Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!-Chapter 597: The Conviction To Die!
"To think my secret would be revealed like this here," Amon clicked his tongue as he muttered under his breath, but Noah heard his words.
"Well, it was also my fault that I dragged this battle for so long." Amon raised his voice slowly as he lifted his head back to face Noah.
"Why aren't you taking the chance to finish me off?" Amon asked with a curious look on his face.
Noah only gave the man a deadly stare, as if asking if he looked like an idiot.
"Well, you are really perceptive. I would have at least injured you if you had fallen for that." Amon clicked again in disappointment as the arm that was falling through the air stopped and was pulled back toward him.
The severed arm connected to its previous spot in an unnatural manner. The arm spun, producing several clicking sounds before it returned to looking like a normal arm.
Amon turned to look at Xin Yan, who had just finished slaughtering all the beasts on her side and stood on their corpses like a war goddess.
As if feeling his gaze, she looked at him coldly. Just a single glance from her made Amon feel his body freezing, but it was only for a second before he relaxed.
Then, right before his eyes, Xin Yan's transformation faded, and she returned to her previous appearance, as if her inhumane form was nothing but an illusion.
But the state of the corpses around her was a declaration that everything was real.
Amon heaved a sigh of relief, seeing the woman exhausted and popping a pill into her mouth.
"Are you thinking of popping another army out of any other holes you have?"
Amon turned back to look at Noah, who had spoken just now. "Still in the mood to make jokes?"
"I heard that someone from your sect came to one of our bases and killed everyone there, including the innocent prisoners."
"You are standing before the same person." Amon's previously severed hand twitched when he heard Noah's reply.

"But to be lectured on morality by someone who takes away the free will of people doesn't make me feel good at all."
"So you are aware of that and still brought people back from there?" Amon looked at Noah carefully, trying to gauge his reaction, but he got nothing.
"Did you think there was any way to save those people or maybe break the control over them?" Amon sneered and added, "That person must be very important to the sect for them to take such a risk."
"Why are you interested in a mere tool you could replace?" Noah did not answer but asked back with a raised eyebrow. 'Can he put more effort into his acting while trying to buy some time?'
"You are right; I am not interested in that person, but I am interested in why you have the guts to stand here even when you know we can control someone's mind and soul." Instantly, Noah felt a surge of malicious intent directed at him.
The mask on Amon's face glowed for the first time; the sun swirled as if it had come to life.
"Just imagine what would happen if I could bring that woman with horns and tail under command and make her kill you all," Amon laughed out loud just thinking about the scene happening. "Not just her; everyone here is a talent worth enslaving under me."
Amon's laughter increased when he saw the shocked and panicked look on Noah's face.
"But before any of them, I will give you the honor to serve under our lord for the rest of your life." He floated towards Noah, who stood rooted to the spot.
"If you had such a powerful technique, why wait until now?" Naturally, Noah was faking his panic, but he was genuinely curious about this fact.
"I cannot let any of you escape and let this information be revealed to the whole world, allowing our plan to face more interference," the masked general spoke with firm conviction as the controlling force emerged from his mask, moving towards Noah. "Even though we are confident in sweeping through the world, we don't plan to let anything affect our lord's plan."
Without wasting more words, Amon tried to control Noah. His energy entered his body directly and rushed to invade his soul.
The only thing that energy could do was touch upon Noah's soul realm before it was annihilated.
"Wha—"
Splurt!
Amon coughed a mouthful of liquid that looked similar to what the worms inside him excreted.
"How could the power of the Lord fail?!" Amon's voice held a hint of shock and vigilance as he moved away from Noah unconsciously.
Seeing the smile on the man's face gave him a very unsettling feeling.
"Did you fail? Why don't you try again? You talked so much about it that I almost feel bad for you." Noah spoke as if he were sympathizing with Amon, but the mockery in his eyes was louder.
Amon did not reply but looked in a certain direction. "I don't know what you did, but today I will be the one to succeed."
As if he was afraid Noah would seize the moment to capture him, Amon immediately took something from his storage ring and crushed it.
The next moment, several figures hiding in the forest rushed toward Ming Ye without caring about their lives.
Some of the weaker ones picked up Ruo'er and the rest.
"You know you are going to die here today." Noah's voice sounded behind Amon, which made the man sigh.
"As long as I complete this task, my death would not be that big of a deal," the man replied as if he didn't care whether he lived or died. "Besides..."
"I am not going to die today." As he added this, a figure appeared beside Amon, shielding him from Noah.
The man was none other than the only remaining captain under Amon.
"Have you asked my permission before touching these kids?" Shisan's cold voice echoed on the battlefield, causing them to look over.
There she stood, fully recovered, facing the remaining two cloaked figures with a straight posture while two similarly dressed men lay at her feet, decapitated.
As she spoke, she merged with the shadows in the area and appeared behind the two of them, killing them in one swoop.
"Wait here, kids. I will go help elder Ming—" Seeing the old man surrounded from all directions, Ming Ye turned to move.
Splash!
But before she could even take a step forward, a huge slash mark appeared on her left-hand side. Her severed hands dropped to the ground while bones were exposed to the air.
Shisan turned to face her attacker, and her eyes moistened when she saw the person was her young miss.
"Young miss—" Her eyes shook, causing the tears to fall as strength escaped her grasp. The last thing she saw was a familiar zither in the hands of her young miss.
