Chapter 784: Chapter 784: End of Yu And Sheng-2

Sheng Yin was content and closed her eyes.

However, Yu Shuchang wasn’t done; he softly called out,

"Yin, how about one more round?"

Sheng Yin thought for a while. One more round wasn’t going to hurt, right?

"Okay." She gave her consent.

However, when even after three more rounds, Yu Shuchang asked her the same question, Sheng Yin gritted her teeth,

"You are acting like a cat in rut!"

"Maybe I am." Yu Shuchang said as he tore open another packet of condoms. He doesn’t want Sheng Yin to eat birth control pills, since they are harmful to her body.

Only on their first time did he release his seeds. He regretted not wearing a condom, though.

Now, Sheng Yin will have to eat a birth control pill the next morning. But he vowed to wear condoms for all of their next times.

He knew she was at the peak of her career and wouldn’t want to get pregnant, so he took preventive measures.

Sheng Yin’s gritted voice brought him out of his daze,

"No more! I want to sleep."

Yu Shuchang chuckled and coaxed,

"Baby, just one more round. I swear."

Turns out Yu Shuchang was a liar when he was in bed.

The beast only slept after 6 rounds. Midway through the 6th round, Sheng Yin passed out. Yu Shuchang cleaned himself and her before going to bed.

Yu Shuchang’s dream deepened like a slow descent into a forgotten memory.

He stood in the middle of a bright studio, unfamiliar but oddly nostalgic.

His heart beat faster, as if recognizing a moment he had never consciously lived.

Across the room, Sheng Yin was spinning in slow circles, a wide, excited grin lighting up her younger face.

She held a piece of paper high in the air—it was the contract.

The same one he had offered in this life, but something about her joy here felt... innocent, unguarded.

The dream shifted slightly.

He was now standing a few steps away, watching her dance across the room with the paper clutched to her chest.

The expression on his own face—his past self—was both amused and confused. He heard his own voice mutter quietly:

"What a silly girl... why are you so happy?"

The words were soft, filled with disbelief, but not mocking. Almost... tender.

Scene after scene played out.

Accidental touches. Lingering glances.

A moment when past Sheng Yin had tripped on a cable during rehearsal and fallen into his arms.

He had caught her easily, holding her for a second too long before clearing his throat and stepping back.

His past self had smiled when she blushed.

Another time, she had fallen asleep on the couch after practice, and his past self had carefully draped a jacket over her shoulders, lingering for a moment to tuck her hair behind her ear.

Yu Shuchang, the present one, watched silently, heart aching.

His past self had clearly admired her... so then why had things turned out the way Sheng Yin said?

Then the scene shifted again.

This time, it was evening, and past Yu Shuchang stood nervously in front of a mirror. He held a small ring box in one hand and rehearsed lines with a shy smile.

"Yin... would you like to make this real?" His eyes sparkled with hope. There was no trace of indifference—only the face of a man ready to confess love.

Yu Shuchang frowned. His past self had planned to propose. Then what had gone wrong?

Suddenly, the air changed. The scene grew darker.

He was outside a vanity van now. And standing just a few feet away was Qi Bailu.

Even in the dream, Yu Shuchang could feel his heart tighten.

Qi Bailu looked younger but just as smug. His arms were crossed, and there was a mocking curve to his lips.

"Still playing the role of the noble protector?" Qi Bailu sneered. "You really don’t get it, do you?"

Past Yu Shuchang frowned. "What are you talking about?"

"I’m talking about being a stand-in," Qi Bailu said, eyes flashing.

"You think Sheng Yin loves you? That she even see you? You’re just a replacement. Her first love, her real boyfriend, was me."

Yu Shuchang’s breath caught.

"You are lying."

"I am not. Just look at this." With that, Qi Bailu took out his teenage pics and compared them with Yu Shuchang’s pics.

He pointed between them.

"Back in our teenage years, we looked nearly the same. You think that’s a coincidence?"

Past Yu Shuchang clenched his fists.

"I don’t believe you."

"Of course you don’t. But that doesn’t change the truth." Qi Bailu smirked.

"You’re not her first anything. You’re just the guy she clings to because you remind her of someone she couldn’t keep."

With that, Qi Bailu stepped aside.

"Go ahead. Open the door. See for yourself."

Past Yu Shuchang hesitated. But then, with trembling hands, he reached out and opened the door of the van.

Inside, Sheng Yin was on the phone. Her voice was soft, laced with pain.

"I know I shouldn’t... but I still haven’t forgotten him. My first love."

The world crashed around Yu Shuchang.

His past self froze in the doorway, the small ring box clenched tightly in his fist. He didn’t speak. He just stared.

Sheng Yin’s words echoed in the silence, cutting through every wall he had built.

Outside, Qi Bailu chuckled.

"I told you. In fact, if you ever ask her if she has a boyfriend, she will deny it. She’ll never tell you the truth—especially if she knows it might expose the fact that you’re just the second option."

The scene faded briefly.

When it returned, it was late at night. Past Yu Shuchang sat alone in his vanity van, head in his hands, eyes dark and tired. The ring box was gone.

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"Yin," he said when she answered. "Can we talk?"

Minutes later, she arrived. Still dressed in her costume, makeup faintly smudged, a soft smile on her lips.

He didn’t waste time.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend before?"

There was a beat of silence.

Sheng Yin’s eyes flickered—barely a second—and then she shook her head.

"No."

A small one, maybe. But to his already fractured heart, it was the final crack.

Past Yu Shuchang nodded, but the light in his eyes had dimmed. He smiled faintly.

"Okay. You should go rest. It’s been a long shoot."

Sheng Yin blinked, confused. "You... are you mad?"

He shook his head, still wearing that soft, broken smile. "Why would I be mad? Go on, Yin."

She nodded slowly, unsure, and turned to leave.

As the door closed behind her, past Yu Shuchang’s expression darkened. He stood still for a moment, then walked over to the table and picked up his phone.

He dialed a number.

It rang only once before a voice answered, cheerful and curious. "Mr. Yu?"

"Susan, it’s me," he said. "Can I ask you something? And I want the truth."

"Of course." Her tone shifted, more cautious now. "What is it?"

"Was Qi Bailu... Sheng Yin’s first love?"

There was a pause. Then a quiet sigh.

"Yes," Susan admitted. "They were together when they were both trainees. Everyone in the company knew about it. He was her first boyfriend."

Yu Shuchang’s eyes closed.

Susan hesitated, then added gently, "They’re... still in contact. Off and on."

A long silence.

"Did she ever talk about me?" he asked, voice barely above a whisper.

Another pause. Susan seemed reluctant now.

"I mean, yes. She does... sometimes," she said. "Usually just mentions you in passing. Like how you remind her of Qi Bailu."

Yu Shuchang stiffened. "She said that?"

Susan sounded apologetic. "I can show you... if you really want to see."

"Yeah," he breathed. "Show me."

In the dream, Yu Shuchang watched as past Susan handed his past self Sheng Yin’s phone. He scrolled through a chat window.

"He looks so much like you when you were younger. Sometimes I wonder if fate is playing a trick on me.

More messages followed—some cryptic, some more revealing. All of them dug deeper into his heart.

"She... said I remind her of you," Yu Shuchang repeated quietly.

Susan took the phone back and said carefully, "Mr. Yu, I know you’re serious about her."

He looked at her.

"If you want," she continued, "I can help you."

He narrowed his eyes. "How?"

She smiled faintly. "Just add me on chat. I’ll send you everything I know."

The past version of Yu Shuchang didn’t speak for a long time. Then, finally, he nodded. "Alright. Send it."

The scene blurred again, skipping forward like a rewinding tape. Present Yu Shuchang watched helplessly as time raced ahead.

It was a new day. A gift box sat on the dressing table—carefully wrapped chocolates and a bouquet of elegant lilies. Sheng Yin stood beside it, her face nervous but hopeful.

"I just thought... since you’ve been working so hard..." she murmured.

Past Yu Shuchang accepted them with a stiff smile, his fingers brushing hers. "Thanks," he said. A flicker of genuine warmth passed through his eyes.

But after she left, his phone buzzed.
