Chapter 178: Observers

[Deep Inside the World Boss Cavern]

The Holy Palace. To any historian or seasoned player in Galaxy Fall, the name alone carried an oppressive weight. They were one of the great, untouchable factions, a colossal religious superpower completely independent and having no ties with the three major empires.

Due to a catastrophic incident in the distant past—an event that gave the Holy Palace a very deep, unhealing scar—they retreated into absolute seclusion. They had been hidden for thousands of years, entirely off the grid, silently growing, amassing God-grade artifacts, and replenishing their zealot armies in secret, merely waiting for their ordained time to rise again and cleanse the world.

Before the Holy Palace vanished, even the ruthless Devil Cult would have to bow their heads and show them utmost respect. And now, here was Mirabella—a mere Lv330 anomaly—standing in a subterranean cavern, casually threatening the supreme top powerhouse of the entire Holy Palace.

"Even if your Saints, apostles, fathers, sisters or clerics come here! I will make sure to kill all of them!!" Mirabella’s voice was laced with sharp, unapologetic killing intent, her grip tightening on the hilt of her legendary blade, Sunder.

The Pope slowly nodded his head, his face a mask of serene, unnerving pity. "Ok then, it seems I will just get rid of you... I am a holy man who don’t like staining his hand in blood, but you gave me no choice."

’Ehh?! You that have killed countless people, old, young and even babies, and you call yourself holy?!’ Mirabella thought, staring at him with a slight frown.

"Ok then! Now Adira!!" Mirabella yelled, her voice echoing off the crystalline walls.

"Yes Master."

"....?!!"

The Pope looked over his shoulder, his divine senses finally registering the tiny fluctuation in energy. He saw a small, radiant fairy hovering directly above the one-meter-tall, violently glowing red egg.

"A divine fairy?!" He was genuinely stunned, his calm demeanor slipping for a fraction of a second. Fairies of that purity were myths even to him.

Moving with speed, Adira lightly placed her tiny glowing palm on the massive egg. In a flash of golden light, she vanished with it, securely entering Mirabella’s isolated soul sea—a dimensional space that no external scanning skill or power could breach.

"You?!!" He turned back to Mirabella, his serene facade completely shattering, his face now filled with raw, unholy rage. The cavern shook under the sheer pressure of his aura.

"That Egg is mine!!!" He yelled as massive, spider-web cracks appeared all over the reinforced stone walls, unable to handle a Lv500’s fury.

"Give it to me and I will spare your body after I kill you!!"

"Spare my body?" Mirabella scoffed, completely unaffected by the crushing gravitational pressure. With a surge of spirit energy, four ethereal wings appeared on her back. She kept Sunder safely in her inventory, refusing to draw it for a losing battle, and gave a small, mocking smile:

"My name is Spectral... We will settle this when your holy Palace fully comes out of seclusion. Remember my name, Pope, we will meet again." She said calmly, engraving her new alias into the mind of a world-ending threat.

"You!!! Do you think you can escape---"

BOOOM!!

The Pope blinked in supreme surprise, shock, and disbelief, his glowing hands grasping at the empty space before him. The air simply imploded where Mirabella had stood.

"What the? How can a human be so fast?" He immediately spread out his massive spirit energy, his domain easily scanning hundreds of miles in a single second, searching for her unique energy signature. But as his senses swept over the ruined Anaconda Path above, he froze.

"The Princess of Dragon Empire? Wait... Is that Hayatobi?"

He quickly drew back his sweeping senses, frantically reeling in his aura to avoid alerting Hayatobi—the only entity in the region whose power could rival his own. Trapped between exposing his faction prematurely or letting the thief go, his fists clenched until his knuckles cracked.

"Spectral! I don’t know where you came from! But once the holy Palace fully revived, I will personally have your head and slowly peel off your skin!!!" He screamed, his voice echoing through the empty cavern like a demonic curse.

[500 meters away - Edge of the Ruined Path]

A dense cloud of grey fog, perfectly condensed in a size of a ball, slowly shattered like fragile glass, and Mirabella walked out from it. She moved her gaze around the jagged terrain to ensure the coast was clear, and then sat down heavily on a large boulder, her stamina bar flashing.

"Seems the fog Lord can also block a scanning skill from a Lv500 Pope. Maybe because I condensed most of my spirit energy to make it stronger." She muttered, analytically reviewing the stealth mechanics of her escape. She rested her arm casually on her knee, her left hand dangling below the boulder as her breathing steadied.

"I can use the crystal Domain, but he will surely detect me..."

Adira appeared before her, hovering safely in the air, the stolen egg resting securely within the soul sea. "If I may, why is Master running away from that man?"

Mirabella looked up at her glowing companion, and exhaled a long breath: "You don’t have to refer to him as a man, he isn’t a human."

".....?!"

Adira was entirely stunned. With her divine fairy powers, she possessed absolute life-detection, and the Pope’s biological life force had perfectly matched that of a normal human.

"Of course, you can’t sense it... Not only is he not a human, he has a very strange god class skill. Even with my current strength, I am not his match... Everything I said to his face, I was just bluffing." Mirabella explained, her cold, pragmatic words shocking Adira even more. It was a rare admission of weakness from her usually overpowered master.

"Don’t worry, He won’t attack us still the holy Palace fully comes out of seclusion. By then, I must be a Lv500 All-bloodlines, that’s the only way I can fight that skill." Mirabella moved her gaze toward the distant horizon, pinpointing the location of the remaining Dragon Tooth group and the exhausted Princess.

"Lord Hayatobi? It seems Yakima’s message reached the empire and he tore through space rushing over." Mirabella stood up, her mind already moving to the next objective.

"This isn’t the place to examine the Egg... If my guess is correct, I will be much stronger than a whole empire. But this isn’t enough, I need more fighters."

"Fighters? Is Master planning on building a force?" Adira asked in mild surprise, staring at her Master’s ambitious eyes.

"Not only a force, I am planning on building my own faction, which will be strong enough to take down an empire... I will have to help Carl and Grace break through to God rank stage." She exhaled, finalizing her massive power-scaling roadmap, and jumped down the hill, lightly landing on the dusty ground. Before moving, she paused, looking over her shoulder at a seemingly empty, sheer rock wall.

"Should I kill them, Master?" Adira whispered, her fairy senses locking onto the concealed lifeforms.

"Just ignore them, besides, I can’t kill my future helpers." Mirabella said, smiling knowingly at the rock face, and with a swift, silent step, she vanished into the shadows, heading back to camp.

__

The solid rock wall some distance away seamlessly shifted, the advanced optical camouflage dropping as three imposing figures walked out. One was an elegant, high-level elf, and the other two were towering, battle-hardened Ogres.

"She detected us." The green skin muscular Ogre standing on the right said, his deep voice rumbling as he casually placed his massive, rune-carved bone axe on his broad shoulder.

"Truly strange, she is just Lv330, but her strength is way beyond that." The female elven noble, Adol, said, licking her finger thoughtfully. Her long green hair flowed in the turbulent wind, her sharp eyes staring at the exact spot where Mirabella had just disappeared.

"Let’s head back. The battle is already over... Besides, she already claimed our target, going after her with Lord Hayatobi close by isn’t a good idea." Adol said practically, prioritizing survival over a suicidal ambush. She gracefully waved her hand, triggering a group teleportation matrix, and the next moment, the three vanished entirely from the ruined Anaconda Path, leaving the gorge dead silent once more.
