a Succubus-Chapter 75: Myles’ Secrets
The next day, Myles was left unconscious again. Not only did he plan it because he wanted for the Guardian of Scarlet Bond to come, he also needed to feed his demonic core to ascend to another rank.
The higher the rank, the higher the demands of demonic energy in order to rank up.
Hence, Myles would continue to take advantage of the benefits as long as he could. The others were already used to the bizarre events anyway.
While he was unconscious and the Guardian of Scarlet Bond finished healing their souls, the Commander of the Blood Knights as usual bowed in front of her.
She was about to turn around and leave, not planning to wait for his words of gratitude when the Commander of the Blood Knights’ words caught her by surprise.
"Guardian of Scarlet Bond, the first knight cadet asked me if he could do him a favor for you."
The Guardian of Scarlet Bond fanned herself and asked, "What is it?"
"He asked if you could give him a demonic art of your race."
The Guardian of Scarlet Bond was taken by surprise. She exploded into a hoot of laughter, catching the other velvet knights’ attention.
She thought. This guy is really crazy. Not only did he coveted the demonic arts of the incubus race, he also desired ours? What is he thinking? He’s really a mystery.
The Guardian of Scarlet Bond was silent for a while, causing the Commander to be surprised by her reactions.
He thought. I thought she would react violently. Why is she being silent? Is she trying to restrain her anger, perhaps?
As much as he wanted to raise his head to see her reaction, he could only close her eyes, waiting for her response anxiously.
Finally, the Guardian of Scarlet Bond said, "Did he tell you when he needed it?"
The Commander was surprised but he quickly responded, "He did not."
The Guardian of Scarlet Bond nodded and replied, "Tell him that I will bring it to him tomorrow. I still have a class to attend to."
She already informed the headmaster of the reason why she would leave the class for minutes before returning. The headmaster already allowed him to continue taking care of the Blood Knights.
Although she noticed that the headmaster was intrigued, it did not suffice for him to personally observe what was happening.
For some reason, she heaved a sigh of relief. After all, everyday, the strange phenomenon occurring in the arena gave her a chance to cultivate faster than others.
If Myles kept it up for the next year, she would certainly ascend in the Greater Demon Rank 2.
Since Myles was asking for a favor, she didn’t mind rewarding him.
Once she left, the Commander of the Blood Knights was left stunned by her reaction. She didn’t react violently, she even instructed him about telling Myles that it would only be possible by tomorrow.
He glanced at Myles and thought. Just who is he?
...
Once Myles woke up and the Commander informed him about the Guardian of Scarlet Bond’s response, he smiled.
He thanked the Commander before returning to the dormitory.
For the past two weeks, he improved his mastery of his shadow manipulation by meditating as he continued to amplify his connections with the shadow around him. He also manipulated them through his demonic energy control, experimenting with them non-stop.
Tonight, it was finally a thirtyfourth knight sergeant of the Veil Stalker, who would stalk him. Everyday, ever since the Veil Stalker rotated, with the first being the lowest rank of the first-years, it was getting difficult to detect them.
The current Veil Stalker was a Greater Demon Rank 5. The rest of the Veil Stalker until their captain was on the same rank.
Interestingly, only Myles reached the Greater Demon Rank 5 among the first-years. Most of them were at the Common Demon Rank 1.
However, ever since Myles’ potential was discovered, they instantly believed he had reached his limits by a stroke of luck, surpassing others for the meantime.
Still, the other knights wanted to know Myles’ secrets. Having a potential so low yet he reached Greater Demon Rank 5 earlier than them was something they coveted.
Hence, the current Veil Stalker infiltrated the room of the Blood Knights by gathering intelligence particularly on Myles. The past Veil Stalkers failed to gather intelligence, focusing only on other first-years, which caught the attention of other Veil Stalkers.
The senior Veil Stalkers were currently engaged in a bet as to who could discover Myles’ secret to reaching a rank faster than them.
The bet was also the main reason why the Veil Stalker infiltrated the Blood Knight’s room before the other Blood Knights could return.
They have also learned that Myles was the first Blood Knight to return to his room. They speculated the chances of discovering his secret was higher when he was alone.
The Veil Stalker was watching when Myles arrived on his bed. He clung at the corner of the wall, exactly at the spot above Myles’ bed.
He watched while hiding his presence as possible as he could, almost causing Myles to nearly miss his presence.
If it was not because the distance between them was closer, causing the shadow near him to be more sensitive, he wouldn’t have noticed him at all.
Despite that, Myles didn’t hesitate to take out his mantle, causing the Veil Stalker to be taken aback.
He’s not a Blood Knight? But... How?!
He had so many questions popping up in his head. His heart skipped a beat as he gazed at Myles’ appearance.
Half-Imp... Half-Incubus. He has an incubus bloodline. But, even then, his potential shouldn’t suffice for him to reach the Greater Demon Rank 5 early. He’s a hybrid, after all. His other race was just a lesser rank!
As Myles leaned on his bed and was whistling peacefully, the Veil Stalker was watching him with tense anticipation.
He believed he was about to discover his secret.
As expected, Myles did not disappoint him.
Myles mumbled, "Your eyes will bulge out from their pocket and inevitably fall out if you stare at me like that."
The Veil Stalker’s heart skipped a beat once again.
His mind turned blank.
There’s no one else beside me, though.
Even then, he was confident Myles was not talking to him, but perhaps, to an unknown entity.
Yet, his confidence was shattered when he was suddenly bound by shadow threads...
