Chapter 284: Siblings reunite

Everyone in the courtroom stood in silence, while the Devil sat quietly on his throne without uttering another word as he tried to assess the situation he hadn’t foreseen coming.

Emily discreetly turned to meet Raylen’s gaze, who currently bore a cunning smile and appeared to be relishing the moment a little too much. He quipped, "It looks like it is time for you to bestow your blessings upon us all, Father."

The Devil scowled before saying, "It doesn’t look like there’s anything else to do," and he waved his hand.

At the same moment, Dante appeared in the courtroom. And the King of Versailles didn’t look one bit pleased, having caught Celeste ready to destroy his brother’s body.

"Pleasure to see you here, Dante," Viktor greeted, feigning innocence as if he wasn’t involved in whatever complaint Dante had come with.

Dante directed a glare at Viktor before shifting his stern gaze to Celeste, who stood beside Aiden. "Stealing our servants and pets is one thing, but taking my brother is an entirely different level of thievery I didn’t expect from you, Viktor. Did you kill him?" he demanded.

"It is quite rude of everyone to assume I had anything to do with his death," Viktor softly harrumphed. "He died through his own adventurous pursuits."

"Considering you gave your word to Emily but then ordered Celeste to destroy his body, shame on you," Raylen added with a disapproving tone. "This alone should warrant punishment by not allowing you to see any of our future children," he continued, and Viktor’s expression hardened. "Or perhaps increasing the wish-gift to four?"

Viktor rolled his eyes and said, "Celeste didn’t harm him. Look, his body is just fine. The boy seems to share his sister’s uncanny luck when it comes to escaping death." When everyone’s eyes shifted to Emily, he added, "The other sister. Of course, it ultimately depends on the boy, whether he wishes to go back to the living realm or stay here."

"What do you mean?" Dante frowned, unsure if Viktor had resorted to any underhanded methods concerning his younger brother’s untimely death.

"Brother Dante," Emily called out to get his attention. "Aiden has found his soulmate."

Dante’s gaze shifted back at Aiden, who gave him a nod and wore a smile that he couldn’t contain. The younger Blackthorn affirmed, "I have. It’s Celeste." This revelation made Dante stare at the two of them standing side by side. He then said, freēwēbnovel.com

"In that case, it provides even more reason for him to be able to return to the living realm with her."

"Excuse me? Celeste is going nowhere," Viktor asserted with a huff. "She is going to stay in Hell, and technically, Aiden died naturally. As in, with no involvement from me. He died in a manner that might lead his body to reject his soul, and it seems his time is up. But, of course, there are other ways, like bonding with the Archdemoness and gaining the ability to visit the living realm."

"I don’t mind that," Aiden chimed in with his thoughts. He understood that he was no longer on the list for punishment in Hell, and having such strong connections, he knew he would be able to visit his family whenever he wished.

"Are you absolutely sure about this, Aiden?" Emily asked, and she saw her younger brother nod in response.

"It isn’t like I won’t be able to visit at all. It’s just that I will be visiting as a dead person, which no one will be aware of." Aiden shrugged his shoulders. "What do you think, Celeste?"

Celeste’s body froze, as if Aiden’s question had turned her into a statue. "We can visit both realms," she replied quietly.

Although the location wasn’t what she had imagined as the place where she would reunite with her family members, it didn’t diminish Emily’s happiness upon seeing Aiden and Dante in the room. She walked up to her elder brother and watched as he raised his hand, gently resting it on top of her head.

In concern, Dante inquired, "Why do you have blood on your clothes?"

Emily looked down at her dress and then said, "It must be Logan’s blood. He’s gone, Brother Dante," and upon receiving a quizzical look from her brother, she explained, "The man who kidnapped me when I was young. The one who was after my soul."

Dante’s eyebrows furrowed, and he looked at Raylen, who confirmed it with a nod. "He is in Hell now, if you want to deal with him."

"That I will," Dante vowed.

Initially, when Dante found out that Raylen had put his paws on his sister, he wanted to break his fellow archdemon’s jaw. However, their bond now appeared entirely natural, as if they were meant to be, and the man had proven himself by protecting his sister.

The last time he had seen Emily, when he saw her off as she boarded the ship, she had been broken and in pain. But now she was whole again and appeared to be at peace.

"Thank you for taking care of her," Dante said, expressing his gratitude to Raylen, who smiled. His siblings were in good hands, Dante thought to himself before turning to Viktor with a request, "Can you locate Niyasa, wherever she may be, and bring her here?"

Dante’s words were like music to the Devil’s ears, and he perked up in his seat. Who knew he was going to gather them all so quickly? thought Viktor to himself.

However, Dante clarified his intentions with a discerning gaze, stating, "I meant alive."

Even Emily turned to face Viktor in hopes of seeing her sister, as she hadn’t heard any news about her. She joined her elder brother’s request, adding, "Please, Father-in-law."

Viktor’s lips pursed, and he raised his hand. "Let us have Niyasa Blackthorn brought to Hell then," he declared, and he snapped his fingers.

In the very next moment, water splashed onto the ground, revealing the second princess of the Blackthorn family, Niyasa, as she materialised before them, coughing up the water she had swallowed.

"Niyasa!" Emily and Aiden rushed to their sister’s side, their faces filled with concern.

In a hoarse voice, Niyasa questioned, her vision still blurry, "Is this my final moment before death? Am I in Heaven?"

"You are in Hell," Viktor deadpanned, slightly annoyed at the comparison of his beautiful dark courtroom to something so bright.

As Niyasa’s vision cleared, she gazed upon Emily with disbelief. "Is that really you, Lily?"

Emily nodded, her heart aching as she noticed how much weight Niyasa had lost, her appearance drastically altered. She inquired, "Niyasa?" while her sister continued to stare in astonishment.

Still in shock and overwhelmed by the presence of Viktor, Raylen, and many unfamiliar faces, Niyasa’s emotions overcame her. She wrapped her arms tightly around her sister’s neck and began to sob.

"I WAS THROWN INTO THE WATER TO DROWN!" Niyasa wailed, her voice trembling with trauma. Emily patted her younger sister’s back to console her.

"There, there," she said. "You are safe now and will be going back home soon."

"I am so sorry, Lily!" Niyasa uttered through her tears. Her words left Emily wondering which instance her sister was referring to.

"Whatever it is, it is okay now," Emily reassured her, her kind words only making Niyasa more tearful.

Dante, who stood to the side, watched his second sister as she continued to cry. In his own way of wanting to punish and make Niyasa understand the consequences of her actions, he had not made an attempt to assist in the efforts to find her, hoping she would learn something from her ordeal.

Once Niyasa calmed down, she wiped her tears and cleared her throat awkwardly before suggesting, "Let us go home together then."

Emily smiled at her younger sister and said, "I have some matters to attend to in Storm Kingdom, but Ray and I will visit Versailles after that."

Niyasa couldn’t wait to return to the palace, but as she thought about it, her mind rewound to what Emily had just said. "Ray?" she inquired.

Aiden chuckled, saying, "Oh, you have so much to catch up on, Niyasa. Raylen and Emily are soulmates. Celeste and I are soulmates too."

"Celeste who?" Niyasa asked, as if her mind couldn’t process this sudden deluge of information.

"This is Celeste," Aiden said, turning towards the Archdemoness, and Niyasa squinted at her before inquiring,

"Doesn’t she look older than—she is beautiful!" swiftly correcting her words upon seeing the glare she received from the Archdemoness.

"Didn’t you meet anyone special during your vacation?" Aiden asked, causing Niyasa to frown. Most of her time had been spent trying to run away, or in the company of crocodiles.
