Galaxy Domination Guide-Chapter 482 - 470 Determined to Change
Looking at the flickering light at the entrance of the cave, Bai Zhongqi’s steps hesitated.
Having made herself a dress, Zero was finally not in her overtly exposed state anymore. Seeing Bai Zhongqi’s slowing steps, she stopped, looked at him, and asked, "Chancellor, what’s wrong?"
Bai Zhongqi shook his head and did not speak.
He had been in this sunless cave for several days, and the quiet, dark environment helped one to reflect deeply.
Finding himself in this current situation, Bai Zhongqi naturally harbored endless hatred for the usurper Xiao Yu, but he also felt some hatred towards himself.
The strange dreams had appeared over a year ago, but he hadn’t taken them too seriously. When the war with the Enslaved Beasts reached its climax, Bai Zhongqi was consumed with thoughts of how to defeat the enemy, how to save the people on Earth threatened by the Controllers, even tossing aside the warnings of his strange dreams.
Perhaps subconsciously, Bai Zhongqi didn’t believe such things could happen. It was only after Xiao Yu severed his left hand that he started to believe in the baseless dream, and by then he knew that he would not fall in such a place.
At this moment, he hated Xiao Yu, who had taken almost everything from him, but he also felt a fear deep inside. An invisible force seemed to be manipulating his life, from turning a game into reality, to the information brought by the Silver Feather Army’s traversal, all the way to his betrayal by Xiao Yu and being thrown into the Void.
The Void is a land of nothingness that negates all existence. Anyone or anything that enters is denied existence and it’s absolutely impossible to come to any other world whole again.
"What force brought me to this world then?" Bai Zhongqi wondered, unable to figure it out.
Bai Zhongqi looked at his left hand, which was actually an Enslaved Beast, a gift from Zero the day before. Utilizing human gene splicing and the connection of nerves, it allowed Bai Zhongqi to use this hand as his own. Of course, this hand was not so simple—it was part of the Swarm Empress, possessing extremely powerful strength and could be regarded as an extension of the Empress herself.
Although the left hand couldn’t breed any Enslaved Beasts, it could extract DNA from different species to evolve continuously. More importantly, this left hand possessed Star Energy. Its Star Energy cultivation was completely different from other Star Warriors; it was enhanced automatically through DNA extraction and evolution.
That wasn’t even the most powerful feature of the left hand; it could also differentiate out Star Energy seeds, thus enabling potential individuals to become Star Warriors. Naturally, the number of Star Energy seeds it could differentiate was not unlimited.
"I lost the Supreme Command, but Zero obtained the power of the Swarm, and I got this magical left hand. All in all, after the reshuffle, I still hold a good hand," Bai Zhongqi mused to himself.
"However, if I were to act like before, being overly cautious and considering others too much, hiding behind the scenes in the Star Alliance for some so-called beautiful world, or the future of civilization, letting all manner of fools dance before my eyes, even if I were ten times more powerful with the Golden Finger than I am now, even if I were the son of the Creator God, I would eventually be tormented to death," Bai Zhongqi considered realistically.
Zero looked at Bai Zhongqi and said, "No matter what you become, I will follow you."
Bai Zhongqi offered a slight smile to the flatteringly beautiful woman, clenched his left fist, and a powerful current swirled around it, brightening even the dim cave.
"If there is something that I’ve learned from falling to where I am today, it’s that things never permanently move in the direction you design, and you can’t always regard everyone and everything in a completely benevolent manner. If you want something, you can only fight for it yourself; if you want the world to be a certain way, you can only shape it yourself."
Bai Zhongqi’s eyes ignited with fiery passion, yet they held a frost-like ruthlessness, "A Chancellor should indeed behave like a Chancellor. The Galaxy is vast; the Universe is even vaster. If you cannot share my will and vision, then it’s simple, just roll away from the soil under my feet and the stars above me."
Zero watched Bai Zhongqi with a smile, not distinguishing between the previously innocent and gentle Bai Zhongqi and the determined, domineering Bai Zhongqi of today. She only knew, no matter what Bai Zhongqi was like, she would follow in his footsteps; no matter what Bai Zhongqi wanted, she was willing to help him achieve it.
Speaking slowly, Bai Zhongqi said, "As for that guy who took something he shouldn’t have, his future will be full of fear and regret, fearful that I can doom him at any moment, regretful of his initial choice. When the day of his destruction comes, not only will he lose everything, but he will also experience immense pain, horror, and despair."
Bai Zhongqi flicked his sleeves and walked toward the cave’s entrance. The slender cave ended with a lighted exit, and his figure was right in the center of the light.
He said, "Because in the Galaxy, there should only be one sovereign, one Chancellor."
Watching his silhouette, with several Thief Dragon Beasts the size of large roosters running beside her, Zero couldn’t help but smile slightly as she followed him out of the cave.
The moment Bai Zhongqi stepped out of the cave, he sneezed loudly.
When he clearly saw everything before his eyes, Bai Zhongqi’s eyes widened and he exclaimed, "What the hell is this place!"
He found himself in a white world of ice and snow where the distant undulating mountain ranges were blanketed entirely by ice and snow. If he had to compare it to something he knew, Bai Zhongqi would answer—it most resembled the "Roof of the World", the Himalayas.
The mountains here might not be as towering as the Himalayas, but the ice and snow here could make even the Himalayas pale in comparison. He could even discern that some peaks were half-made of blocks of ice, with the ice mountains merging seamlessly with the real mountains, indistinguishable from one another, creating a magnificent scene of ice and snow everywhere.
Bai Zhongqi was only wearing a Chancellor’s uniform, which was not very thick and even had a sleeve missing. His cold resistance had been somewhat enhanced through genetic improvement, but it was not possible for him to stay in extremely cold places for long. On the other hand, beings like Zero, protected by Star Energy, did not mind the low temperatures much.
Bai Zhongqi hesitated, then turned to look at Zero and said, "This can’t be an ice and snow planet, can it?"
Before Zero could answer, Bai Zhongqi himself dismissed the idea, "No, it can’t be. When we were in the cave, although it wasn’t very warm, it definitely wasn’t below freezing and there were many cave-dwelling animals and some places even had geothermal activity. This can’t be purely an ice planet."
Zero suggested, "How about we go back to the cave and let the Thief Dragon Beast continue searching for other exits?"
For Zero, staying in that cave for a lifetime would be meaningless as long as she was with Bai Zhongqi.
Bai Zhongqi was weighing his options when he decided to first warm up inside the cave before planning further. Just then, he suddenly saw two small figures moving on another mountain peak far from here.
"Look over there."
Zero looked and said, "Seems like people."
"Shall we go and see?"
With a light chuckle, Zero utilized Star Energy to manipulate their gravity, and the two of them took off from the ground, flying over the mountains, and landed on the side of another snow-capped mountain at least a few thousand meters away.
On the other side of the mountain, two young men about to freeze to death in the snow saw Bai Zhongqi and Zero appearing like immortals from the clouds and turned red with excitement, which could also possibly be due to frostbite-induced redness.
"Ze Pei, look, the legend is true! The legend is true! In the Great Snow Mountain, there really are magical dragon slayers!" said a robust young man with a stern face to his companion.
His companion cautiously looked at the two flying figures and said, "Zang Murenqing, dragon slayer or not, we are about to starve and freeze to death. Let’s ask for some food first."
By then, Bai Zhongqi and Zero had already landed steadily, observing the two obviously Primate Clan’s young men. They were wearing thick leather coats with a layer of animal hide on the outside and clearly lots of some cotton-like fiber on the inside. The craftsmanship of their coats wasn’t particularly impressive, showing the local clothing technology was rather backward; they also wore thick felt hats. Below the hats, however, their faces looked quite excited.

The two young men bowed their heads and touched their foreheads with their hands, clearly a very respectful gesture. After making the gesture, they prostrated in the snow and then Zang Murenqing said, "Oh mighty and merciful dragon slayer, we are Zang Murenqing and Ze Pei from Burzhentuo, imploring you to leave the Great Snow Mountain to save the lives on this land."
Bai Zhongqi was a bit stunned and asked Zero next to him, "Do you understand what they’re saying?"
Zero shook her head and said, "This isn’t a language I’m familiar with; it’s not from Earth."
Bai Zhongqi pursed his lips and said, "But I can understand their language."
Zero, looking astonished, said, "Could it be you’ve been here before?"
"How could that be?" Bai Zhongqi denied immediately.
He felt increasingly as though he had fallen into some kind of predetermined trap, which scared him. But fear wouldn’t help him; all he could do was to keep moving forward.
Clearly, they had mistaken him for some kind of dragon slayer, and he wasn’t planning to correct them. He was now ready to go along with them to learn more about the situation here.
Trying to use this awkward, but somehow familiar language, Bai Zhongqi said to the two young men, "Why do you ask me to leave the mountain?"
Zang Murenqing, full of excitement, exchanged glances with Ze Pei. Still kneeling, with a tone full of anger and resentment, the young man said, "Sir dragon slayer, you may not be aware, but since the last dragon slaying legend that happened sixty years ago, the Evil Dragon Clan has returned to our planet Yimoduoya. This time, there are more of them, and they are much fiercer. The dragon messengers have reached various territories instructing the Lords that each territory must sacrifice seventy percent of its population to be offered on the altars for the dragons to feast upon, and in half a year, the dragons will arrive. If every territory in Yimoduoya sacrifices seventy percent of its people, millions of innocent lives will be lost!"
