The cultivation ranks for Spirit Beasts range from Rank 1 to Rank 9, Rank 1 being the weakest and Rank 9 being the strongest. There are several other differences in the cultivation system of Beasts and humans. Humans have 9 minor realms in every Major realm whereas The Beasts only have 4 minor realms namely Early stage, mid stage, late stage and peak stage. Beasts do not have Body tempering Realm in their cultivation system because their bodies are already forged to withstand the effects of Qi whereas humans are weak when they are born. They need to make a good vessel so that they can wield Qi without any backlashes.

Humans can continue to strengthen their body using body tempering exercises but they choose not to do so as they find it a waste of time. For cultivators they only have a limited lifespan and they have to cultivate and fight for resources in that limited time so they tend to find shortcuts to gain power.
