Full-Time Public Enemy-Chapter 694 - 504 Infiltration (Part 2)
BOOM—
Chen Gu's skill, fueled by his own blood, vastly increased in power. The explosion was intense, blasting those branches to pieces. But it was, after all, just a single drop of blood, not enough to completely obliterate the other escaping branches.
Chen Gu flipped and landed, but he could no longer dodge the attack from the "Deep Space Hand Cannon".
However, at that critical moment, a massive figure suddenly blocked his path.
BOOM!
Another loud BANG, as the colorful orb of light slammed into the Combat Rooster.
The Combat Rooster SCREECHED and collapsed, a large wound on its body oozing thick, dark blue liquid.
The Combat Rooster wailed, accusing its master of being heartless and cruel for using his pet as a meat shield! So inhumane!
But relative to its portly and robust physique, the injury wasn't fatal.
Chen Gu ignored its complaints and recalled it to the Dimensional Prison Ring. He then quickly rushed over, sweeping up the "Ursa Major Battle Armor" and the "Gaze Lock"—both of which had fallen to the ground during the explosion—into the Dimensional Cage.
The Combat Rooster lay in the Dimensional Cage, a realization dawning on it. It was a conspiracy! He deliberately threw in those delicacies earlier but didn't say I couldn't eat them. I found a loophole and sneaked a taste—so this is what he was waiting for!
Indeed, every gift of fate already has its price secretly marked!
So expensive!
Huh—
It seems some more delicious desserts have fallen in.
The master didn't say I couldn't eat them… But… no, I can't be fooled again! This rooster isn't a simpleton; I won't be tricked again! I absolutely will not trip over the same stone twice!
The Combat Rooster haughtily turned its head away, refusing to look at the tempting desserts.
But the scent, so very tempting, drifted into its nostrils. It kept its head tilted away, yet its eyes couldn't help but dart glances at the desserts again and again.
Actually, it's nothing much, right? I'm a tough rooster; what's a tiny wound like this?
Maybe just one bite? I won't be greedy… right?
The Combat Rooster's neck swiveled uncontrollably, saliva practically drooling towards those little desserts.
Chen Gu couldn't find the "Deep Space Hand Cannon" and felt a sense of unease. The branch monster had taken the weapon when it fled.
It had to be said, the branch monster's intelligence was indeed quite high. Among all the weapons, the "Deep Space Hand Cannon" posed the greatest threat to Chen Gu. In that critical moment, able to take only one weapon, the branch monster had made the most strategically sound choice.
Chen Gu stood watchfully in place. Then, his body suddenly began to fade, drifting and transforming into a gaseous state.
The ruins' terrain was complex. The branches, like venomous snakes, could slip into any crevice to hide. Then, by lying in wait, it could ambush him with the "Deep Space Hand Cannon".
But Chen Gu smirked inwardly. You've miscalculated this time!
He activated the "Secret Nest". The "Radiation Field" began to expand, and everything in the surroundings slowly became clearly imprinted in his mind.
At the fifty-meter mark, Chen Gu's focus sharpened. Found one!
This one was lurking among a pile of rubble. Chen Gu also "saw" the true form of these monsters: an eye grew at the tip of each branch—glistening with the same ghastly, deathly pallor as the spores' eyes.
However, this particular branch didn't carry the "Deep Space Hand Cannon"; it was likely a scout.
Chen Gu didn't act hastily. Two of the three weapons, the "Gaze Lock" and the "Ursa Major Battle Armor," were already damaged. Retrieving this last piece, the "Deep Space Hand Cannon", was crucial.
Chen Gu drifted silently. The "Radiation Field" reached its maximum extent, and by constantly shifting his position, he had searched the nearby ruins thoroughly. He found fourteen branches hiding in different locations, but none of them had the "Deep Space Hand Cannon".
Chen Gu mused, It seems these creatures have grown cautious. The one with the "Deep Space Hand Cannon" doesn't dare approach easily; it must be hiding outside my "Radiation Field's" detection range.
But now, the tables had turned. Chen Gu had plenty of methods at his disposal.
The "Secret Nest" vibrated gently as "Mind Remote Control" activated. A nearby branch was unknowingly brought under his control.
However, Chen Gu proceeded with extreme caution. These monsters had demonstrated the ability to disperse and congregate, suggesting their "minds" were likely interconnected, like nodes on a wireless network.
Indeed, while using "Mind Remote Control" to control this branch, Chen Gu discovered it was intermittently exchanging mental information with the other branches. If not for his caution, he might have exposed himself.
But now, everything was proceeding smoothly. Chen Gu, still controlling the branch, maintained the information exchange as before, then suddenly broadcast a strong signal:
*Target spotted!*
*He's hiding among a pile of ruins!*
All the branches immediately swarmed towards that pile of ruins. Shortly after, a new branch appeared within Chen Gu's "Radiation Field" perception.
Here it comes! Chen Gu thought.
He ignored the other branches, drifting to envelop this newest arrival. Before this branch could comprehend what was happening, the "Deep Space Hand Cannon" it carried was snatched away by an unseen force.
Simultaneously, Chen Gu partially reverted from his gaseous state to solid form. A metallic spike materialized and pierced deeply into the branch's eye, pinning it firmly to the ground!
