Chapter 773: Chapter 773: Seduction

Ou Xiaoxiao stepped out, wearing a sleek black lingerie set that hugged every curve of her body. Her skin seemed to glow under the dim light, her lips curled into a seductive smile.

"Nanhao..." she said softly, walking toward him.

For a moment, he was frozen.

He always thought she was dumb and annoying, but her body... it was stunning. Perfect, even.

His resolve weakened. I’ll break up with her tomorrow anyway, he told himself. Might as well enjoy tonight.

And with that thought, he closed the door behind them.

Ou Xiaoxiao’s heart raced with excitement.

From the moment she and Meng Nanhao started dating, he had always kept a respectful distance.

Whenever she hinted at taking things further, he would shake his head with that charming smile and say,

"I want to wait till marriage." She had thought it was sweet—and honestly, a bit frustrating.

Her family had always warned her, too: no physical relationships before marriage. She had nodded along like an obedient daughter.

But now? Now things felt different. The man she loved had finally looked at her with something more than patience—he had looked at her with desire.

Meng Nanhao pushed her onto the bed gently, his hands brushing down her arms as he reached for the straps of her black lingerie. His lips lowered toward hers, and her breath hitched.

But before he could kiss her, ding dong.

The doorbell rang.

Both of them froze.

"Are you kidding me?" Meng Nanhao groaned and leaned back, clearly annoyed. "Who the hell comes at a time like this?"

Ou Xiaoxiao sat up quickly, wrapping her arms around herself. Her heart was thudding now—but this time, from nerves.

Meng Nanhao grumbled under his breath.

"I should’ve known. The chance of Ou Lin forgetting something at home is basically zero. If he’s back... then that file really was important."

He turned to Xiaoxiao quickly. "Where’s the file? Give it to me now—I’ll take pictures and be gone."

Ou Xiaoxiao shook her head, still breathless. "I already took the photos earlier. I’ll send them to you. But for now, you need to hide."

Nanhao looked around, then nodded. "Fine. Just hurry."

Ou Xiaoxiao threw on a robe and rushed out of the room, smoothing her hair down as she approached the front door. Her heart pounded louder with every step.

She opened the door, and there stood Ou Lin, his expression unreadable but definitely darker than usual.

"You took your time," he said flatly.

She forced a laugh, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Sorry, I was in the shower."

His eyes flicked to the robe, then back to her face. He nodded, but something about it felt... off.

"Right," he said. Then, without another word, he walked past her and picked up the forgotten file from the dining table. He held it for a second, frowning slightly, before tucking it under his arm.

He turned at the door. "Mother’s coming back in five minutes," he said casually. "Don’t let any strangers in. We’ve made a lot of enemies lately."

Ou Xiaoxiao’s stomach dropped.

Mother. Five minutes. freeweɓnovel~cѳm

Her eyes widened. The warning echoed in her ears.

She barely managed a stiff nod as Ou Lin left. The moment the door shut, she ran back to her room.

"Nanhao," she whispered urgently. "You have to go. Now. My mom will be here in five minutes."

He frowned, already halfway through pulling his shirt back on. "What’s the rush? Five minutes is enough. We can do a quick twenty-minute session."

Xiaoxiao shook her head, panic flashing in her eyes. "No, no—she will check. If she finds out... I’ll be done. You have to go."

Seeing the panic in her face, Meng Nanhao sighed dramatically and zipped up his jacket. "Fine, fine. You’re lucky I’m patient."

As he reached the door, he turned back once. His eyes swept over her robe-clad figure with a mix of disappointment and calculation. Then he left.

Ou Xiaoxiao locked the door behind him, her chest rising and falling fast.

But despite the scare, her heart felt full.

He came for her.

He wanted her.

And now, they were truly connected.

She opened her phone and quickly sent the pictures she’d taken of the file.

He’s going to be so happy, she thought, smiling. Maybe tonight he’ll dream of me... Maybe soon I’ll be Mrs. Meng.

Meanwhile, Meng Nanhao arrived at the Meng family’s grand villa and made his way into the study, a satisfied look on his face.

He stood straight, his expression calm but proud as he placed the printed pages gently on his father’s desk.

The study was large and filled with the smell of old wood and ink.

His father, Meng Qingshan, was sitting behind the heavy mahogany desk, eyes sharp as always behind his reading glasses.

Meng Qingshan looked up from his own paperwork and glanced at the document.

"Is this what I think it is?" he asked, his voice low and measured.

"Yes," Meng Nanhao replied confidently.

"It’s the bidding project file from the Ou family. Ou Xiaoxiao sent it to me."

Meng Qingshan’s eyes lit up with interest.

He pulled the pages closer and began flipping through them, scanning the contents quickly.

"Hmm," he muttered, a smirk beginning to form on his lips.

"So it’s true... the Ou family is planning to bid on the South Bay redevelopment. This file has everything—the budget estimate, the subcontractor list, even the bribe ledger..."

He paused, then looked up at his son. "You’re sure this isn’t a setup?"

Meng Nanhao nodded.

"Positive. Xiaoxiao has no idea what’s in the file. She couldn’t even read half of it. She just thought it was what I wanted.

And her brother, Ou Lin, came home to retrieve it not long after I took it. It’s clear they didn’t mean to leave it behind. She got to it by pure luck."

Meng Qingshan leaned back in his chair, chuckling.

"That pig-headed girl actually handed it to you on a silver platter. Amazing." He shook his head, his expression filled with amusement and disdain.

"The Ou family raised a fool, but lucky for us, she’s our fool now."

He folded his arms. "And she still thinks you love her?"

"Yes," Nanhao said, his lips twitching slightly in a smile.

"She still thinks I’m serious about her. Even wore lingerie today, trying to seduce me."

Meng Qingshan raised an eyebrow, then laughed, deep and cold.

"Oh, did she now? Trying to ’reward’ you for doing your job?" He chuckled again.

"What a joke. Her father tried so hard to keep her pure, raised her like some delicate porcelain flower... and in the end, she practically throws herself at you."

Meng Nanhao shrugged.

"She said it was her first time trying something like that. She thinks I’m going to marry her one day."

"That’s good," his father said with a nod.

"Keep it that way. The longer she believes it, the more useful she’ll be. That girl has no brain, but she has value as a tool. Especially if we can get more documents like this one."

He looked back down at the papers, satisfaction gleaming in his eyes.

"This is going to put us five steps ahead. With this file, we can undercut the Ou family’s proposal and win the bidding, cutting off the Ou family completely."

Meng Nanhao hesitated for a second.

"What if her mother finds out? Ou Xiaoxiao said her mother was strict about keeping her out of company matters. She warned her not to touch any of the files."

"Let her find out," Meng Qingshan said dismissively.

"By the time she figures anything out, we’ll have already made our move. Besides, even if they do suspect Xiaoxiao, they won’t throw her out right away.

Families like theirs... they’d rather control a weak daughter than deal with a scandal."

He placed the file in a locked drawer and closed it with a click.

"You did well today, Nanhao."

Meng Nanhao smiled faintly, hiding the tiny thread of discomfort tugging at the back of his mind.

He didn’t like Ou Xiaoxiao.

She was clingy, dumb, and naïve. But for a second back at her place, when she looked at him with those big, hopeful eyes... he felt something.

Not love, but maybe guilt. Just a bit.

But it didn’t matter now. Business was business.

"She’s going to text me all night again," he said with a sigh.

"Let her," Meng Qingshan replied, smirking.

"Keep replying just enough to keep her chasing you. You’re doing your part for the family. That’s what matters."

Meng Nanhao nodded and left the study.

As the door closed behind him, Meng Qingshan looked down once more at the photograph on his desk—an aerial image of the South Bay project site.

He reached for a pen and began to scribble notes on the margins.

"Sorry, Ou family," he muttered to himself.

"Your empire’s about to fall... and it’s your own daughter who lit the match."
