Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world-Chapter 81: Discussions [2]
Chapter 81: Discussions [2]
With a soft sigh, Matilda spoke "Tomorrow morning, you will have an audience with the Supreme Pontiff, the Sacred Triarchs, and the Empyreans of the Divine Order. The most powerful figures within the Church will be gathered to speak with you."
"Further discussions can be done there."
"I understand that this is a lot to take in, but it is necessary. There are matters that must be discussed... your role, your future, and the expectations that come with it."
Hearing this, Brandon nodded his head and she spoke "Arrangements for your stay have already been made. You will spend the night here within the Inner Sanctum. Your quarters will be prepared accordingly, ensuring comfort and privacy."
"The Inner Sanctum is one of the most heavily protected locations within the Church. No one unauthorized can enter these halls. However, given the unusual nature of Lord Brandon’s existence... additional precautions will be taken."
Charlotte rolled her eyes "I alone am more than enough to protect him."
With a bow, she muttered "For now, rest. I will ensure that your quarters are prepared."
With that, she left the room, leaving them alone.
Charlotte reached for the bottle of wine that had been left behind and poured herself another glass before taking a slow sip.

Brandon was lying on the bed in his assigned room and took a grape from the stool beside him before tossing it inside his mouth.
With the mobile in his hand, he tapped the keypad, chatting with Eira.
Since he couldn’t talk about what had happened today—the baptism, the golden pillar... he just casually chatted more about the academy and about the studies.
[Brandon]: Eira. You still awake?
It didn’t take long for a reply to pop up.
[Eira]: You know I barely sleep. What’s up?
Brandon chewed another grape, typing his response.
[Brandon]: Nothing much. Just stuck somewhere for the night. Thought I’d check in.
[Eira]: "Stuck somewhere"? What, did you get lost again?
[Brandon]: Ha-ha. Very funny. No, I just got... roped into something. It’s complicated.
[Eira]: Huh. Sounds like trouble. You getting into fights again? Or did someone throw you into another rupture?
[Brandon]: No ruptures this time. Just a bunch of people talking my ears off.
Eira’s reply was instant.
[Eira]: You? Listening to people? Now THAT I don’t believe.
For the next several minutes, their conversation drifted toward the academy—upcoming exams, the latest gossip about which students were making a name for themselves.
At some point, Eira sent him a picture... a handwritten page filled with complex etheric equations.
[Eira]: I wrote these notes for you, so if you have time to chat, study this. You’re welcome.
Brandon stared at the image for a few seconds before sighing.
[Brandon]: You expect me to read all that?
[Eira]: I expect you to at least TRY. Unless you want to fail the next assessment?
[Brandon]: Ugh. Fine, fine. I’ll look at it later.
Eira’s response was a single smirking emoji followed by:
[Eira]: If you don’t, I’ll make you regret it when I see you in Academy.
Brandon sighed but smiled slightly.
Their back-and-forth continued for a while longer.
Eventually, his eyes began to grow heavy and the exhaustion of the day was finally catching up to him.
With a final message, he typed:
[Brandon]: Alright, I’m heading to sleep. Don’t fail without me.
[Eira]: Hah. You wish. Night, dumbass.
[Brandon]: What? You are going to sleep without kissing me?
A bit later, Brandon saw a kissing emoji...
[Eira]: Is that enough?
[Brandon]: Yeah...
Brandon chuckled at that before setting the phone down beside him.
At this time, someone knocked on his door.
Hm? he got down from the bed and corrected his t-shirt before reaching up and opening the door.
As he pulled the door open, the warm glow of the hallway lights spilled in, revealing the figure standing before him.
Oh?
Looking at the beautiful woman with white hair with one eye blindfolded, he sighed in his heart.
Valiene Himelle.
Before he could say anything, she bowed her head deeply "All hail the Herald."
At this time, Brandon also noticed the jacket and the t-shirt she was clutching in her hand.
The same one that had been soaked during the baptism.
The fabric was now crisp and fresh, clearly cleaned and pressed.
’My jacket?’
With a nod, he replied "Get up..."
Valiene obeyed without hesitation, straightening her posture before extending the folded garments towards him "I have cleaned and dried them for you, Lord Herald."
"Oh, Thanks."
He reached out and took the jacket and t-shirt in his hand before giving her a faint smile.
She shook her head gently "It was my duty, Herald."
Brandon just nodded his head and after a brief moment he saw that she is still standing there.
"Is there something else?"
For a moment, she hesitated before speaking up "There is one more thing,"
Brandon raised an eyebrow. "Go on."
Valiene straightened her posture, clasping her hands together in front of her. "The marriage arrangement."
Brandon blinked. Oh. That.
Valiene continued, "I understand that such a proposal may have come as a surprise to you. However, I wished to clarify my position."
Brandon narrowed his gaze slightly. "Your position?"
She exhaled softly, "The arrangement was not my idea. Nor was it something I sought."
Hearing this, Brandon spoke "You were just going to go along with what the higher-ups said?"
Valiene’s eye flickered slightly. "Yes. Had you received a lower affinity during the baptism, the Church would have arranged our union as a means to secure stability."
"It would have been an arrangement for the good of the Church."
With a soft sigh, Brandon replied "Well, it doesn’t matter now. That arrangement isn’t happening anymore, right?"
"Since I got the golden pillar and already tied to the Church, you don’t have to use this marriage stuff to tie me into the church."
Valiene nodded slightly "Yes. But I still wished to speak to you personally about it."
Brandon frowned slightly. "Why?"
She hesitated again, and this time, she looked away for the briefest of moments before speaking. "Because I did not wish for there to be any misunderstandings between us."
Brandon blinked and looked at her blue eye "Alright. I get it."
Valiene’s visible eye softened for a moment "Then I shall take my leave."
Brandon watched as she took a step back, bowing her head slightly.
With that, she turned and began walking down the corridor, her long white hair flowing behind her.
Brandon stood in the doorway, watching as she disappeared around the corner.
He exhaled deeply before shutting the door and tossing his jacket onto the chair.
He fell back onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling.
