From Villain to Cherished: Counter My Role by Pampering Kids-Chapter 38 Little Su Yan
Chapter 38: Chapter 38 Little Su Yan
Director Chen: "Hmm."
Huang Yiliu: "He’ll find his state and do well today."
Director Chen: "No need, we’ve already found someone to replace him in our crew. Your child doesn’t need to come anymore."
"What?" Huang Yiliu was in disbelief.
"Director Chen, are you mistaken? My child was just absent for one day, and you replaced him? We’ve signed a contract!"
Director Chen sneered: "What else? Yesterday the male lead was already here, but your child didn’t show up. We couldn’t provide anyone. Do you want the investors to pull out?"
Huang Yiliu was rendered speechless.
She knew most of the investment in this drama came from the male lead’s side, and she hadn’t anticipated that the male lead would show up on the day Su Yan fell ill.
After hanging up the phone, she was furious.
At this time, Aunt Fang brought Su Yan back.
Huang Yiliu, enraged, grabbed his clothes and pulled him over.
"Look at what you’ve done!"
Little Su Yan had a tuft of unruly hair on top of his head, his little face looked naïve and cute, yet there was a hint of coldness unbecoming of his age.
He glanced up at Huang Yiliu without speaking.
Seeing his stubborn look, Huang Yiliu became even angrier: "You did it on purpose, didn’t you?"
She grabbed his ear, causing Little Su Yan to grimace in pain.
Meng Shan quickly came out: "Huang Yiliu, calm down."
"What’s wrong with pulling him a few times? He deliberately got sick yesterday to avoid going to the crew, and now, he’s lost the role I managed to secure for him."
Upon hearing this, Meng Shan frowned.
He looked at the unlikable little boy in front of him, deeply regretting having bought him home.
Since they brought him home, over the past three months, he had caused them no end of trouble.
Initially, they liked the boy’s clever appearance, thinking it was neat that they didn’t have to worry about his living habits like bathing and eating; they even tried to bond with him, encouraging him to call them mom and dad.
But the drawbacks quickly emerged. Not only did he refuse to call them, but he also acted indifferent when they asked him to do something.
Since neither of them could have children, they originally wanted to buy a smart, obedient child who could earn money in the future and support them in their old age.
On his first day home, they sent him to the best aristocratic kindergarten in Beijing, but within days he was expelled for frequently defying the teachers.
They hired the best piano teacher for him, but he had no artistic talent and only managed to annoy the teacher into leaving.
When they took him to attend a banquet, he acted foolishly, embarrassing them to the point they dared not take him out again.
Finally, they attempted to develop him as a child star, but he refused to go to the crew by feigning illness.
This child was nothing but trouble; they wanted a smart and well-behaved kid, not a disobedient one resembling a fool.
Over the past three months, his constant troublemaking had made them incredibly anxious; raising a child was more exhausting than acting themselves.
"Meng Shan, I’ve had enough of him! You better get rid of him immediately!"
Meng Shan furrowed his brow: "I can’t find his aunt’s contact number."
His phone was accidentally formatted, erasing all contacts, and the paper slip with the number from before was now lost too.
"I don’t care! You must find that woman’s number for me!"
Huang Yiliu was eager to make trouble for the woman. Initially, she promised the child was clever and sensible, but he turned out to be a little devil just causing them trouble.
Little Su Yan, hearing they finally wanted to send him back, spoke up.
"I know her number."
Upon hearing this, the couple simultaneously looked at him.
"You have her phone number?"
Little Su Yan nodded: "Mm-hmm."
"Where is it?"
Little Su Yan: "I remember it in my head."
These days, few people memorize phone numbers this way. Meng Shan hesitantly took out his phone.
"Report the number."
Then Little Su Yan recited a string of numbers.
Meng Shan hesitated before dialing it.
Soon, Su Xingwan, who just finished bathing the two little ones, heard her phone ring.
She hurried over to answer: "Hello, who is this?"
Meng Shan heard the voice on the other end and hesitantly asked: "Are you Miss Su?"
"I am. May I ask who you are?"
Su Xingwan was puzzled about who this stranger’s number belonged to.
Then, suddenly, an agitated woman’s voice came through.
"Is this Miss Su? We finally found you!"
Su Xingwan: ??
"Who are you?"
"You can’t have forgotten us so quickly. Three months ago, we bought a child from you."
Su Xingwan was stunned.
"Little Su Yan!"
"Yes, that’s him. We want to return him now. Please come and take your child back!"
Having said that, the phone was passed to her husband.
"Miss Su, let’s arrange a time in the next few days to meet."
Su Xingwan immediately replied: "Okay, I’m available tomorrow!"
She feared that if they waited a few days, they might change their minds.
The couple hadn’t expected her eagerness, somewhat surprised. They thought she wouldn’t be willing to take him back and that they would have to persuade her.
Even Little Su Yan was a bit surprised.
After the call ended, Huang Yiliu glared at him viciously.
"What are you looking at? Get back to your kennel! And you can’t eat today!"
Ordered Huang Yiliu.
Aunt Fang felt sorry for him upon hearing the mistress forbidding him dinner again.
What the mistress called a kennel was actually a storage room in the villa, damp and cold.
Every time Miss Huang and Mr. Meng were upset, they would lock him in that storage room.
Aunt Fang sighed.
"Little young master, you know Miss Huang and Mr. Meng’s temper. Why do you insist on upsetting them?"
Little Su Yan sat on his bed, head down without speaking.
The next day, Su Xingwan took leave from the crew.
She temporarily left the two little ones with the crew, asking Tang Muya to look after them for the afternoon.
The two little ones were puzzled as to why Aunt wasn’t taking them out.
Su Xingwan patted their heads: "Aunt has something very important to do today. Will you stay with Aunt Tang for a while?"
The two little ones looked at their aunt seriously.
"Aunt, what are you going to do?"
"Oh, nothing." Su Xingwan wasn’t sure how smoothly bringing Su Yan back would go, so she decided not to reveal it to the little ones too soon to avoid potential disappointment.
Afterwards, she left Hengdian and took a taxi to a café where she had arranged to meet the couple.
Upon meeting, Su Xingwan saw a frail little boy standing behind them. With a tuft of unruly hair on his head, he looked very much like Little Su Luo, and she instantly knew he was Little Su Yan.
