Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 384 - 323: I’m Back, She Can Rest Easy Now
What to do with it had become another problem.
"It’s saturated with heavy Demonic Qi," Fei Yuan said, his expression grave. "This child isn’t a Demon Beast hybrid; it’s a pure-blooded Beastman. The two clashing forces in its body are running wild and can’t coexist. This Demonic Qi is an overwhelming burden, making it extremely uncontrollable."
The captured Little Silver Snake recoiled in fear, its hissing growing more frantic. It shot toward Sang Luo again, but this time, Fei Yuan caught it first. A cage-shaped Magic Artifact appeared in his hand, trapping the snake inside. "Clever little thing, knows to pick the softest target."
"Let me see if I can dispel the Demonic Qi for this child." Sang Luo’s mind was a mess. ’I thought I could wait for Quan Jin to get back, but I never expected the child to hatch early.’
A wisp of pale purple energy flowed from her fingertip and into the Little Snake’s body.
It had no effect.
Her brow furrowed deeper. "My Purification Talent came from this child in the first place, so it’s useless on him."
"Luo’er, why not try using the Angel Holy Light?" Fei Yuan suggested. "Holy Light can dispel Demonic Qi, and since the Little Snake isn’t a Demon Beast, it shouldn’t harm his true form."
"Okay, I’ll try."
Sang Luo gathered a golden Holy Light in her palm. The instant it shone, plumes of burning black smoke rose from the Little Snake’s body.
The Little Snake writhed in agony, letting out a sharp HISS!
Sang Luo hurriedly withdrew the Angel Holy Light. The Little Snake lay listlessly in the cage, unable to even move.
Fei Yuan said, "...The Demonic Qi has been in his body for too long. It’s already saturated his meridians. To remove it completely will take several more treatments."
"He’s like this after just one treatment. After a few more, I’m afraid the Demonic Qi might be gone, but so will his life." Sang Luo shook her head. "Please bring some food and Water. He must be starving."
Little Qi usually loved egg custard, so Fei Yuan brought a bowl of it with shrimp, along with a bowl of honey water. The Little Snake merely glanced at them, not even opening its mouth, retaining its wilted appearance.
For several days, he ate nothing. It was as if he were throwing a tantrum, or perhaps silently protesting, and his body grew visibly weaker.
Sang Luo’s heart ached for him.
’Getting rid of the Demonic Qi doesn’t even matter anymore. The most important thing is whether this child can survive.’
Little Qi came to see his little brother.
Little Yuan seemed to vaguely recognize him but didn’t act close. When Little Qi tried to approach, Little Yuan nearly bit him.
During every Holy Light treatment, the Little Snake would resist violently, repeatedly ramming his head against the cage in what looked like suicide attempts.
Sang Luo was terrified. After agonizing over it for several days, she came to a decision. "If it comes to this, I’ll let him cultivate demonic power. As long as he holds onto his true heart and doesn’t end up senselessly slaughtering innocents like those Demon Beast Men, it’ll be fine if he walks the line between both worlds, just like his father."
"His situation isn’t quite the same as Quan Jin’s," Fei Yuan sighed, not finishing his sentence. "Quan Jin has Demon Clan blood, so he can control Demonic Qi. But this child is a Beastman. I’m afraid..."
Sang Luo buried her head in his chest. "Then what am I supposed to do? I can’t just be the cause of his death."
Fei Yuan patted her back comfortingly. He seemed about to say something but held it back. "Luo’er, you need to get some rest, too. Don’t wear yourself out."
Sang Luo pulled away from him and nodded. "You should go handle your own affairs. I’ll be fine. I’m going to stay with the child for a bit."
"Okay."
Fei Yuan had some matters to attend to, so he left.
Sang Luo rested her arms on the table, dangling a strip of dried meat to tease the Little Snake in the cage.
As if mistaking it for her hand, the Little Snake shot out like an arrow from a bow and latched onto the jerky with a vicious bite.
Sang Luo blinked. "So you like jerky? I have plenty more."
"..." The Little Snake spat the jerky out.
It turned its head away, showing her its back.
No matter how Sang Luo tried to coax him, he reverted to his former sullen state.
"Little Yuan, it’s me, your mother. Don’t you recognize me?" Sang Luo sighed. "Your older brother used to say how much you missed your mother..."
As she continued to murmur, the moon drifted west across the sky. Leaning on the table, Sang Luo drowsily fell asleep.
The Little Snake turned its head to look at her, its tongue flicking out. A complex mix of emotions swirled in its eyes.
...
Sang Luo’s eyes flew open in the middle of the night. The cage was open—the Little Snake was gone!
"Little Yuan!"
"Sangsang, the child is with me." A tall, straight-backed figure appeared in the doorway and strolled inside.
The man’s ink-black hair cascaded down his back. He was dressed in a dark greatcoat, his incomparably handsome face bathed in the gentle moonlight, as cool and ethereal as its glow.
"Quan Jin, you’re back." Sang Luo’s eyes welled with tears. She walked over to him, only relaxing when she confirmed there was no scent of blood on him. What happened last time had left her with a lingering fear.
A smile was in Quan Jin’s eyes. A small silver snake was coiled in his palm. "He used his spiritual power to control a servant and sneak out. I caught him on the way."
The Little Snake, so defiant by day, now looked incredibly docile in Quan Jin’s palm. A closer look showed its eyes were filled with fear. The Demonic Qi emanating from Quan Jin was far more tyrannical and powerful than its own, triggering its instinctual fear and leaving it too terrified to even move.
Seeing him like this made Sang Luo’s heart ache even more. "This poor child..."
"The Demon Lord planted a Demon Seed in him, but I’ve found a way to deal with it." Quan Jin placed the Little Snake on the table. He waved his hand, and a stream of Black Qi flew from his palm, causing a faint Demon mark to appear on the Little Snake’s forehead.
Quan Jin then took out a bracelet. It was made of thirteen jet-black Stone Beads. Ten of the beads were inscribed with Power Runes, while three were blank.
Wisps of Black Qi streamed from the Little Snake’s eyes and were completely absorbed into one of the blank beads.
Immediately after, a rune appeared within the bead, and the Demon mark on the Little Snake’s forehead disappeared.
The Little Snake instantly fell unconscious on the table. Sang Luo took out a soft cloth, gently wrapped him up, and carefully cradled him in her palms.
The life force within his body began to slowly recover.
Sang Luo gently stroked the Little Snake’s smooth body, its silver scales now tinged with a hint of purple. She touched the small horns on his head and smiled. "He looks like a little dragon."
"He absorbed some Ancient Dragon Blood during his incubation, so his bloodline will continue to evolve." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Quan Jin put the child back into his storage space, then wrapped his arms around Sang Luo’s waist. He bent his head and kissed her, murmuring softly, "You’ve had a hard time lately, Sangsang."
Sang Luo said nothing, simply kissing him back with more force, all her turbulent longing melting between their lips...
A tremor went through Quan Jin’s eyes. After a long moment, he let her go. His long fingers gently brushed against her eyes, which couldn’t conceal her exhaustion. "Go get some sleep."
"Mm."
He sat by the bed, watching Sang Luo drift into a peaceful sleep, his usually cool gaze softening immensely.
Later that night, Fei Yuan returned. He wasn’t surprised to see Quan Jin was there. Glancing at the bed and seeing Sang Luo sleeping peacefully, he let out a sigh of relief. "That child of yours really wore her out. She hasn’t slept well in days."
Quan Jin stroked Sang Luo’s face and hummed in acknowledgment. "I’m back now. She can finally stop worrying."
