Game's Extra: Starting With SSS-Ranked 1000-Death Talent-Chapter 62: New Protagonist
Orchidaceae was a humanoid flower-like abomination, its petals dangling all over the cave.
No matter how weird or unique the monster was, Noa paid no mind to it.
His attention was caught by something else.
He was almost certain that Z’s heir was a young male with a cocky attitude.
But instead, he saw a soft girl.
The girl, who appeared adorable with her white long dress and short silky blond hair, looked nothing like the rough boy the rumors described.
Either the tracker made a mistake, or something far more interesting was happening.
Noa chose to go with the second option.
His interest was piqued.
’They lied. Z, that asshole, played everyone in the world and hid her daughter so thoroughly that no one suspected a thing.’
Players, Arthur, Tifa, and maybe even X and Y were deceived.
Contrary to how captivating the girl looked, she was wielding a great axe with ease, blocking and striking her opponent’s every attempt to end her.
Noa was the only one to discover this great mystery.
As an opportunist and a guy with big plans, his playful and excited face was replaced by a wicked grin.
An idea flashed through his mind.
First, Noa hid and observed the battle.
Studying the monster and the girl was an important part of his plan, and if he deemed it impossible, he was ready to strike both of them.
A crushing sound was heard repeatedly as the girl was thrown into the wall.
Defeating an abomination of that caliber was beyond Evolved, but she held on.
’She is strong,’ Noa mused. ’Even more than Arthur is right now.’
Her heavy axe moved like a feather in her hands, and constantly shifting weight around, she landed a few hits.
It was a quick and deadly battle.
Stony walls and floors crumbled in every exchange.
Noa barely held himself back from jumping into the fight as well.
His action-oriented spirit was ignited.
"Came out!"
Amid this chaotic situation, the voice called him out.
"You noticed me?" Noa asked in surprise.
The girl sidestepped the sharp gray petal that could cut her in half and said,
"It wasn’t hard, considering the bloodlust coming from you."
Noa smiled and showed himself, nearing her.
The fact that a person at her station was operating alone proved her worth.
Yet Noa couldn’t help but notice how innocent and cute her voice sounded.
"Whose head do you want?" she asked. "Mine or this shitty monster’s?"
There was no silence between them.
Noa had to dodge a couple of stones and petals before answering.
"Why not both?"
His voice sounded like a mischievous joke, but both of them knew he was serious.
The adorable girl didn’t show a reaction.
Instead, her speed increased, her frail muscles bulged in power, and changed the battle balance.
Now she was the one to push around the Orchidaceae, making the beast retreat a few steps back.
Noa got even closer to her.
But she showed no fear whatsoever.
As if the very idea of her being in danger didn’t exist.
It didn’t come solely from her confidence or arrogance.
Noa could tell that much.
She wasn’t looking at him, but somehow he felt he was being peered into.
No alarms rang in her head, but Noa was kept in check as she danced on a battlefield.
The more Noa watched her, the surer he became.
’She should have been the protagonist instead of that shitface.’
The only quality Arthur had as a main character was his strength and OP ability.
That was the only reason people followed him.
But the girl before him came with a full package.
She was attractive, strong, with a good head over her shoulders, and most of all, she had substance to her.
And Noa was sent to kill such a character.
One time, he found an interesting character from the story who was worthy of leading the plot, and he was forced to execute her.
Was he really forced, though?
Red Order issued an order to get rid of her, and as an official member on his first mission, he had to do it.
Especially when the girl was the most hateful man’s daughter, and actually killing her would work in his favor.
At one glance, Noa had no choice.
He had to do it.
’The hell with that,’ he smirked.
Even though he liked Tifa’s character, he didn’t want to be her sidekick.
Noa recognized that he was the key to changing the world’s fate.
But he wasn’t some novelkiss protagonist who was aura farming by operating solo.
Acting nonchalant and fighting alone with no allies would destroy his chances of survival.
Even the deepshit Arthur realized it.
But he made a grave mistake of surrounding himself with followers, not allies.
Noa didn’t want to kill everyone—except Arthur—only to find himself alone and with no support.
There was another factor as well.
The third and mysterious character whose identity remained unknown.
But it was someone with taming abilities, and which side they would choose had yet to be determined.
As for the girl in front of him, Noa had an urge to replace Arthur with her.
He had an ultimate idea of turning her against her father and creating a main character out of her.
Yet Noa had no knowledge about her and was left with nothing but a wish. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
However, he was resolved to reach his goals and refused to give up without giving his best shot.
"Are you going to attack anytime soon, or should I just keep waiting?" the girl asked him out of nowhere.
Noa stood only three metres away from her, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
The idea of changing the story as if he were an author made his heart flutter and his voice unintentionally deep.
"I am enjoying the view," he answered.
The girl saw his unusual condition, the redness of Noa’s cheeks, and the words he softly uttered, and got the wrong idea.
"Wh-what are you talking about?" she stuttered. "That’s... You pervert!"
Noa was puzzled for a second. ’Ooh shit.’
The girl turned out to be a tsundere, and she misunderstood his actions, thinking that Noa had a crush on her.
