Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 805: Yu Mei’s Soul
Chapter 805: Chapter 805: Yu Mei’s Soul
But the woman moved swiftly and placed her gloved hand over the phone.
"Don’t," she said, voice low but sharp. "That would be a mistake."
Old Master Fu frowned. "Why? We have the upper hand now."
She turned to face him slightly, still shrouded in shadow.
"That’s exactly why you must stay quiet. This is not the time to gloat. This is the time to win the public’s full sympathy."
"You think people will forget all this?" he scoffed.
"No," she replied.
"But they’ll forgive. Eventually. If you stay patient, and stay the victim, they’ll come back to your side completely.
They already want to. The more hate your grandson receives, the more people think you were right all along. Let them think you are hurt... broken... but still kind."
Old Master Fu’s brow furrowed.
"And the people I hired to storm the hospital?"
The woman tilted her head. "You will apologize to them."
"What?" he said, voice rising.
"You will act like a concerned grandfather who is ashamed of his grandson-in-law’s action, but still try to protect them because of your soft heart.
Say you had no idea what they planned to do. Say you’re horrified by violence. Reinforce your new image—gentle, regretful, misunderstood." The woman explained.
He scowled. "But if we turn the tide now—"
She stepped closer.
"This isn’t about now. This is about the long game. You want to destroy Yu Sicong and Fu Jian completely? Then let the world do it for you. Right now, they’re hated. But if you attack them, people will side with them again out of pity."
Old Master Fu was silent.
Then slowly, he leaned back in his chair and exhaled.
"You are a dangerous woman," he said.
She gave a small nod. "And you are a smart man. Which is why you’ll listen."
He stared at her for a moment longer.
Then, to his own surprise, he smiled.
"You know... I truly am thankful for your advice. Every step of the way."
His eyes returned to the TV screen. The livestream was still playing. Fu Jian looked broken. Yu Sicong was being shouted at by reporters. It was chaos.
Old Master Fu lifted his glass again and toasted the screen with a quiet laugh.
"This," he said, "is getting interesting."
.....................
Inside the hospital room...
The moment the reporters were gone—chased out by Yu Sicong’s personal security team—there was a heavy silence.
The lights had dimmed a little, but the tension remained thick in the air.
Yu Sicong sat down in the chair near the bed, rubbing his temples, eyes dull with exhaustion.
Across from him, Fu Jian sat hunched forward, his face buried in his hands.
"...It’s all because of me," Fu Jian muttered, his voice raw. "They hate you because of me."
Yu Sicong looked up quickly. "Hey. Don’t say that."
Fu Jian didn’t respond.
His hands trembled.
"My family... the name... the company... You didn’t ask for any of this. You just loved me. But because of who I am... they want to burn you alive."
Yu Sicong got up and crossed the room in a few quick steps. He crouched beside Fu Jian and placed a steady hand on his knee.
"You are not the problem," Sicong said firmly. "They are."
Fu Jian finally lifted his head, his eyes red and puffy.
"Then why does it feel like the world is closing in on us?"
Sicong’s voice softened. "Because it is. But that doesn’t mean we stop. We just have to figure out our next move."
There was a pause.
Then—
Knock knock.
Both of them froze.
Sicong’s eyes snapped toward the door. He stood up immediately and motioned for Fu Jian to stay seated.
"Don’t move. I’ll get it."
This time, he moved cautiously.
Hand on the door, body angled to block any sudden surge.
He opened it slowly.
And there she was—Yu Holea.
She wore a plain coat, her hair tied up in a loose ponytail, and her eyes full of concern.
"Holea," Sicong breathed out, the tension leaving his body all at once. "Come in."
She stepped inside and he quickly closed the door behind her.
"I saw the news," she said, walking toward Fu Jian and giving him a brief, sympathetic nod. "And I saw the reporters swarming in. I was worried."
"We’re okay now," Sicong replied. "But someone tried to set us up. Clearly."
Holea’s expression turned grim. "I know. And I also know who it was."
Sicong gave a bitter laugh, sitting back down. "Let me guess. Old Master Fu. Who else?"
But Holea shook her head slowly—then gave a quiet nod.
"It was him... but he wasn’t acting alone."
That made Sicong pause. He sat up straighter.
"What are you talking about?"
Holea folded her arms, her voice low and steady.
"It’s Yu Mei’s mother. She’s the one behind all of this. She’s the one who manipulated Old Master Fu, fed him ideas, convinced him that taking revenge on you would fix everything."
Sicong blinked, stunned. "Yu Mei’s mother? But... why? What did I ever do to her?"
Holea hesitated, then looked him in the eye.
"Not you. But me. After all, I have stored Yu Mei’s soul. She wants the soul, so she has taken such a desperate step."
Yu Sicong stared at her, confused.
"You... stored Yu Mei’s soul?"
Yu Holea nodded slowly, her expression calm but serious.
"Yes. It’s a bit complicated, and I will explain to you everything later."
Then she turned toward Fu Jian and said softly,
"So sister-in-law..."
Fu Jian glared at Yu Holea. Yu Holea smiled with mischief in her eyes and said,
"I mean, brother-in-law. Don’t blame yourself. If you want to blame anyone, just blame my brother instead."
Yu Sicong: "..." What a great solution. But shouldn’t you have discussed with me?
Fu Jian: "..." Yu Sicong’s little sister is so cute.
His heart softened when he realized that Yu Holea had said everything purely because she didn’t want him to blame himself.
Yu Holea chuckled lightly, her tone playful but warm.
"What? I’m just saying the truth. If anything, it’s my brother’s fault for falling in love with you so hard. That’s where all the trouble started."
Fu Jian’s lips twitched into a faint smile, despite everything. "So it’s all Sicong’s fault now, huh?"
Yu Sicong sighed, pretending to be exasperated. "Great. Now I’m the villain in my own story."
Holea grinned. "You always had the main character energy. It was bound to happen."
The tension in the room eased slightly. For a moment, it felt like they were just three people talking, not three people caught in the middle of a public storm.
Then Holea’s expression turned serious again.
"But jokes aside, we don’t have much time. Yu Mei’s mother won’t stop. The more pressure she puts on you two, the closer she gets to what she wants."
"And what does she want?" Sicong asked, his voice steady but tight.
Holea looked at him carefully.
"She wants to bring Yu Mei back—completely. Not just her soul. However, this is where we can succeed. The more desperate she is, and the more her plans fail, the easier it will become to catch her off-guard and take her down, once and for all."
"Are you planning something?" Yu Sicong asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Indeed, I am. But I want your corporation." Yu Holea said in a soft voice.
Yu Sicong crossed his arms, thinking carefully. "What do you need from us?"
"You two need to stay strong in the public eye. Right now, she thinks you’re crumbling. That makes her bold. The more reckless she becomes, the easier it’ll be to catch her slipping. But if you fight back too hard, she’ll hide again."
Sicong nodded. "So we take the hits... and let her think she’s winning."
Holea gave a small smile. "Exactly."
Fu Jian glanced at Sicong, a worried look in his eyes. "But if we do that... won’t people just keep turning against us?"
Sicong reached over and took his hand again.
Yu Holea smiled,
"That is where you are wrong. I have collected evidence against Old master Fu. You need to systematically post them and make sure to keep Old Master Fu distracted."
With that, she took out a USB and passed it to Yu Sicong.
"Alright, then I would leave and wait for you both to take revenge." Yu Holea said and left.
Fu Jian stared at Yu Holea’s back before gulping and said,
"Remind me to never get on her bad side."
Yu Sicong chuckled,
"You will never. You might not know this, but she loves BL manhwas and wanted to meet a gay couple in real life."
Fu Jian blinked. "Wait. Are you serious?"
Yu Sicong grinned. "Dead serious. She once told me she thought real-life couples were even better than the ones in stories."
Fu Jian flushed a little, but a small smile played on his lips. "So... are we her dream come true or something?"
