Chapter 813

“Report, radar shows a formation of aircrafts 50 kilometres to the northeast. They are heading towards Wickenburg. From their radar signatures, they are likely Air Force One and four escorting F-22 fighter aircrafts. Estimated time of arrival, eight minutes.”

The pilot reported from the cockpit in front.

The technology level of the Tidal Fighter’s radar far exceeded that of the present-day technology level. Thus, not even a stealth fighter aircraft like the F-22 could hide from it.

“Don’t worry. With America’s present technology level, they will not be able to detect a Tidal Fighter.” Jiang Long nodded. Reconfirm our optical camouflage, infrared camouflage and radar camouflage.”

“Confirmed.” The pilot was quick to report.

“Alright. Immediately adjust course to head towards Air Force One. Then…” Jiang Long nodded satisfactorily.

“Stay close to Air Force One. Fly right beside it and maintain the same direction and speed as it. Give Tong You five minutes.”

“What?” Tong You was instantly shocked. “Manager, are you… joking right now? No matter how formidable the Tidal Fighter’s stealth function may be, there is no way it can remain undetected at such a close range! Moreover, it needs to be maintained for five minutes!”

“Are you afraid?” Jiang Long gave Tong You a glance.

“Why would I?” Tong You was quick to shake his head. “Given the Tidal Fighter’s defensive capabilities, there is no way the US Army can easily shoot it down. However, I fear… it would affect your plan.”

Tong You was also not an Awakened one with strong combat abilities. Back when he was in Thorned Flower Guild, he was just a very unremarkable and minor character.

Shen accepted him into Thorned Flower Guild for the same reason as Nightmare. He was just another interesting mascot to Shen.

His skill, Soul Occupation, allowed him to temporarily abandon his body and enter the body of any NPC in an instance dungeon. At the same time, he would also gain all the memories of the NPC.

Only, the flaws of this skill were equally obvious.

Firstly, activating his skill required him to remain motionless for five minutes, during which there can be no interruptions.

Secondly, in order to activate his skill, he must be within a distance of 50 metres from his target.

Thirdly, this skill could not affect any Player or Awakened. He could only target NPCs.

Finally, the moment he successfully occupied the target’s body, the target – regardless if they were a normal human or a monster of the instance dungeon – would lose all their abilities. Additionally, his own body would fall into a state of suspended animation. If either his new body was killed or his original body was killed, Tong You would die.

In other words, Tong You’s skill was actually not that different from trash.

If he were to encounter a formidable BOSS, by himself, he would not be able to last for even ten seconds before the BOSS killed him, let alone five minutes.

And even if he had a team of formidable teammates who could protect him from all attacks as he remained within 50 metres from the BOSS, after taking over the BOSS’ body, the BOSS’ body would lose all of the abilities that it used to possess.

And if his teammates made use of the opportunity to kill the BOSS, it would mean Tong You’s death.

Due to that, although Tong You’s skill was interesting, like Nightmare, he could only become a vase-like decoration.

Up until now, he had only encountered one chance to be of use. It was the Changban Hill instance dungeon, where he had encountered Cao Cao, an NPC who was on the same faction as him who also had a high number of formidable subordinates.

Only then did Tong You realize that there were times when even his trash-like skill could actually be of use. It was also then that Tong You became utterly convinced of Jiang Long’s leadership and strategizing abilities.

This time, however, their situation was different from before. Obviously, Jiang Long’s objective was to borrow the power of the entire US Army.

But the prerequisite of doing so was that the people around the target must not discover anything amiss.

At present, a huge commotion had erupted in this instance dungeon. It was very clear that the entire nation of the USA had entered a state of high alert. Should any mistake occur during the process of taking over the target’s body, the other party’s vigilance would rise to the max.

“Do not worry. Just follow my instructions.” Seeing the worried look on Tong You’s face, Jiang Long confidently waved it off. “It will be fine.”

After saying that, he stood up and stretched his hand out towards empty air.

A door appeared before Jiang Long.

Gripping the door handle, Jiang Long then opened the door and walked inside.

When the door was closed, it disappeared, leaving not a single trace behind.

As for the surrounding members of Starfall Guild who were there, they did not appear surprised at all. It would seem that they were no longer surprised by the actions of their Manager.

After but a few seconds, the door reappeared and Jiang Long walked out from it with a victorious smile. “Alright, let’s begin.” fre ewebno vel.com

“Mr President, we are about to arrive at the Wickenburg military base.”

A middle-aged officer with the rank of colonel leaned his head close to the President’s ear and shouted.

It was not that he was deliberately disrespecting his own President. This man with messy blond hair used to be just a vulgar businessman, a fat old man prone to aggrandization. This man had never had his respect… and vote. That said, as a soldier of the Marine Corps of the United States of America, he had to maintain a show of respect due to his immediate superior.

Only, the sound of the helicopter’s propellers was too loud while the President refused to wear headphones.

“Got it!” The President roared back, his pudgy face flapping alongside the vibrations of the helicopter.

Slowly, the helicopter landed on a tarmac.

Wickenburg, a small town northeast of Phoenix, Arizona.

The people around Wickenburg knew that there was a very small road at the north side of their town. There were no road signs on the road, which led to a small military base, which was guarded by gun-toting soldiers day and night.

This was unsurprising. As what was presently the sole superpower in the world, the number of bases the US Army had – be it within their own territory or overseas – number up to the thousands.

Unbeknownst to the rest, however, there was a military base deep underground that was a hundred times bigger than the building above.

Almost every American had heard of the other name given to this place, though not everyone believed that it existed.

However, it truly existed.

Area 51.

“Mr President, here.”

After the helicopter landed, the colonel from the Marine Corps swiftly jumped down. He circled around the helicopter to open the door for the President. “The Secretary of Homeland Security and the Director of the CIA are already waiting here. Ah right, the Secretary of Defence is here as well.”

Four senior military officers were standing before the tarmac with even more soldiers standing guard around them.

“Where’s the FBI?” The President turned towards him with a frown.

“Err… in principle, the FBI are not involved against foreign…” The colonel was momentarily taken aback. “This incident is regarding an alien meteorite…”

“This is mother f**king America! The damned meteorite struck our great American soil! Those civilians and soldiers who died are mother f**king Americans!” the President abruptly bellowed, with a loud voice that exceeded even the helicopter wings that had yet to come to a complete halt.

“Are you telling me right now that this is a foreign affair and the FBI can all go on a vacation?!”

“I… of course not!” The colonel hastily shook his head. “I’ll contact the Director of the FBI right away and have him come to Wickenburg…”

“There’s no need for him to come anymore!” The President’s spit sprayed all over the place, a few drops falling upon the colonel’s face. “Tell him, YOU’RE FIRED! The official documents will be sent to his office once this incident is dealt with… no, from this moment onwards, it’s not his office anymore! Understood?!”

“Yes, Mr President!” The colonel quickly wiped his sweat.

As expected, his President… was still as irritable and… as stupid as the last time he saw him.

Hopefully, under his so-called leadership, even if our country does not become great again, at least don’t fall.

“By the way…” The President had been striding towards the building up ahead when he seemingly recalled something. Abruptly, he turned around to face the colonel. “You wait here. A White House Special Intelligence Unit from the White House will be arriving here shortly. Due to the urgency of the situation, they do not have any official documents with them. After they arrive, immediately bring them to me.”

“The White House… Special Intelligence Unit?” The colonel looked at the President in confusion. “Mr President, I have never heard of this unit before…”

“Should every department of our United States of America report to you, Mr Colonel?!” The President strode back to stand before the colonel. Then, he stretched his hand out to squeeze the colonel’s shoulder. “Did I forget something? Is the Colonel the commander-in-chief of this country and not the President?”

“No… no! I understand, Mr President!” The colonel hastily lowered his head. “I… I’ll wait here! It’s the… White House Special Intelligence Unit, right?”

“At least you are not stupid to the point of getting the name wrong.” The President turned around with an impassive expression before striding back to the door of the building.

Watching the President leave, the colonel gingerly wiped the cold sweat oozing out from his forehead.

Don’t joke around! The Director of the FBI had lost his job with just one word from this President. He did not want to end up in the same situation.

At any rate, the military gave quite the generous pension.

Not long after the President entered the door, the sound of a jet engine suddenly came from the sky. However, it seemed as though there were no flying objects there.

The colonel frowned. As he was feeling puzzled, he saw the light above him twisting all of a sudden. Next, a mid-sized, highly futuristic fighter jet deactivated its optical camouflage to appear before him. Slowly, it landed.

Optical camouflage?!

It was using thrusters used in large aircrafts for vertical landing?

Moreover, this appearance…

The colonel was not someone without any contacts in Area 51 or the Air Force, but he had never heard about his country possessing such a formidable aircraft.

No, forget possessing something like this. Even the research and development… logically speaking, it should still be at the blueprint stage.

The colonel, still in a state of shock, watched as the combat aircraft’s hatch opened up. Next, a row of ‘soldiers’ in strange attires without any military ranks attached jumped down.

What surprised the colonel the most was that all of these fellows from the White House Special Intelligence Unit had black hair.

Rather… all of them were of Asian descent. The nation’s top secret unit? He had never even heard of their name before.

This was simply too ridiculous.

However, since the President had said it… perhaps, it was not impossible.

The man in the lead wore a pair of sunglasses. Taking large steps forward, he arrived before the colonel. With an expressionless face, he said in a low and cold voice, “We are the White House Special Intelligence Unit. Where is the President?”

“He’s… please come with me.”

The colonel promptly recovered from his shock and he performed a military salute to the other party.

Although he could not see any military rank on them… giving a salute first was surely not wrong.

The man in sunglasses saluted back before following the colonel into the building.

After making their way through three well-secured gates, they were greeted with a massive elevator, big enough to carry two Abrams main battle tanks at the same time.

Everyone stood on the elevator and it began moving deep underground. The low rumble of the machine continued for two minutes before a massive square finally appeared before them.

Even when on the surface, the size of this large square would have been enough for it to be called grand. For something like this to appear underground, it was practically a miracle.

At the centremost area of the square was the wreckage of a half-destroyed spaceship. There were tens of wires pulling it in all directions and every wire was connected to a machine, all of varying sizes.

There were rooms all around the square. With the exception of the number on the rooms, there were no other marks on the rooms.

“At present, the President should be in… the Central Conference Room, number 101. This way, please.” After the elevator came to a halt, the colonel immediately led the group of men from the White House Special Intelligence Unit to the left side of the square.

After softly knocking on the door, the colonel heard the President’s voice coming from within.

“Come in! Damn it, why are you guys so slow?!”
